It’s been awesome getting to be home. We are jumping back and forth between two jobs at the moment. A bridge job and the fence/ranch job. It has been awesome getting to be apart of both of them. In this episode you will get to come with us as we arrive on the job and get to work welding and repairing gates and building new fence and up and overs. These pens will be used for working cattle so they need to be built stout. The next project for the day was building and welding some hay forks for the backhoe bucket. Come hang out with us as we get our projects done. Everyone be blessed. - Zábava
Welding is such a versatile career path, I mean let’s be honest, pipeline, structural, mobile welding, shop welding, fabrication, repair. The list goes on and on. My father always told me, one of the biggest keys to being successful in business is being willing to go do what you have to do to get by. Great video!!!!!
Well said that man!
DingleZilla thank you!!!
Glad to see you doing this work. A lot of pipeliners are "too good" to do this kind of work. Keep at it, Hand!
Press the trigger thanks brother. I don’t know why it pays the same. And it is way better in my opinion. Good people great work and guns at lunch who can beat it!! LOL thanks again.
When u got bills and kids or just want the money no work is every too good shit ill make bbq pits if i have to
@BoneThroneTriumph anything that puts money in your pocket is good work
Ya'll did a real good job on the fence but you really impressed me with the backhoe project no offense brought back memories watching that left hander from the old retired welder
Good to see 2 real men doing what men do. Great work lads keep up the good work.
🙏 really appreciate the comment.
My yearling is tarring up his stall . It's amazing seeing horse being born and watching him grow up . This is the type of work I do .
I do miss the cutting horse industry. Hopefully get back into it.
Awesome stuff! Blessings guys!
Looks exactly like a day of Welding for me repairing all sorts of things on the farm
Love the example of ethics you display in this...heck of a cpl of guys. And NICE drone cam work too! Lol beautiful
You and few other people have definitely made me want to pursue being a welder for my job as soon as I get out of school
Cool love ur video's man. Stay safe & healthy guy's
Watching your videos really makes me want to pursue welding as a career! Must be awesome being able to do that kind of work and with family! Thanks man for keeping me money motivated 🤙🏼
Welding magnetized used oilfield pipe...what fun!!!!! I have had a lot of that fun myself.
Right up my alley. Burn it in hot and deep. Ranchers can be pretty hard on their gear. Kudos to you pipe guys for being flexible and taking ranch work. Shows character.
Doing that kind of work is a good way to break into welding. And can be fun if you are working with good guys
Oh man it was a good break from bridge work and pipe work. Really enjoyed it.
Drone shots are incredible! As a city slicker, I am envious of living the country life.
Where you from Frank?
East coast, not far from NY city
Awesome video once again !!!! I love Building Fence and Building Hay devices
🤙🏻 best video you guys have made good job. Learn a lot of different things from watching and taking in the info you share. So EH Welding and NH thanks and supports you!!
Thank you brother. Really means a lot.
Great video. I'm doing the same thing here also. Very nice to be home and around my parents. So much I missed out and all the stories I hear every day. Home sweet home. Just what was needed 2020. Thank you God!
Great watching y'all working together as a team, keep up the good work
Thank you sir
I always like equipment repair. Pipe is the same thing all the time and gets monotonous after a while. Always feels good to change scenery.
Awesome video Jacob! Always humble and great to watch!
Ive watched all your videos and enjoyed them I was a pipeline welder for a couple years before my accident and I really miss it
You’re a very simple and down to earth man. Idk why there’s so many arrogant money hungry welders out there spending a bunch of money on their trucks.
Much love to you guys. Thanks for the work you’re putting into these videos!
Thanks Nathan we are trying to make them just a little better every time.
Another great video keep it up stay blessed 🙏🏽
Hey brother hope you guys are doing well thanks for the motivation be safe and keep on welding
Awsome bridge welding videos hell yeah keep it up.
These are the videos we been waiting for. Keep it up!
Great video , hard work pays off !
g,day from Australia you boys are doing a lot of repairs on that ranch, those steaks look yummy cheers
Nice work gentlemen and God Bless You. Welcome back friend
Thanks Tim feels good to be back.
Love the videos! Can’t wait to get my welding degree in a few months. Keep up the good work
nice video. great shirt
Can't wait to get my truck together this next couple of weeks! Nice video brother.
This was just a cool video to watch guys great work with the drone shots and just cool to was welding on a farm and weld all sorts of stuff pretty awesome guys great job and great videos as always, be blessed guys
Thank you thank you. I got to say it was a blast to get to do something other then bridge work and pipe lol!
