  • "If you’ve ever wanted to ride endless twisty mountain roads, the Idaho BDR will throw corners at you for days on end. You also won’t get many digital interruptions because your cell phone won’t have reception on much of this route. It’s a true off- the-grid ride that is long enough, at 1,250 miles, that you might just use up an entire rear knobby tire.
    Starting in the historic town of Jarbidge, NV the route crosses range lands and then heads into the Boise National Forest and treats riders with views of Andersen reservoir and epic alpine camping at Trinity lakes. Tiny towns and treasures like Burgdorf Hot Springs make this a bucket list ride for sure. You’ll travel where Lewis and Clark made history and experience the legendary Magruder Corridor and Lolo Motorway which skirt the roadless Selway-Bitteroot Wilderness. You will reach modest hints of civilization as you pass through Sandpoint, Bonners Ferry on your way to the Canadian Border."
    Apologies for how much this series had to jump around. The entire middle section was closed the first year, but it was worth it to go back.
    Hello!
    I'm Brady, AKA Mountainman, I've been a soldier, ski bum, police officer, government worker, photographer, and all around nomad. Now I travel on my motorcycle, make videos, and share them with the world. Along the way I do dumb stuff off road, camp, fly drones, take pictures, learn about culture and history and do my best to take you with me.
    In early 2022 I set off on my motorcycle Yennefer (2021 Tenere 700) for an adventure with no set destination or timeline. Come along with me and let’s see what will happen as I try to ride until I can't.
    Bike: Yamaha Tenere 700
    Luggage: Mosko Moto Scout Panniers, Backcountry Duffle, and Hood tankbag
    Navigation: Carpe Iter Tablet and Drive Mode Dashboard 2

    Gear: Adventure Spec Jacket/Armor/Gloves/Pants/Base Layers, Alpinestars Toucan boots, Arai XD4.

    Your movies are addicting man, so jelous. I have a T7 as well. Planning a NMbdr sept/oct. I know this is not a review channel, but I am sure there are plenty of people that would want to see a walk around of your bike/gear. Apologize is you already have one.

    Those log trucks are the only reason you have a road to ride on.

    • @MeerkatADV
      @MeerkatADV  Před 5 měsíci +1

      When did I say anything about wishing they wouldn't be there? Or that logging doesn't need to occur? I said they beat the road up, which is absolutely true. And that I don't particularly want to meet one on a blind corner, also absolutely true.

      As comfortable as it can be. I've been over 100 with it (actually rode offroad in 105 degrees the first time I wore it) and it's bearable. Nothing fun with those kinds of temps.

    Fantastic use of the drone here. Perfect following & perspective. What type of drone is it?

    • @MeerkatADV
      @MeerkatADV  Před 5 měsíci +1

      For most of it I was using a Skydio 2, they're no longer supporting consumer drones. For the middle stuff (Lolo and Magruder) I had a DJI Air 2.

    Apparently you did not get the memo. In Idaho, if you own a side by side the rules do not apply to you! We deal with that a lot around here. The area around Deadwood is really bad. All the idiots from Boise come and play there.

    Man, I am trying to get my setup for recording rides but I can't figure out how to setup a rider-facing camera.

    • @MeerkatADV
      @MeerkatADV  Před 6 měsíci +3

      I have a flat gopro mount stuck to the back of my GPS cradle and a metal extender arm to get it out from behind the GPS. You've just got to play with setups until something works, it's different for every bike.

    Regarding the side by sides? Dude off road protocol is you pass as needed, when needed, period. It’s nice to talk niceties and respect, save that for dinner out. Truth be known, the side by sides thought you were disrespectful…

    Side by sides shouldn't be allowed outside of designated side by side areas in OHV parks. Their drivers are the same jackwagons you find in BMWs and Teslas who have zero regard for anyone else around them
