    Also here is a pro tip I learned from working at a Toyota dealership's BDC. Set the appointment time on the quarter hour because people are more likely to keep the appointment time then setting the time on the hour or half hour. Also this is huge and I never knew this before but if a prospect doesn't answer the first time you call them, immediately hang up and call them back again. Many people won't answer calls from #s they don't recognize, but when you call twice in a row they think it is important and about 10% of the time the prospect will answer the phone on the second attempt. These two tips are game changers for me and I've been telemarketing for 15 years and never knew these prior to working at my dealership I work at now.

    Cody, you’re amazing, I’ve watched so much of your content. I like everyone I watched. A lot of your tips have helped me. I’m a new agent that got licensed in September. Since then I’ve placed $27k in business. So thank you. My goal is $166k next year for a full calendar year. As these cases get paid I’d definitely love to sign up for some additional events! Thanks so much for all this free training!

    When you “sell a drop off time” how does that apply to Health insurance? Typically I’m calling leads over the phone and closing on the phone. It’s only when someone asks for me to come out to their residence that I’ll do that.
    I’ve been watching a bunch of your videos and I enjoy the content a lot. I’m struggling on how to 100% apply your methods to health insurance. Mistakes 1-4 are super valid. Not sure how to proceed with the 5th.

    Cody, I don't want to be a "Negative Nelly" but, I just called eleven fresh FB leads. Only six answered. One hung up on me and one said I had to call her back, as she was walking into an appointment. So, using your method, I was only able to set four appointments in twenty seven minutes of calling.
    Who can deal with this kind of negativity?

    Hey Cody I have a pretty hard name to pronounce... you think I should use my last name instead?

  • @IslandGirlVA
    @IslandGirlVA Pƙed 5 lety

    how about if youll call a list with no names, just the name of the business. you dont know for sure who's in charge. What if you ask for the decision maker... then you actually spoke with them then theyll dismiss the call by saying its a wrong number or the person does not work for them anymore. its pretty hard to penetrate a lead when theres no name

    • @CodyAskins

    • @CodyAskins
      @CodyAskins  Pƙed 4 lety +2

      Great question! Just in case they have an issue with the carrier. There's no need to bring that up at first when you're setting the appointment.

    • @Bryan-om3wq
      @Bryan-om3wq Pƙed 4 lety +1

      Life insurance is typically paid out on death, there’s no middle men like dealing with P&C, there’s hardly any name recognition for life insurance. You could drop names like Mutual of Omaha or American General, and they will just nod. So the chances of saying a life insurance company to your benefit would be astronomically low, however if they had an issue with that carrier you’re auto shut down. If you don’t believe me, call on aged leads and when people say, “I already got insurance” ask em who their carrier is, 90% of the people don’t know who the carrier is, but they know how much they pay lol

    What about agents go around sale insurance policy’s and don’t tell you there late fee for getting insurance when open enrollment is and you never knew there certain time of the year for open enrollment but remind u that one time late fee it’s every month for as long you got that insurance but agents does not disclose that well every month it going be xxx amount and o since it out open enrollment period that xxxx amount so add xxx and xxxx that makes$$$$$$$$$

    When u ask "how are u", it breaks any barrier the prospect might have had...it means that you're polite enough to ask...don't matter if you care or not...its a good practice. Also the use of your last name may also be beneficial to u...it establish trust...there may be 1million cody, when you introduce your 1st and last name ..it tells the client that you're a professional and not just some randon dude name cody..this is the difference with appointments that are set and kept...try it with a smile..it works...all other points are very good...i just disagree with those 2...

No one really cares who we are so saying our first name and not our last name is perfect with me and yes your so right about not stating what company we are with because that just opens the door to OBJECTIONS!
