A Normal Day At The Shop (1 Hour Special )

- In this video I bring you along on a "normal" day at the shop to see what a little bit of what happens and what i do on a day to day basis. Of course this is only about 70% of it because obviously I can't record customer interactions, estimates, billing, phone calls, potty breaks, etc... I did this just to show viewers what mechanics go through on a day to day basis so they might understand a little bit about shop life. If you work in a shop... well this is nothing new to you I am sure :)

I don't understand how someone can complain about something so ridiculous. I'm just grateful that you take time out of your busy day to make these videos for everyone.
What are u referring to? No explanation of WTH u are even talking about.
@travisc5658 sounds like you're the person Mr. O is talking about XD
This is an older video, and you probably won't look back at this comment, but I watched the whole damn thing with great interest.... I don't know why.... I just enjoy your channel ! Keep up the good work, on the vehicles and with the camera....!
People thinking of doing this for a living should be required to watch this. Excellent channel and all that but not the easiest way to earn a living. I felt like it was 8 hours long after I watched this and I do my own work on my cars. I appreciate my job more now even though it's not all fun and games, quite the opposite.
Watching auto repair/auto content in general is very satisfying and relaxing to me. If that makes sense.. I don't know much about cars, just enjoy learning
I agree with all the comments here. Every time you think the grass is greener you forget about all the trade offs. And I also feel relaxed watching people fix things and pretty much dread it when I have to fix my own cars (although I do). And he mentioned this being like a reality show and it really is and one I think a lot of people would watch. Maybe this'll be the next new thing on the Discovery channel..
Responding to your old comment. Every body has their own passions, likes & dislikes. I've been a mechanic for 17 yrs and still love what I do. I tried doing some administrative work early on in my career and a handful of other non "hands on jobs" and I hated every one of them. I hated pushing pencils and staring at a computer all day. Nice to hear you appreciate your job as I do mine. Very rare these days to find folks who enjoy what they do. I'll stick to wrenching as it is a passion of mine. Everyday is a different challenge (I love challenges 😃), pays me well enough to have 3 nice vehicles, live in a nice suburban subdivision with a 1 acre lot and feed my 3 kids without my wife ever having to work so she can raise them. Cheers from Brandon Mississippi!

I think my favorite video is the one with the Buick Lesabre whose owner tried to install a new ECM with connectors that didn't fit with the existing ones but tried jamming them in anyway. Eric's reaction when he realized that all of the pins were bent and stuck was priceless! Sometimes car problems can be caused by the stupidest things!
The dog chasing the kids was priceless!
Lol I know good timing huh

Did you ever find out where he took it to have it undercoated? You said it was in fabulous
condition for the age.
Best thing about your day is @58:20
A bunch of kids and a beautiful wife and everything is payed off.
I kind of doubt if everything is paid off most these shops are in debt one way or another.
She loves you, and you love her, everyone can see it and hear it. May you, your spouse and children
be ever well and live ever happily!
ford nut, Man says his bills are paid, who are we to call him a liar? I’ve never seen anything but honesty in his character. Some things you can’t fake.

Ahead of your award winning personality, the thing I love about you is that you refuse to load up & fire the parts cannon off. It is very entertaining to watch you double and triple check by process of technical testing what is exactly wrong with a vehicle. One of the tests I had before being hired as an assistant automotive instructor at my high school was to to diagnose a 1965 ford starter. I tested both pull in and hold in windings and found the pull in windings were weak. My prospective boss / teacher said to replace the starter. I said give me 10 minutes & I will make this one start the truck. I drilled out a flat washer and stuffed it behind the bendix and it started the truck right up. No charge to the customer / math teacher.
I have been watching and following you for a couple of years now and I must say your knowledge especially on the electrical side is nothing short of impressive. I always find your videos very informative, entertaining and easy to follow. Your thought process on diagnostics is rare these days. I am a heavy duty mechanic up here in Calgary Alberta, the shop brings in a lot of light duty trucks and passenger cars. I find myself telling myself in my head “ man I remember seeing Eric made a video on this “ you have definitely improved my diag skills.
