Yeah, he didn't quite get the supply he needed at Chelsea. Indeed, he could have worked at CFC, but was played outta position. I think he was a better secondary striker rather than an out and put point man. Chelsea made the same mistake with him LFC made with Robbie Keane. Crespo, was a very intelligent and technically able player, but if you look at him, he's a bit of a wisp of a fellow. He's not going to be able to go back win the ball repeatedly and link up with his mids. Hence, he was not really suited to the physical Premier League style. Another interesting thing is smaller players in the premier league tend to make up for their lack of physicality with speed. Crespo, certainly wasn't slow, he had adequate pace, but you could argue he needed another 10-20 percent.

My little story about this game. At the time, I had just been accepted for a tourism job in Gran Canaria. I received about 12 hours notice on the evening of 12th May that I was to get to Gatwick airport for the next morning, and fly to Gran Canaria. I looked at booking a hotel room for overnight, but they were all fully booked. Seeing as I had no choice, I figured I would get the last train to Gatwick, and then find somewhere to sleep.
When I got to Gatwick airport, absolutely everything you could possibly sleep on was already being slept on by Liverpool supporters. The pool tables, the benches, the tables, everything. So I ended up slumping on the floor, and not getting any sleep for the next 7-8 hours until my flight. I didn't get any sleep, and the flight was only 4 hours or so so I didn't get much sleep on the airplane either.
Eventually, I landed in Gran Canaria about mid-day local time, and I figured my new boss would take me home and I could get some sleep, and then go out and watch the game. As it turned out, my new boss took me on a grand tour of my new workplace, introduced me to a bunch of people, and by the time it was done, there was about an hour to kick-off.
At that point, and I hadn't slept for 24 hours, I unpacked my stuff in my new home and got changed and found a bar to watch the game. I was struggling to stay awake, and by half time Milan were 3-0 up, including 2 goals from Mr Crespo, and it looked like they were going to walk it. The rest of the people in the bar were acting like the game was over, and I was absolutely exhausted and it looked like Liverpool were going to get thrashed.
I left the bar at half time, and staggered home. The following morning, I walk into my new workplace, and everyone is in a buoyant mood, and it's not until then that I discovered that Liverpool had come back and won the game, and I missed it because Liverpool supporters had completely filled Gatwick airport. . .

I never feel rhat Liverpool get any credit for the fightback . They showed a lot of pride and fight to get back on terms . Also Crespo must have watched a different game to the one i watched . Milan played well , especially in the first half , but they were not as the commentator said " playing football out of this world " . They were the better side no doubt . More experienced across the pitch and very talented .. but Liverpool were no mugs . The road to the final proved that . They were slow at the start and as they chased the game , Milan exploited the spaces that they left at the back . Thats it in a nutshell really . Also Liverpool were the better side for at least 20 minutes , goals included . Could have been 4-3 for Liverpool at one time .. Riise's pile-driver at 3-3 was tipped over by Dida . More credit to Liverpool in the future if you please .
