- We discuss PREPARATION , INSTALLATION & SETUP of our ROOF TOP TENT on our 79 SERIES LANDCRUISER, getting ready to TRAVEL AUSTRALIA overlanding on our next Travel Adventures. We opt for the DRIFTA roof top tent because it is a lot lighter than other brands. We show all the preparation work we needed to do, removing the roof rack, installing roof bars, only to discover that our blind needed more clearance. We discuss what we needed to do to overcome the problem. We also show how to put the roof top tent onto a canopy and how to fully set up the roof top tent.

Gonna need a Matress topper (Ecosa) :-)
I think we will be ok because we like a really firm mattress. Everyone said that to us about our mattress in the caravan but we find it really comfortable without a topper. We will see how we go, we will soon know after a few nights and as we’re stopping at a few places on the way up we can always pick one up in Airlie or Cairns 👍

Bushcompany is the only way to go for RTT AX-27 and awning.
We know Bushcompany RTT are awesome BUT we’re trying to save weight and their RTT weighs 100kg and Drifta only weigh 64kg, their blind weighs 27.8kg and Drifta is only 16kg. 👍
So good guys can’t wait to see your top end trip. Love seeing how builds evolve. We are in the middle of a major vehicle update too 🤫

That sounds exciting guys… we’re hoping to leave Brisbane 7th April, probably stop on Sunshine Coast for a few days, hopefully go up Teewah Beach 👍