I agree, you hit the nail on the head, awesome videos, I play them while I'm doing other things too, nice to have it on in the background. I work on my own vehicles unless the job is too big or I need special tools. Cheers from Northern B.C. Canada
THE PHONE RINGING AND DOOR DINGING IS A BLESSING,THAT MEANS YOU HAVE MONEY COMING IN. 😊❤️
Door chimes and phone ringing sounds like money to me.
They sure do :)
@@DontCryAboutIt My grandfather (Puerto Rican with brown skin) told me how he went to the dealership in his work clothes (torn up dirty jeans and t-shirt) and was looking to buy a new truck (1989 Toyota Pickup) and not one sales associate would come over to help him until he spoke up and yelled "We'll i was looking to buy a new truck cash but i guess i'll have to go somewhere else!" He said all the sales associates were running over to wait on him hand and foot and treated him like a king! You cant judge a book by its cover.
@@upurnose46 .... Shitty customer service at a car dealership?? Well you dont say..
It's the sound of bills being paid.
So true.
Back in the 1980's when I was about your age, Eric, I worked my day job as a computer systems analyst at EDS, but because the job was so un-fulfilling and gummed up with lousy managers that I found myself searching for a way to do something I liked, and I found a part time job working as a mechanic in the evenings and on Saturdays. For three years I worked for a guy like you, Eric. The guy had a solid reputation as a good mechanic and always had a lot of work waiting and had many repeat customers who would take up his time talking and BSing. He made good money, and he was smart like you. And I had the best job I ever had, or would ever have, in my entire working career.
This is a great snapshot of his day. I am retired after many years as a mechanic. I remember the many times I was sent the wrong parts and other times the right parts but they were defective, out of the box. I started collecting catalogues and ended up with almost a full set so I could order the right parts. Then there are never enough tools and now all the electronic diagnostic very expensive devices. Incompetent parts men cost me dearly. I commend this good man. The job is hard and now with electronics everywhere, it is getting harder. Maybe he can make lots of money creating videos, like Scotty. I read he has made 7 million since he started and he rarely turns a bolt now. When I watch South Main videos I click the like button every time to help him.
You go out of your way to help people that are in genuine need and it is just as natural to you as the day is long. You love what you do and we appreciate it.
I own a Single person Marine Atv Shop. Been at it 22 years. My shop is just like yours. Kids and all, and now Grand kids. Gotta love being your own Boss.
ml2trick That's cool :)
you were overthinking the caliper situation, you gotta take a step back and realize its a chrysler product and all of a sudden it'll all make sense.
+Samuel Gonzalez Do I detect a note of sarcasm?
Lmao that's the funniest thing I've read
yep......the last good Chrysler was the 60 300F
When I worked as a automobile mechanic back in the 1980s, the crew of mechanics I worked with would cherry pick the work orders, leaving the Mopars in the stack and working on anything else, until all that were left were Mopars. Apparently Mopars haven't changed much.
I know this is an old comment but I learned everything i need to know about chrysler products years ago. I had a coworker whose relative worked at the pickup assembly plant. He was visiting and asked him if he wanted to get lunch. His relative said sure meet me at such and such bar which was across the street from the assembly plant. He got there a little early and saw a bar that stretched off into the distance. The bar was empty except for the bartenders who were busy lining up mugs of beer with a shot of whisky next to each one all the way down the bar. The whistle went off across the street and the doors opened and a herd of workers each went to their place on the bar like milk cows into stalls. They sat there for the next 30 minutes and drank as much as they could then proceeded back across the street to "build" more trucks. Yeah...all I needed to know. Getting a caliper backwards was probably the least of the issues.
