This song has almost nothing to do with cocaine though. Even Slugs verses (who was an alcoholic/cokehead) were not drug related.

Grown man rap. Slug and ev are the underdogs we need. First saw them play maybe 15 or more years ago and they always improving. It’s a rarity and I’m glad we can gain from it. Absolute love to Rhymesayers.
grew up in the LA area bumping slug back from I Love Lucy days and mr. Slow flow has been on my radar since before joint rolling. To see these guys doing projects together makes smoking this joint feel like I'm back home and I'm kicking it in Uruguay.

Nas didn’t lie. He saw what was up. But the people that live and breath real hip hop took it off life support and resurrected the artform. It’s constantly evolving- but the ones that know how it should be done put de-fib on that heart and made sure this culture never truly dies. This won’t get the billion views some lame shit pretending to be hip hop gets but that has never been what hip hop is. It’s never been about dollar signs in the eyes when you look at the bedrock.

This is masterpiece and i don't use that lightly.The way they capture this and the FEELING,sound lyrics and everything.Not surprized from 2 musical geniouses.
Both of these MCs just wrote two of their finest verses. Slug's, especially, is an All-Timer for me. EVERYTHING GREAT ABOUT SLUG throughout his career showed up in that verse. This record is so HEAVY b/c of the subject matter, for one, but both MCs are like, 'that all you got?' Whole thing's a class act.
I really fucking love Slug's verse. Ev's is dope as hell too.

I don't agree. The reason why most of this generation is lost musically is because they are not exposed to ALL types of rap music. Back in the 80's and 90's you could watch Rap City and Yo MTV Raps and similar programs and be able to see PE, Kid n Play, Kool G Rap, 2 Live Crew, BDP, Slick Rick NWA...etc. You were exposed to the whole gamma of hiphop, either on tv or radio. Today is only mumble rap, reggaeton or corny pop/hiphop collabs. Now everybody wants to be politically correct about this nonsense. Fuck that.
