Everyone is saying that the new layers are meant to be a reference to the alien queen scene in Aliens as it was apparently heavily orchestrated
I wish they kept the 1-3 layers the same but the chase music is really good, especially with aliens "growling" in game
If they did people would complain that the chase sounds nothing like the terror radius
It’s my favourite one in the entire game, it feels movie-like as well which really fits it
the PTB version included the nostromo's alarm in the theme which was really cool (thats the window wiper noise which we heard lol) but it got annoying fast, im really not a fan of the 3-4 second loops like with skull merchant's theme, its so repetitive.
The new one sounds very similar to the soundtrack used in the original movie, or is at least in a very similar style, and it has a longer loop too and is more pleasant to listen too, and like you said its more classical horror, so it works so much better.
The chase part of the terror radius from the PTB is a bit better, just too repetitive for sure. It gives you sense of panic and makes him more creepier than the current one, which makes the Xeno rather more intimidating.
But both of the themes are very a well done, tbh.

The only reason I prefer the PTB version is literally and only the intensity of the chase when being chased by the xeno.

I love this new theme so much, it went from a 1 second loop to a 30 second loop, although I find the 8 meters sounds more intense than the chase itself, I think it’s because of the strings, I would’ve loved to see the strings carry over and the chase not be dominated by drums. Other than that personal critique I love it
If Michael F. April don't know how too make better music by most people. BHVR should bring in any score composers that should co-score with him just like they got Akira Yamaoka for Silent Hill chapter.
I love it, it perfectly fits the alien Xenomorph

I think everyone thinks this one isn’t nearly as good is because the old one was reminiscent of alien isolation, the video game that came out back in the mid 2010s. Either one sounds good because this one works on the movie part and the old one works for the other video game the xenomorph is in, however I prefer the old one

They should’ve never changed his PTB theme it matched him way better than this 😢