I realize this vidio was 9 years ago but I love watching them, im an old back yard machnic but I'm always intrested in learning new things and I love puzzles and watching how you solve them and I've learned a lot so I can work on my own stuff and family stuff I don't have any fancy scanners but I can usually figur out the problem so far atleast by watching your videos it gives me a direction to head for thanks for your time
Love the line about the charger. "These things are toilets"
One of the best videos I have viewed on CZcams! It shows a family run business in a small town that cares about customers. I'm sure many viewers envy you Eric. I try to run my one man operation as you do, keeping customers coming back and showing them that I care. What a shame that America is losing small business to big corporations and customers become numbers rather than people.
Well 1 Timothy 6:10 says the love of money is the root of all evil, and we get to see that in big business for sure. Driven by power and greed.
Well said
Reply in Dec 2022. Absolutely Spot-on eldoradony. I grew up in a family business through 30years of age before I moved on to another profession. It was thousands of hours of drudgery but all in all, it was worth it. Now, in retirement, It was very definitely worth it.
Glad hearing that you’re a believer in the Lord Jesus, it’s hard finding a mechanic that you can trust, I’d come to your shop but I live in Pa.!!, watch your videos all the time, I almost unsubscribed you making fun of Ford😂Lol, what’s your favorite car brand?
Eric, I would like to thank you personally for starting your channel. you've restored my confidence. I watched you rebuild a transfer case on a kia, and one thing you said stuck with me. "it's just parts" yesterday I replaced a window regulator in a hyundai sonata that I was actually going to take to a shop. but I thought, "it's just parts" and went for it. I managed to get it all done and working. saved at least 200 dollars! so thank you again for your channel, and yes I can do it!
Yes sir! It is all nuts and bolts is what I usually say :)
Lee Dress I always say if it was build by man it can be fixed by man. It can’t be that hard. Just might need some specialty tools.
@@FishFind3000 comes down to time, tools, and back up car if you need to get around. I plan to learn how to fix brakes and suspension, those get hammered on the roads I drive and can save a lot of money in labor. Guys like this help so much to, can learn a lot.
"These things happen...
Usually daily!"
That cracked me up. The parts process is pretty incredible.
50:19
"it's already broke, what's the worst that can happen?"
this is the theme of every repair I do...
Eric, I'm newly subbed to your channel, and loving each video I see. This one brought to mind the mechanic shop we'd been going to for years. One afternoon after work, I had to limp my '83 Dodge Dakota home with what we found out later to be a split radiator. One of my "limp stops" on the way home was our mechanic's parking lot, just about closing time. The guy had no problem with me stopping there to cool off, for the last leg of the journey home. He actually helped me try to get more water into the engine, well after closing time. It's people like you and them that make a bad day with a sick car a much better one, merely by attitude and caring. Thank you for this video! Well done!
Def of Dodge= To Avoid.
Eric O, A days work is a days work. I like the idea of slowing down to go fast. Every days different, enjoyable, planned, unexpected, or just funny, like that jacked door. Also it's good to see an honest professional. I'm an arborist but love fixing vehicles. Im the same way at work. Well done, keep up the great work.
Even if you're more expensive that wouldn't make a difference to me . A good, competent & trustworthy mechanic is well worth it !!!
Love the story about your 3 year year old stashing all the bolts. I can totally relate! Also love seeing Trinity as a little one. So cool you and your family have done all of this together,
I'm a fairly new subscriber to your channel so I'm in the process of watching many of the videos. Just finished watching "A Normal Day at the Shop. You may be a great mechanic but what I have noticed is what a great parent you are. The way you communicate and deal with your children is amazing. I'm sure you learned this from your Dad. Keep up the great videos.
29:41
I'd be a loyal customer if I was local.
"Sometimes you gotta slow down to be fast."
Eric, this is 7 years later but still relevant. If your phone stops ringing and door bell stops ringing then business usually stops too. Since you are still making great videos it means your bells didn't stop ringing. Nice.
Blessed man. More than he realizes. Kids giggling playing with the dog... Beautiful wife comes strolling in... Shop paid for, cars paid for, home paid for.. yeah you're blessed....
