Anyone still pissing and moaning about not using Crème de Violette in the Aviation, please go read the Savoy Cocktail Book. 🙄
Hey. I really appreciate that you showcase published cocktails which were tried and tested for years and not random recipes you pull out of the ass like most people posting on youtube does.
I love these videos! I happen to prefer an aviation with the Creme de Violet, but that's all just down to personal preference. Big fan of the Bijou
How To Drink The Bijou can be made pousse cafe style. Give it a try.
What is your sweet vermouth preference for this drink?
nicholas azak Antica Formula
How To Drink and that’s why I’m subscribed to YOU...did he say, “just the same as without, and just for color”? 👎
Omg the cherry, and now I’m done with this guy.
somebody's got a cold haha
Honestly some of the highest quality cocktail videos about mate, keen for me!
Maybe do a video about what alcohols you would recommend to have in a home bar including spirits, bitters, liqueurs etc
Boss you are an artist...the casual manner in which u make these cocktails has a distinct mark of finesse when one observes closely...I constantly follow you...thank you for all the great stuff that you taught us.
Can't ask for more.. New video from Bonneville. This day's already much better.
You my friend are the best. great technique, style and flare.
Great to have you back again on the screen!
I'm glad you are back with youtube Videos.
get well soon!
FINALY a new video. Much needed. Thanks for the inspiration and keep up the good work ! :)
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! Videos! Cocktails! Amazing! Thank you!
I love the Bee's Knees, one of my favorites as well. I also really enjoy substituting the gin for calvados/applejack for a nice fall drink.
Glad to see another video from you guys! I hope there's more!
Great surprise to see you again!
Thank you for the tips!
YES! they are back!!! :D
WE-WAND-MORE!!
An Aviation that isn't blue? Sacré bleu! Then again, I guess the sky isn't often blue in the U.K.
Aren't aviations purple?
😂 literally explained in the video but then again I guess people don’t understand English outside of uk
@@dongshenghan1473 His explanation is pretty flimsy though. The Violette isn't there for colour, it's the whole point of the drink. That's like making a Sazerac, skipping the Peychaud's and saying "ah yeah I'm not using them because they just add colour and a tiny cherry taste." Come on.
Love your videos! Simple, no-nonsense, to the point! Thanks :)
thanks for a video after a long time ...... will be expecting more soon
The best bartender in the planet.
Oh man! You can’t have an aviation without the Creme de Violette! It adds a floral note to the drink that helps to balance out the sugary flavor of the maraschino.
If you skip out on it, at least sub in something else herbal/floral.
Tbh theres 2 types of aviation. Aviation 1 and 2. 2 uses the viollete and the 1 doesnt
Nah, not a proper aviation without the Violette
@@phurbasherpa7441 Eh, not really though. The "other" aviation emerged from a corruption of the original recipe because Violette became mostly unavailable during prohibition. But just because a lot of people started making it wrong doesn't make the wrong recipe right.
Thanks man for your cool videos. I like your style
So glad you made a new one
Loved it! Making the Bees Knees tomorrow for sure.
I really have to visit you guys someday, London is still on my to-do list.
Your videos are spot on, there's more to Cocktails than just mixing liquids, you catch that "spirit" of what it's all about really well with your videos. Keep up the great work.
I had my first Negroni today. It was great, not too bitter at all, a perfectly balanced drink. In fact it did not even taste alcoholic. I had avoided this drink for long as vermouths don’t keep well so I never bought them until now.
Thus is a great channel! I love that you were willing to make a video while suffering a head cold. Great work ethic, great cocktails. I made all of these according to the recipes shown and they were simply sublime. Cheers!
Oh men, so glad you're back
Skipping the violette in an aviation? Heresy!
Not according to Harry Craddock.
@@RuairiGilles Except Craddock didn't invent it, Ensslin did, so his take is irrelevant.
Love it!!!!
Glad to see you back!!! regards from Costa Rica...
I WAS SO LOOKIN FORWARD TO A NEW VIDEO!!
FUC***' AWESOME!!!!
Greetings from Germany
Excellent presentation!
Yesss I have missed these videos!!
Just made The Aviation and it's on point! Thanks and cheers.
Here’s my recipe inspired by rich harvest of blue-berried honeysuckle in my garden. :)
London dry gin - 50 ml;
Fresh blue-berried honeysuckle juice - 25 ml;
Campari - 5 ml (one bar spoon);
Simple syrup - from 5 to 10 ml (depends on how sweet your honeysuckle is).
Shake all ingredients with ice in a shaker and fine strain into a cocktail glass, garnish with black olives and a lemon peel on a pick. :)
I named the cocktail “Burn” because of its color: it strongly reminds me of the cover of Deep Purple’s album of the same name. :))
Great to See you back, and those are some lovely drinks. I have always wanted to make an aviation but can't find Crème de violette, now I have no excuse 😃
"What's wrong with your fucking finger?" XD
I love your cocktail.
Just went out to the shop to buy all the ingredients for the bees knees and have successfully made it - SUPER GOOD :D
I Like the bees knees, it is one of the easiest cocktails to make. Using a 2:1 honey to water syrup works better than 1:1 on this drink.
thank you for this video!
hystrix
kaffir lime leaf 1 julian chopped
curry leaf 4
fresh turmeric 1/2 inch
lime juice -15 ml
chineese 5 spice syrup -15ml
agave syrup 5 ml
topped up with ginger ale
method : muddle fresh turmeric in base of shaker slap your curry leaf in and your julian chopped kaffir lime leaf. then add all other ingredients and shake well.. fine strain over crushed ice and top up with ginger ale
East London Liquor Company Batch 2 Gin, Silent Pool Gin, Portabello Road Gin and Martin Miller's Gin. That's a great line-up!
