This song is an anthem for introverts who want to break free. Are you a Zero, a "crime of love", born with no purpose in life? Or can you "climb high up" by putting your leather on, shaking it like a ladder to the sun and breaking free to live your life to the absolute fullest? It's crazy how the coolest band on earth can relate and cater to all of us weirdos so perfectly. Love this band so much.

Getting a leather jacket that studded with my initials and red inner lining has been on my life to-do list since 2009.
This is the song that defined the band for me - breathtaking surges of energy, remarkable vocals from Karen that are full of personality, infectious refrains, sublime sonic texture and sick instrumentals. Nothing else that they have released so far, even the recent releases, comes remotely close to this masterpiece. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they come up with something like this in the future.
It's the last day of January 2022 and WHERE HAS THIS BAND BEEN MY WHOLE LIFE? Literally don't remember anybody telling me about them, maybe I had a distant memory of hearing her voice on the radio in 2009 but that's it. This band is amazing, the vibes of the city are strong here.
The only thing I like about living in a big city is that music like this reminds me of it, idk how to explained it.

One of the best groups to come out of NYC in a llooonnnggg time.I remember when back in 2001,THE STROKES brought in that classic Rock sound,and right along with it came The YEAH,YEAH,YEAHS,INTERPOL,THE WALKMEN,and too many cool bands to name.I started buying records again because of this group,and others.YYY to the best.

It actually compliments and adds to the song; the transcendence of the grey, every day world by the fantasy inherent in the music, the self-depreciating humor of the punk style, self referential understanding of the protagonist as she sings to an audience that isn't there, while the real world goes on drably about her, the "you're a zero" acceptance of non-conformity with humor. This is punk, new wave.. it reminds me of my youth in the 80s. Just beautiful.