It's cool that your get to have your family at the shop with you.
Show Me What I Need To Know It's the best part about it!
Holy crap i had a 81 Scrambler with a Iron Duke...Loved that thing
I enjoy your videos a lot. I have my own small business also, and its hard being self employed. But you do it with a little grace and a lot of honesty. Keep the videos coming.
"It was a happy marriage until one day, a Jeep ruined it all."
"Curse you Chrysler!!" 🤣😂🤣😂
Hey Eric, enjoyed the video. I'm a NYC Transit bus mechanic. Been at it 25 years. I guess I enjoy repair videos like yours because of the variety of what you work on. I get exactly 4 different models of bus to fix, so there is not much I can't diagnose from looking at the work order. You do a good job ay keeping the camera on the work and explaining what you are doing. Keep up the good work!
***** U must be a good guy cuz all good guys are named Eric right? Man u must be a pro with only 4 makes to do. Some days I wish I had a gig like that.
Here i am binge watching like the 5th “day in shop” video at 1:47 am when i should be sleeping cuz i got work early morning.
My son is a mechanic and will only fix what's broken hates comebacks . Mechanic s like you and him make it important for good ones to be out there
Love to see a good family owned and operated business like yours. I'm a mechanic myself and have worked for a couple rip off national chains that I couldn't stand. I just do it by myself at home out of my garage now and occasionally I'll do some mobile jobs. Mostly for friends, family, friends of friends, and neighbors. Keeps me plenty busy and I feel good that my customers aren't getting ripped off like they would at many other shops. Great work mr. O!
Walked out of the room & this started playing. Already watched it but watched it again. Have to agree completely being a shop owner you work your butt off all hours and do what you need to to get the cars out. Spent plenty long nights and early mornings getting cars out but love what I do which you have to to get customers cars out. Video made me smile listening to life as an owner :D
Great video Eric showing us a typical day at your shop. When you said, there's that damn phone ringing again, I laughed my ass off. And the story about your son who hid all of those bolts was hilarious. You've got a good sense of humor and I appreciate you taking the time to show all the ups and downs that occur in a typical shop. Take care Eric...
_And the story about your son who hid all of those bolts was hilarious._ YEAH It's funny now haha
I think we can make a drinking game out of it every time the phone rings or the door you take a drink
Your. A true hero to your small town. They probably know you can be trusted. Good reputation is easy to loose and hard to keep. Good for you.
Respect, it's not about a paycheck, it's about living and winning...you sir...are winning!!!
Fantastic! But Eric, how do you find the time to run a super busy shop, raise a family, make videos, AND answer all the comments?!?
I worked at a small independent shop for a year in 2012 after getting sick of grad school. My boss (and mentor) didn't pay his techs much more than minimum wage...and I get where he's coming from, especially with outrageous taxes and such. But no one can make a living earning 10 bucks an hour! So basically I had no choice but to start my own gig and build a customer base from scratch. You are 100% correct about treating your customers right and giving them a break on the small stuff...at the end of the day knowing that they have complete trust in you is one of the most rewarding feelings! Rock on!
motoYam82 Well it is a tricky balance I tell ya. Loyal customers are the best thing any small business can have IMO. With out them we have no business.
Could you do a video where you do a state inspection? We don't have them where I live so I am wondering what an inspection entails. Great channel by the way. Thanks!
a circus you artfully helped create ....your smile at that moment .... I will never know ..... give them a huge hug ..... your very lucky ....
Just started watching your channel a few months, its awesome !! The way you talk about diagnosing a problem or fixing something in simple words is great, The way you talk is down to earth and funny and your facial expressions make me laugh. Having your family in the videos show how real your world is. Please keep doing your video's and do more one day in the life of Eric O. I wish you were in the Cincinnati Ohio area, I would be a regular customer.
I've chain watched your videos Eric, I'm not sure if you'll see this message through all of your notifications. It would be great if you did more videos like this, they're fun, entertaining and very informative.