Glad to see you are able to do what you do making $ where you can! Good for you. Those are some mighty fine looking steaks!!!! Wow
Just did a bunch of welding on our farm.. used four inch wellcasing for post and two inch steel water line for horizontals. Welded Zimmerman hinges on the casing for gates. works great..
I’m going to have to look those up.
@@JacobSchofield
Zimmerman gates and hinges are out of PA and are very good just heavy. Takes at least two men to hang one. But they keep cows in.
One of those weld while the weldins good days.
I like the drone work y'all do in your video. It really looks cool man.
Man your videos are such a inspiration an the quality an content keeps getting better great job !
Thank you Nick we are trying to make them better.
Badass video brother
Love it
Looking good Jake and Jed 👍!
Thanks brother
I love your defeat childhood cancer shirt!
Greatest cause ever!!
You are a real one !! 👌🏻
Thanks Alex.
Fork hooks on that backhoe are fun to do, at the John Deere dealership I work at I have to weld those on quit often 🙌🏼
Yes they are! there awesome and that was fun project to get to do.
A great video.
You managed to compress a fair slice of what it's like to be a travelling bush contractor
into an interesting video.
Years ago, I used to do the same thing to put bread on the table.
I dunno how long you've bin doing this, so I won't give you untolds of advise,
you'll prolly get untolds of it from other well meaning old hands anyway.
I wish you well,
happy trails.
Jake, another great video - I love watching y'all work. One suggestion - maybe some voice over / narration on this kind of work. As someone who's wanting to weld professionally, give us some more details. Like what exactly was the ranch boss wanting done on that hay fork setup ? Were you just reinforcing the forks and fabricating a bucket mount ? And talk about what you're running - rod and welder setup wise. It's just more info that would be good to put along with watching. Just a suggestion, keep up the great work. And glad to see you reppin' a Texas company :)
Hey man I love Texas!!! Anytime. You are a 100% right I will start doing that thank you.
Nice. good old days
I like the drone footage. It adds a different element to the video.
Thanks Brent
Yes sir, show us how it's done. I just bought a nice big Lincoln, I'm about to show these boys how's it's done as well.
Hell yeah tear it up!!!
Your staying at the Ranch bunk house. Your getting back to your roots of horses/ ranch work.
My favorite part of the whole video was seeing Jed cut his steak with his pocket knife the same way I do
Hahahah only way to eat a good ribeye steak
Must be nice that it’s still cold enough up there you can wear heavy close.
Early bird gets the worm
ive been watching since the beginning! The videos are looking great and excellent editing and music. Only thing i would love to see is you come over to the camera and say what the project is, what you are about to do. It would give more story-line to the entire video. LOVE THE STEAKS!
Thank you thank you. That is all thanks to @petermckinnion on CZcams and a few other guys we have been following trying to pick up tips 😂 thanks for noticing
As a guy that spends his time building fences, feedlots, and cattle enclosure barns i can tell you i can get you or the guys your working for some really nice gates for pretty dang cheap that will actually hold up. Those muffle pipe gates are good for pastures but not working facilities. Second piece of advice is if you get a decent sized fence job i would look seriously into getting a gas Miller 250 if i was you. Brand new they are $4500 put 1500 hours on it and sell it for $4000 and keep your awsome pipe pro for the pipe and structural work. Pipe fence you set the machine at about 120 and have at it👍🤙 besides that awsome video as always and stay safe out there.
Man that’s a great idea. Hopefully we can get more jobs like this and justify buying a new little machine. Thanks brother
Thanks for this video, do you have to carry commercial insurance for this line of welding? I want to do this full time and I’m about to get my rig finished up. Have a blessed day
The gold mines down in NV are looking for welders in case you get tired of MT and WY
please tell me why and the benefit of welding uphill like you were doing on the tubing. Also walk me through the building of one of those nice stands thank you and may you find more work
low hydrogen rod is an uphill rod that's why I welded it uphill. plus this used drill stem is really magnetized so LH is the only way to really be sure it will hold up for a long time.
What drone are you using that was some great flying
Did you have any issues with magnesium on the oil well pipe? If so how did you get around it? I have went to AC to over come it, just looking for the better slice of bread if the is one. Thanks.
Jake, thanks for all the videos and good advice. I have a question about your pipeline hood- Did the outlaw leather help with backlight once you chopped the top? I run a 12 or 13 shade lens and still have issues with backlight in most hoods. Keep up the good hard honest work. We need more people like you in this country! Best of luck to you and the bros in your venture, God Bless.
I think it helps a little. But to avoid the back light a100% a pancake hood is the only way I know of.
@@JacobSchofield Thank you.
