  • Many people come to Las Vegas wondering how much money they should bring, how can they save money on flights, hotel bookings, food, show tickets, transportation (bus, uber, lyft, taxi, shuttle, etc) and really just want to get the best value for their dollar. In this video I will give you 10 tips, plus a couple bonus pieces of advice, as well as three cash back apps to help you save money before and during your Las Vegas trip.
These are great options for those looking to do Las Vegas on the cheap who don't care about an expensive dinner at a fancy restaurant, paying high cover charges just to get into nightclubs on the strip, and would rather take advantage of the free and low cost entertainment options in Sin City. Fortunately there are plenty of attractions and things to do in Las Vegas that do not have to hurt your wallet! There are also cheap eats, restaurants, food and drink deals, etc. These travel tips can apply to your vacation whether you're spending most of your time on Las Vegas Blvd. or downtown on Fremont St. They will work for singles doing solo travel, couples, large groups, small groups, bachelor and bachelorette parties, as well as families traveling with kids (small children, teenagers or adults under 21).

Love this! Hard to do depending on what type of room or airbnb one stays at, but a huge savings on food is groceries instead of restaurants. Cardenas is an amazing Mexican grocery that has the best snacks, pre-seasoned meats to cook, and they even cook amazing food right there in store!!

One of the problems with the Strip buses is crowding. Sometimes standing room only. Plus the buses stop at every casino for people to get on and off. This makes for very slow travel at times. It can take an hour to travel the 5 miles to Downtown if crowded and with traffic jams on the Strip.
Walgreens and CVS also have ready made cold sandwiches for a quick snack.

i wanna add that you can leverage credit cards to reduce your expenses.
the chase world of hyatt card gives discoverist status. status match that to mlife pearl and get free parking at mgm properties. the barclays wyndham card lets you do the same with caesars.
i also noticed that the barclays wyndham business card grants wyndham diamond status. status match that with caesars, and supposedly you don't need to pay resort fees at caesars properties either. i haven't tried this myself, but pairing this with free parking and cheap weekday stays sounds like a way to really cut costs.

A big one also to save some money is bringing food and drink with you. The TSA has a list of items you can and can not bring on a flight and a good amount of food and drinks are acceptable. 9/10 times the food at your local grocery store is cheaper than Vegas.

About the CATS buses…I consider myself a seasoned travel, very accustomed to using public transportation. But I gotta tell ya…I have landed up in some interesting neighborhoods (NOTE: not bad or dangerous!) when using CATS, simply because the routes can be confusing - especially if transferring is part of the ride. And sometimes - particularly on the weekends - buses simply never show up. I waited 2 hours for a bus one Sunday morning about 10 am…I think going south on Maryland..and no bus ever appeared. Finally walked to my destination….Not happy that day…wasted a lot of precious gambling time! So, just sayin’……

Note: the resort fee may still be charged. I will try to convince them to waive it when I reserve the rooms. I was able to for the strat stay last Time I was in Vegas.
Hidden fees: parking fees. pearl tier rewards member, fee is waived for self parking. Valet parking is charged around 30 bucks per day, minus tip. It's called Ocean One Bar and Grille not Ocean Grill. Also it's no longer $4.99 it went up a dollar to $5.99 and the 3 for 1 cocktails went up $2 from $10 to $12 but regardless this vid is very educational on budget traveling in Vegas it just needs to be updated.

    11. Come to Reno/Tahoe instead. Best value for the dollar. And here's my challenge to all Jacob's followers. I challenge y'all to list things that you can do in Las Vegas that you can't also do in Reno/Tahoe

      Challenge accepted!
Cannot be in Paris, and then 10 minutes later be in Tuscany or ancient Egypt. Or a castle.
There’s no Haifbrau House in Reno, no Double Down Saloon, no Stage Door etc:
Though there is good food to be found in Reno, it can’t even remotely compare to the food options in Vegas.
No strat tower in Reno, no Bellagio Fountains, Mirage Volcano, Eiffel Tower, etc:
And again though there are various shows and entertainment options in Reno, they are not comparable to Vegas.
Reno has nothing like the Circa Pool or Sportsbook, or even the Westgate Sportsbook.
The canopy show on Fremont, yep nothing like that in Reno. I could go on for quite awhile, but I think I made my point.

@@TRMV but you're not really in Europe are you? We have cheesy themed casinos too.
And can you ski on the strip.
Or can you be on one of the most beautiful alpine lakes in the world. We have plenty of great restaurants including German restaurants. Sorry but your analogies don't stick. It's kinda like you're saying being at a Long John Silvers Restaurant is like being in the Bahamas

@@philmakris8507 umm you asked a question and it was answered, because you cannot understand the answer, is irrelevant. Your original question didn't mention things you can do in Reno, it asked what can be done in Vegas that can't be done there, asked and answered, again your failure to accept the answers is irrelevant.

Price match? Honey works for rooms? The last 15 purchases did not do anything. Live video at the Las Vegas sign. Free. Go in the week. Also in December. No one goes in December. WAY cheaper rooms. Avoid week ends . Wallgreens? Really? No cans or bottles on the FSE. Use a plastic cup that is supplied in the casinos. Mob Museum: start on the 3rd floor. Discounts can be found. ATM fees can be brutal. Use the room safe to stash your $$! I found that sodas were less than the rip-off gift shop, including your players card discount.