Dude you got it made! Great tech, awesome shop, beautiful wife and a sweet daughter! Keep up the good work man
Good to see you and your family again. Great content. Great family.
This is the man that made His american dream come true. Owes no money, owns his business, house and cars has a wonderful marriage and good kids. Not only that he is a brilliant mechanic and such a genuinely nice guy.
I admire your work ethic and your ethics towards business and taking care of your customers in an honest fashion!!
all right now, you are a grate impressive person, we all are very proud of what you do ya.
I use to have a local shop with a guy like you and it was amazing. The greatest care and service and then he moved out of state and I had to go find another shop and wow it's hard to find good honest people.
my local garage always had a few recommendations that we always said "go ahead". it's nice to see mechanistics like you to keep our cars going
i've been in the bussiness 25 years and you sir are one of the top i've seen, you take a pride even in mundane tasks.... Kudo's, that's a real indication of you wanting to do the best work. i've seen most techs i've worked/managed/hired rush through those "boring", " simple" tasks to get onto the "money makers"....thats in itself shows the level of pride, do every job well with pride no matter how big or small. As for the no pay check part....you said it. success is really on how much money you DON'T owe, if you owe nothing your a pretty dam successful man. and for the Subaru Guy.....FAST,GOOD,CHEAP you can only ever get two.
jim Macumber Well thank you sir and I will say you are 100% correct. Good, fast, OR cheap I think are the options :)
I got stuck in the old service truck the other day, and a few weeks ago one of the tire guys backed into something with the door open and damaged the latch on the door. I was on a service call for a downed truck in the landfill. I got out there, got it fixed and was heading back to the shop. Well that landfill has some treacherous roads. I hit a huge rut, the door sprung open and both hinges broke and the door was hanging by the wiring harness. I cut the wiring and drove it the half mile back to the shop lol.
asavage1576 Lol that is an awesome story. When I was reading and you said the door sprung open I was like Oh no he falls out haha. Hey now it's like an old Jeep right?
I had a 1976 FJ55 that my son and I put in a Chev 350 with TH 700R4. The rust got to it. I rewelded the flooring several time, but then I could not do anything for the frame. I love your videos.
Little Trinity is so adorable. I live five hours from your shop but if i ever need anything major done to my Toyota, im going to schedule an appointment guaranteed!
What a great video, real down to earth mechanic.
+bross956 ...and honest too.
Hi Eric I love watching you and Mrs. O . I like to learn from you!!!!
Eric....... This is the epitome of the American dream Mom & Pop shop. Inspiration to everyone out there and a great video.
Working my way through you videos. This was an oldie but a goodie. Loved the hide the nuts and bolts story. I had a neighbor kid come over to talk while I was fixing my wheelbarrow. Had to go get a tool and as I was putting things back together the wheel was missing. Checked all the places it might be with no luck. Finally asked neighbor and he looked around his place. Finally came over carrying a wheel and red faced. We had a good laugh over that one.
I watched this , instead of TV tonight. Best reality show around!
Me too, Eric's channel the best thing on free to air tv.
Yup WAY better than cable. Don't knw why I pay it.....
Amen!
Mechanic philosopher, I would like to hear more about your thoughts while you are working, I know when I am working with my hands my head thinks! It was a great video good to see your kids can see what their Dad does through the day. You provide a microcosm of the complexity of all life. Your problem solving skills are creative and novel and very valuable. I understand what you mean about repeat business but you are also under rating the years of learning that has gone into developing your diagnostic skills and creative elegant testing responses whilst juggling a business with grace and humility. Your sons have a lot to be grateful for to live around a man with intelligence, fallibility and humour. I have not watched TV since I discovered your channel!
Thank you for being a decent human being, no charge for a simple fix is going to enlarge your customer base. A true good mechanic
I love this Guy....Nice to see that I am not the only one who has those kind of days.
