  • Corriente Saddles fit horses very good. Take a look here as we try a Corriente Saddle Tree on multiple horses and see how it looks before we make a saddle on it.

I bought a Corriente wade tree saddle about 12 years ago. It has hundreds and hundreds of miles on it. Roped on it, rode in the rain, snow, drowned it in the pond. No sore spots or white hairs EVER! No sore spots on me either, lol! I keep it clean and oiled and dry when I'm not using it. Still looks and functions great. No torn leather or missing parts. Anywhere I ride always get compliments and offers to buy. If I ever wear this one out I would definitely check them out.

Could we see this done but with a tall lanky thoroughbred?

Not every single saddle will fit, I’ve gone thru about 20 saddles and none really fit, had a custom saddle made three times for a roping horse, was great at first then of course there are other factors, when we’re on the rode, his weight can fluctuate, wether he gains or loses weight the saddle won’t fit again, he has three saddles he mainly uses, his Skinny saddle, his healthy saddle and his Chubby boy saddle, my best advice, get a great saddle that can accommodate most of his weight changes, his withers height and frame. the fit around his barrel can be altered with shams or a nice custom Saddle Pad, you can buy 1in thick felt and make a custom saddle pad Sham or shams (if you can sew of course) and to fill or help relive pressure points, it’s a lot of work but if you want things for your horse you gotta improvise.
If I can pick up sewing just for my horses so can you.
I have three saddle from here, they’re average nice saddles, what would make them even better is if they offered a custom saddle fit kit and made the tree custom and keep the price point the same. Bruh, $$$$$$$$$ that’s my two cents. 😉

Letting us try out the trees would be amazing. Wish companies would start offering this service. Kudos to you for being willing to put your horse’s well-being at the top of your list!

Genuine question, saddle trees are old tech and do work for the most part. How come we have produced a reliable flexible tree that allows it to flex and bend with the horses back? I know some smaller saddle brands offer it but I hear they just aren't that good.
Why don't we have "soft trees", not treeless, just a soft and flexible type of tree that still maintains the weight of the rider off the horses spine but also can compress to fit the horse evenly?

According to a few horse chiropractors that ive talked to they say flex trees are really bad for a horses back. This is because instead of it distributing the weight evenly it pinpoints right behind the withers where most of the riders weight. This is really bad for horses with riders who are heavier. It all boils down to go with the option that benefits the horse and rider.

Wish you would specify whether the trees are QH or FQH we have a horse that both of our corrientes barrel and and association roper have made him sore no matter the pad blanket combo ect
He is not a big broad horse he is small he has mid size withers sore to the point he is grumpy when you touch his withers is what it is won’t buy any more corriente brand for him they fit all my big horses just fine

you said that it fits wery well but if you will use it with saddle pad underneat the bars it will not fit so you can't say it fits without a padding

I bought a wade last year from you guys and it sores all my horses right under the gullet on the right hand side. Leaves them sore and the hair grows back white.

shescountrysd Did the company ever try to make it right? I’m debating between ordering a Corriente or just dropping the money on a Jim Smith C3 which I know will fit my horse. There’s also Truth Saddlery and they have a tree kit to build a custom fit.

Not every single saddle will fit every single horse. Corrientes are amazing saddles but just aren't made for every single horse just like some really expensive saddles won't fit every single one.

How do they fit narrower horses who take a sqhb not a fqhb. He needs a 6.5 in gullet not a 7

    • @JumpingRider13
      @JumpingRider13 Před 3 lety +2

They do sit downhill. There was a video somewhere where a guy showed the difference between the new corriente versus an older sqhb model and it was super clear where the differences were.
Really unfortunate they stopped offering the sq. I’d be much more inclined to order but I know they won’t work.

This tree didnt fit a single one of your horses.... Yep the bars looked OK but it rode down in the front on every horse. That can change a 100% when its completely finished etc. But that wasn't a good example

I agree, there was a lot of bridging and absolutely no rock in these trees, i am appalled at the tree design, they sit exactly where I don't want them to.

In each fitting it is being placed on top of the shoulder/ scapula...way too far forward.

Only thing I done like is they only come in 7in gullet. Not really custom saddle if only one size. Not all horses use 7in. That probably my biggest hate about this brand.
Notice these are all stock horses with similar built.
Plus there is a zero return policy even if the saddle made wrong. Which why I choose not buy one.

Where you measuring the gullet width is incorrect the correct measurement is takes from behind the sweel
