Auf einer Europatour von My Morning Jacket waren THE HEAD AND THE HEART als Support unterwegs, und wir haben sie an einem der letzten schönen Herbsttage mitten in Köln vor ihrem Gig getroffen. Ihr mit Lob überhäuftes Debut bildet die Grundlage für Touren mit The Low Anthem und Death Cab For Cutie. Die sechs US-Amerikaner aus Seattle wollen sich bald Zeit für das zweite Album nehmen und haben für uns wunderbare Akustikversionen ihrer Songs "Down In The Valley", "Honey Come Home" und "Lost In My Mind" gespielt.

Twelve years later it's still amazing!!
Its getting harder and harder to find these old recording of the Head and the Heart. I love their striped down sound and how intimate it is. I like to imagine I am sitting in the bar in Seattle where these three first played and I get to witness it again for the first time.
Just want these guys to know my 4month old son stops crying when he hears your music. We would love to hear more of your music!

My wrist is broken my feet are broken I'm 38 and single with no close friends left and I tried to kill myself but I failed and thats fine because their is plenty of work to do but I do wish I died . But your song and your vibe , the rocking and swaying its how I feel except without the beautiful music so I didn't feel alone for a min . Thats all
"Loose Limbs" is my favorite song for them .. but I love the head and the heart more . . .

I have this really weird feeling that when the shorter dude spoke about being in the park in cologne, the tall dude didn't want him to say that. Like the tall dude thought it'd be boasting and that it was unnatural. The taller guy insisted he just mention cardinal session and nothing else but the short dude didn't think it was enough. The short guy wanted to say he was in Cologne, and he did. I feel this because of 2 reasons. 1. the way the short guy looks at the tall guy right after he says Cologne and 2. the reaction of the Woman and the tall guy alike. The woman laughs because he rebelled against the tall guy's simplistic idea and the tall guy had to pretend he wasn't mad and go on with the shot..it wasn't easy for the tall guy though as you can tell he's staring at the ground trying to not look obviously irritated.

What passerby reactions, doesn't appear anyone stopped to listen, maybe all they got was a glance. Shame, such beautiful music was taking place so near to those people.
