- I'm taking a bit of an alternative route for my start of the TAT. From Liberty State Park in NY I'm connecting to the Mid-Atlantic Backcountry Discovery Route and riding it down to Damascus, TN where I will connect to the official TAT route. I seem to attract rain every time I'm in PA, but it doesn't make the riding any less beautiful.

I'm Brady, AKA Mountainman, I've been a soldier, ski bum, police officer, government worker, photographer, and all around nomad. Now I travel on my motorcycle, make videos, and share them with the world. Along the way I do dumb stuff off road, camp, fly drones, take pictures, learn about culture and history and do my best to take you with me.
In early 2022 I set off on my motorcycle Yennefer (2021 Tenere 700) for an adventure with no set destination or timeline. Come along with me and let’s see what will happen as I try to ride until I can't.

I like the T-7 choice of motorcycles for an ADV. I may get one once I wear out my XR650L? Or my back makes me! LMAO. Great videos. Always anticipating your stuff.

I'm at a breaking point on the gear... talked to you about the Tech Air Off-Road at GL Rally this year. I think the Tech Air Off Road with layers and a water proof jacket would be best for the top but I'm still a bit miffed about pants. Finding pants that are comfy for thicc legs is a PITA. I'd appreciate a recommendation. I am also eyeballing the basilisk jacket but my short ass arms make it a PITA to fit jackets, esp if sizing up for airbags.
@longbow0728 adventure spec makes some great riding pants, they have stretch built in. For bigger guys Klim is always a good option, very American cut.
Excited for this ride. I want to do this as well. I regularly plug your channel on my own and recommend your stuff. I fight wind noise a lot on my footage. Curious as to what mic setup you have? I have a GoPro hero 5 still, and it's just in a protective chin mount case that gulps air interference. Just bought a insta360 cam, but was curious what chin cam you recommend. Or if there is a mic setup I can buy? Thanks man! 🇺🇸
I have a Rode lav mic wired into my helmet. I kept it away from my vents and that helped a lot. Good sound is really difficult, you just have to play with it until you find something that works well.

So I’m confused, did I miss something? The title of the video is about the TAT but you’re riding the MABDR N->S… which, coincidentally I recently rode solo myself N->S, 2800 mi rt from CT, 14 days… also stopped at Couch’s which is when I saw you there I realized you weren’t actually on the TAT (yet?). I don’t see PA on the TAT maps at all. 🤷🏼♂️
Technically the TAT starts in Nags Head, NC. But it's almost all pavement until Damascus, TN. With going out to see the eclipse it just made more sense to do this and at least ride some dirt down to start the TAT.
So with the Tech off road vest, how tight are you wearing your other layers and backpack?
Alpinestars advises to have enough space to fit a golf ball between the airbag and your gear. The clothing layers all can stretch, and I loosened my backup significantly to give it room if I should set it off.
