Money changes people and he realize he’s a big draw now and his fanbase so he said go out there and get beat up possibly he’s gonna make sure he at least paid if his stock drops. He didn't say anything about money , he was referring to the belt. Also if you know you're worth more and you're getting deliberately underpaid its common sense to ask for what you're worth. It's not just Strickland but his coaches , managers , nutritionist ect that are most likely charging him a lot more now that he is a draw(popular)

Izzy isn't the "guy at the bar" just because Alex moved up in position. They're in the same position. For example: Izzy is still in the UFC and might be fighting for the title next.

Its crazy up to now how some UFC fighters don't know how to deal with the UFC when it comes to pay. Coming to Social media outing his pay dispute with the UFC has never worked for any fighter. Jon Jones did it it didn't work so he hired a manager and its been quiet since. Ngannou did the same thing he is out of the UFC now. When dealing with the UFC in relation to pay you do it DIPLOMATICALLY. You keep it behind closed doors. You never hear Geathje, Islam, Kamaru complain about fighter pay because they are smart. This is the same Strickland that said he didn't care about Money or the belt. He is a HYPOCRITE.
On a long enough time line, every MMA fighter becomes dislikeable it seems.

Dana offered Strickland 175k/175k to fight Costa. Strickland had a dominant win over one to the best 185 champions ever second to only Silva. Strickland lost his belt in his last fight in a really close decision that even Dana thought Strickland won. And now they offer him crumbs and tell him to be happy for the opportunity.

I think the one thing everyone forgets when talking about Alex is the fact that he really just started getting into MMA. Similar to Francis, he had weak parts in his game early on and even towards the middle part of his career but then he evolves and that's what led to him destroying Stipe. Alex is only going to continue to get significantly better with each fight as he starts adapting more to MMA versus kickboxing. He's not out here beating chumps he's beating world champions and top contenders

Honestly incredibly lame on the UFC's part to try and make Strickland fight a guy who's 1 and 3 in his last 4 fights with Costa. Especially when Strickland is the guy coming off a heavily debated split decision loss to the current champ. The only options that the UFC should be offering Sean is an immediate rematch against DDP, or wait and fight the winner of Izzy vs DDP. Anything else would be moving backwards for Sean and you can't blame him for not wanting to do that

In fairness, Sean has quickly risen to one of the biggest stars the UFC has in the absence of a lot of its cash cows. Whether you like it or not it’s true.