I tweeted you guys asking for more! :D Thanks for the video guys :)) Bees Knees looks amazing
Oh my goodness this is about the most happy day in my life! Been binge watching all your videos to the realisation you haven't released one in quite a while, thought it was a dead channel.. But you're back! Another great video keep it up definitely want to see more!
ah the bee's knees. hell of a drink.
Finally! Cheers!
I have a simple recipe hopefully for a future video.
"Aire Federal"
1 oz Mezcal, 1 oz simple syrup, 1 oz lime juice, 1 egg white, 4 drops Aztec Chocolate bitters
dry shake, then shake with ice and serve up. garnish with a lime wedge or flamed orange twist
Thanks!
yay you're back!
Great video as always guys! maybe do one with your favorite Prohibition era cocktails!
Creme du violette IS the aviation ! :) such a nice flavour and adds a light purple finish. Can be got on amazon and in france commonly in the supermarkets
Love ur channel!
Awesome you're back! Love the video! I was hoping for more Halloween drinks ideas but this is better. Hope to see more!
Aha-Aviation! One of my favorites...and the French 75.
Please make more videos, I love your content. suggestion for next video- whisky cocktail vol 2
Welcome Back!!!
VOLVISTE PELADO GENIO!!!!!!
Hey old sport we miss you.
Great videos, you deserve more likes/followers. Cheers
Very nice
Great work.. more videos plzzzz...
great video as always. bourbon cocktails next please!
Creme de Violette gives The Aviation it's blue color. It's supposed to look like the color of the sky and thats why it's called the aviation. :)
the background music is awesome
Great!!!!
More gin videos plz :)
great videos
its been too long. but im glad they are back
Nice to see you back, especially with another gin video.
Ever tried "Perfect Negroni"? If not, "Perfect Manhattan" might give you a hint.
Also you should have a go at the recently awarded worlds best Gin Tonic. Proud to be Swedish 😃
Keep up the good work!
at last... u r back....
waiting for ur videos for so long mate....
even tried contacting u via facebook but that page just showed me restaurant contacts....
aviation looks amazing....
Please more more more.
Try a Fitzgerald! It’s great! Lemon juice, gin, butters!
I'm going to make bees knees snd enjoy
i would love to see whiskey cocktails vol 11
I just straight up use honey for that bees knees.
can you do a cocktail bar setup video with all your barware and costs ect for anyone wanting to make these cocktails at home
Yay! Welcome back!
I personally feel the violette in an Aviation adds a wonderful dimension to the drink. Creme Yvette is another excellent option for a slightly fruitier drink.
I've seen many Southside variations with lemon juice instead of lime. Not sure it can be called a Southside in that case, but it is a delicious variant.
Finally, what *is* wrong with your finger??
Hello could you please do a video about the top cocktails for men??
Master, we need a Gimlet here!
Very nice video keep up the good work! I have a question to the Negroni I tried to mix one and as gin I took Bulldog and as a sweet vermouth a very old martini from and mother it tasted more like medicine. Do I have to watch out which gin goes well with a specific vermouth and if so could you maybe give a recommendation?
Awesome vid! What type of honey should be used for the syrup? Jar honey which is firm or bottle honey which is more liquid?
top 5 nightcaps
top 5 drop shots
top 5 layered drinks
top 5 creamy cocktails
top 5 colorful cocktails
KingofNothing 420
Top 5 drinking games (like Titanic)
The only reason that the 2 dashes ofCrème de Violette was in the original Aviation cocktail was to give it a sky blue color (thus the name).
Do a video with 5 cocktails you mean, everybody HAS to try and make please. Cheers from Denmark
what honey do you use for the syrup? tasmanian Leatherwood?
thanks for more videos sir can you please make a videos on only sours
is there a specific brand of gin that you personally like with high juniper content in the London dry category
Nice
Amazing video, just gotten into gin and I needed some good recipes
I can't help but think he might have a cold, sounds a little stuffed up
great to see you back ...I have a little request: a video whit some Jaggermeister cocktails? thanks...
Is the honey syrup you make reduced over heat, or just straight mixed?
Hello, I'm beginning to mix my own drinks but I need to know a little more about the ratio's and things alike, can you help me!?
I actually think the violet is what makes the aviation so unique. However, the whole 1/4 ounces that a lot of people use is way too much. Should just be a couple of drops/a dash.
what do you do with the drinks after you make them for videos?
If you could only have 3 gins behind the bar, which ones would you pick and why? Also, if you have any plans to do an Aperitif/Fortified Wines video featuring Sherry/Madeira/Port/Amaro/Byrrh/Cynar etc that would be awesome!
Please if you like do volume III of Gin cocktail , old gin classic cocktail mixed with dry white vermuth. Is something possible?
LoL ,,cold,, ice 😂😂😂
Wow
Hey man! What about wine cocktails?
been trying to come up with a special cocktail for the bar i work at and was wondering if you could showcase it in Subscriber cocktails vol. 3, if you do one
The Mint Kiss:
35ml Silent pool gin
15ml Triple sec
15ml gomme syrup or sugar syrup, gomme is just what i have at work
6-8 mint leaves
stir until chilled
serve straight up and garnish with an orange wheel with a mint sprig in the centre.
Love the videos.
We'll put it on the long list! (if we do another one)
Why not make a video about your favorite gins? And how do you make it into a perfect serve gin&tonic? Garnish according to the botanicals, etc ... explain which flavours you experience when tasting it. Sort of like an online gin-tasting ;-)
Cheers and thanks from a big fan of your work!!!