Got home from Church today. Started feeling under the weather. Watched SMA while resting and can't believe I watched the whole thing! Already have an appreciation for the small business owner but this just helped with building more appreciation and respect! Thanks Eric and family!! BT John 3:16-18
Thoroughly enjoyed that 'Day in the Life' video.
You seem like a naturally nice guy, I haven't seen anyone in England do this kind of thing.
I love your videos of repairs. I have been a mechanic since 8 yrs old. only problem I have is that I am deaf. I depend on test equipment's. my favorite tool is the test light to trace broken wire like a needle in haystack. I repair everything to automatic transmissions rebuilding, rear ends, engine rebuilding. all electrical problems. now I am a retired 72 grumpy old man in need of a closed caption on all your videos. I still cannot retire I am bored I need to fix something. Everything is just nuts and bolts. Take apart and replace what's broken.
Having done service station service as a teen, mechanic work at a wrecking yard in early 20's and a paralegal private investigator in later years I recognize good business sense and you have it in spades. I enjoy your videos, like your style and salute your honesty. Kids and parts may bring surprises but good parenting is plain to see.
glad your so busy. that is awesome and a credit to your name. great work and ethics
Love the story's man....I plan on taking the 2 hour drive this Spring so you can work on my car or SUV. Can't wait.
Just make an appointment ahead of time :)
So let em ring! We don’t mind it AT ALL! Great job!!!! 👍 Dave
Shame on you for letting one of these idiots get to you. Your one of the best out there. The level of attention to detail is second to none. I would love to go to your business for work. I thought about driving from Ohio for any major work. Love the channel. Stay safe and healthy
I really enjoyed this video. You are a lucky guy to be able to share your work life with your family. Plus, doing the occasional :"free" quick repair is the best way I know of to build a loyal customer base. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for watching Monte Hyler
Loved the video. Your blessed to have the shop and house paid for, and Vanessa in the office to screen the customers. That's funny...a Ford hat. Great stories and nice work Eric.
+wyattoneable Yeah it sure is a good feeling :)
You know, I know this post is way late, I just found it but, only people who are in business understand the daily life being you own boss. When I went into business, I was so worried the phone wouldn't ring. Than came the day when I cringed when it did ring, being so busy, I was 9 months out. It was a carpentry business which works mostly on word of mouth. Stand proud Eric, the phone ringing and the door swinging, are the sounds of a successful business, and 5 years later, you're looking pretty good!!!
A Day In The Life, love it: family, work, life. You brought a smile to my day.
Eric, you have awesome work ethics and its your shop- your rules. Whiners can get their own shop. Ringing telephone, door bell going off and other interruptions are a sign of a great business. Never apologies for the everyday workings of your shop. I learn everyday watching your videos and greatly appreciate your time, effort and desire to teach us viewers. I have been a small business owner for 25+ years and I know a great business when I see it. You are blessed.
New subscriber here. Love the videos man. How cool it is to have a family business with your wife working with you and your children close by and doing something you obvious love doing. I am a retired guy living in Florida for the last 42 years but born and raised in NW Pennsylvania and remember how rough the winters are on automobiles. Your videos are top notch and very enjoyable to watch and learn from.
Hey DC Rickerson , Thanks for watching, it sure is tough on vehicle in the winter for sure and is a huge blessing being with family all day :)
Fast forward and Eric is wearing a Jeep hat. lmao
MOPAR!!! HELL YEAH
"Bolt hiding" brings back a funny occurence in my childhood... Mom was doing dishes, and didn't hear me playing in the living room. She went to investigate, and found me laying on my back, under a stand table. I had found one of dad's screwdrivers, and had taken the leg screws out. The table was wobbling back and forth. Luckily, the table lamp didn't slide off. That was the first indication that I was mechanically inclined.
wow, the ignition key comp, thats a life saver. its over 100 to 300 on most vehicles
Could you do another one of these sometime? I thought it was awesome and appreciate you making it/sharing it :)
Can't tell you how happy I am I found your channel! Thanks for what you provide to us viewers!!