Good to see you are still burning and earning young man. A lot of my work got stopped here in England because of this stupid Covid-19 bullshit. However, work has started to pick up again and I am getting welding work on famrs and brought to me at home. Just on with welding a new flooor on a tractor bucket which I have put videos up on YT. I will turn my hand to anything but when the Well runs dry you have to keep a calm head and a sense of humour!
👍👍
I message you on LinkedIn a while back about just rigging up and finding work in Gillette Wyoming. But since the stupid virus and oil industry crapping out after breaking out, I ended up going home to Missouri and been so busy just doing odd job welding. Its been amazing. God blessed! You know He takes care of His own.
Amen to that Kevin I feel the same way.
I have a 3 welders and a multiprosser but I rather stick welding
how much the linear foot
Could you tell me more about the shirt that you are wearing?
Like the welding hood 😁 ! Just remember stay in the market kiddo few buck less than the locals is ok , when we keep the metal family fair game. it always come back to someone asking you to help them on a big job... go gettem !
ONCE AND DONE mobile welding , 👊😎
Do you know what year Jed's truck is
Jacob, what kind of knife do you carry on your belt? Is that a custom made sheath?
I'm a knife maker, the one he's carrying is built by a buddy of mine in AZ. Check him out on Facebook or IG Mud Hollow Forge!!
Can you make a video on how to build a Hoosier poll
Music used in video?
I have a question. Can someone use flux core suitcase welder on the field instead of stick in everything?
All depends on the weld procedure
@@beaugodwin7306 but flux core is just as strong as the stick
I’d rather burn a rod
@@Bigknucklesandhands i understand that but im saying if someone wants to make money and finds stick welding hard he or she can use fcaw because its just as strong as smaw
Cheaper to burn a rod but yeah you could use the suitcase and it’s a faster process, but if it’s really windy then it’s going to blow away all of your shielding gas away and that creates porosity.....not a good thing! if your fabricating in a shop then yeah your good!
What rods u using 7018 an your not using the whole rod,, or is it a 6011 or 7014 which I hate
So taking and filling gaps with 5p+ 1/8” then capping with 7018
We're you in Daniel/horse creek wy I live right in pinedale wy
Did you guys use your own rods
Yes sir we did.
What is that you are using as a ground clamp?
It’s a T-300 stinger. I’ve always used them for a ground and they work great
Jacob Schofield I see that now. Good idea man.
What happens to the bed video?
There coming but I have over 200 videos to edit through and make interesting 😂 it’s going to take a little bit.
This is off topic but if your near Jackson hole there a place called Jackson hole meat company that sales buffalo burgers, steaks and elk meat . I bet a buffalo ribeye or tbone on charcoal would be phenomenal.
David Johnson oh baby!!! I’m going to head I. There tonight. Get some buffalo steaks. How did you know that’s where I was?
Jacob Schofield I didn’t . But u said u were n Wyoming and Jackson holes in Wyoming .🤣🤣🤣🤣I actually just heard of the place yesterday. are shipping people ship a bunch of styrofoam coolers to those guys to ship meat all over and I seen there name on the box’s so I checked there web sight out.
We didn’t make it over there this week but have to head back Monday so I plan on buffalo steaks Monday night.
Jake what is your go to glove?
For Tig or stick? Tig I really like the Miller gloves so awesome. For stick I was using the Yellowstone’s but got tired of paying 40.00 a pair and before they were worn out the stitching would fall out. So right now I’m working on finding a good pair that I love.
@@JacobSchofield Mostly stick welding. Been using tillmans for awhile but looking for a pair to try.
Heres your comment
Ok a few questions. You are constantly on the road from job to job.
Is that how all welding is if you want to make any real money? I mean do steady shop jobs not pay alot?
What about down in texas? I was told alot of welding there but I was also told half the population welds there so pay is low?
I'm just asking if I wanna make a long term career out of welding. Would I constantly have to be on the road?
You can find some good shops. But you’ll top out eventually. If you want to make some real good money. It’s on the road
@@brydenjordan4683
Yes that's what I assume. But what's an average top out rate. I mean is it not realistic to make $30-40 in a shop full time?
@@davidsolomon915 $30-40 in a shop is not chicken feed, and you're home every night..!!!
@@tandemwings4733 no 40 a night would be great.
But to be fully ticketed up with all certs for every process for AWS. And be certified for pipeline and monster coupon and for pipe alloys.
I do feel 30 on low end
If you find a shop that pays 30 - 40. Hit me up 😂😂. Most shop jobs won’t go over 20-25. And that’s with exp. only because they provide everything for you and all that
Damn, I need to get my shit together and get on some thing like that, get out of this Damn vessel shop
Skinny jeans??!!! C'mon Jed
I'm tig welder please help