This was a great look at the actual goings-on at a shop. Loved it. Thanks Eric!
Great video of a typical day!
I'm actually surprised you don't have a vacuum or pressure bleeder. My wife used to be my bleeder assist until the one time I woke her out of bed at 2AM to walk through a foot of snow during a blizzard to our unheated backyard shop to bleed the brakes in my 53 Willys snow plow jeep. The line rusted out and I finished fixing it at 2AM and wanted to get back to plowing before the snow got too deep. I have a photo of her up on the lift while bleeding the brakes and I was getting "the look" so I bought a vacuum bleeder shortly after. I actually love the darn thing and prefer to bleed brakes solo now.
Chris
Lol sounds like something I would do. I actually do have a really nice pressure pot but for just one caliper I can have her come out for just a second... I usually gravity bleed it first so it usually only takes a pump or two
Your going to hit a million subscribers by the end of 2019. Definitely the best
Self made man 3.0.
Eventhough i am not my own boss, you are a inspiration to me.
Eric, you have a very nice, clean, and well organized shop. I’m envious.
LOL at your comment on Dodge being aftermarket. I wonder if a vehicle were to be built up from nothing but aftermarket parts if they would fit together and run.
+SirDeanosity not a chance!
Didn’t Johnny Cash write a song about that?
year one built a 69 camaro with all of their own parts...
That under coating is beautiful
In Germany it is called Mipa synthetic resin varnish, it is really good Stuff. You have to wash off everything with water and parts cleaner. If it is rusty, clean that rust of and use fertan as primer. Best thing is sandblasting if you can. After it is clean, dust and fat free, roll it on first thin and then thick. When it is dry, wax everything and don't forget to fill every cavern with Vaseline. Last one should sprayed in the caverns at around 120 degrees Celsius. If it gets hit by stones, it will close the hole by itself when it gets warm. Axle etc is the same thing, sweeping, cleanup, prime, Mipa, wax - done. Or powder coat it, wax and done. Never get that rust on my cars and I live in Germany in a saltbelt, I know your pain in NY
Don’t worry bro keep doing what you do. My dad is an old school diesel mechanic and he’s says your good and for him to say that you gotta be good . He says you were taught by some older mechanics . Loves your videos because you trouble shoot first. He says these new mechanics are part changers. Lol He said the day the computer came out was the day mechanics were all done . Keep on wrenching.
Thanks for sharing your time & day ! Many will understand ! You have many appreciative customers !
Great video, you need to do more of these!
anti0918 Thanks, I will as time allows

If you are in a service repair business all of this is typical day to day no matter how big or small. HVAC, PLUMBING, AIRCRAFT doesn't matter this is your day. I was a service tech for 30 years work for 2 fortune 500s. My integrity and word is what kept the customers.
I live in Scotland, but if I lived near you I would not hesitate to use your services, nice to see a genuine hard working honest person, all the best.
Excellent video Eric. I love the atmosphere of the shop and the fact that when the kids were running from the dog, you said that you wouldn't have it any other way! That is a high mark for your integrity and shows great family values. I am a mechanic from days past, but then I never thought I could do what your doing. Knowing what I can do and accomplish now, when I set my mind to it , I wish I had just jumped in with both feet. I enjoy seeing you accomplish something, I didn't have the confidence to try and tackle back when I was younger. I always thought of the negative things that could happen in owning your own business, or the car that I wouldn't be able to fix and that's basically what scared me out of doing it. You definitely got it going on and I hope to God that Mrs. O realizes just what she has and how lucky she is. I know good people and your good people. Take care and stay busy, with the family also. :) . Jpol.
Its a dodge, everything is aftermarket, i love this guy
Another interesting video - Thanks for the 'Day In The Life' Eric.
New to the session enjoyed every one I've watched. You do good work respect!! Over the years since I retired been repairing other crappy mechanics work. Glad you care for customers
Mrs. O has warmed up to the camera over the years…. Haha.
