✎ He began weight training at the age of 15. He's widely considered to be among the greatest bodybuilders of all time. He has remained a prominent presence in bodybuilding and has written many books and articles on the sport. In 1984, he appeared in science-fiction thriller film The Terminator, which was a massive critical and commercial success. He has appeared in a number of successful films, such as Commando (1985), The Running Man (1987), and Predator (1987). His breakthrough film was the sword-and-sorcery epic Conan the Barbarian in 1982. He was nicknamed "the Austrian Oak" in his bodybuilding days, "Arnie" during his acting career, and "The Governator" during his political career. In 2011, he completed his second term as governor of California and returned to acting. He became a naturalized U.S. citizen on September 17, 1983. In 2011, Schwarzenegger founded the R20 Regions of Climate Action to develop a sustainable, low carbon economy.

I had a dream. At age 37, I decided to start lifting weights. My goal and my dream was 100 kg in bench press before I turned 40. One week before my birthday, I did it .... the tears ran down my cheek ..I could not believe I made it..I went to the gym in 3 years almost everyday with my clear goal.When I told people about my Dream , everybode says: why ? You will not make it ! Everybode was so negative about my Dream...you are to old and so on. So if you have a dream...please go all in !

Per Folkesson Mel Robbins once said that admitting your goals is embarassing. I guess she is right, as most people are not able to achieve their goals as commiting is too scary if you do not have vision. So they talk you out of it. I am happy to have people around me who are supportive

Evan Carmichael, there are other versions of Arnold's rules for success. One of my favorite lines he has when he's talking to graduates, is when he talks about working hard - he says "Just remember, when you're out there partying and horsing around, someone out there at the same time is working hard, someone is getting smarter and someone is winning - just remember that!" Besides working hard, this idea can be strong motivation to push yourself or you'll be falling behind - not reaching your potential. Anyway, I love that!

Thank you for sharing this brother! I have always had the difficulty with starting things and sticking through to the end. Much has changed over these years and most recently a decision to learn something I've never done before. I am dropping everything here in Colorado, moving to Seattle where I know no one to specifically work on this goal with no other intention but to train daily to accomplish it. I have come across a couple motivational videos from Arnold these past two days, this one being one of them and I am implementing EVERY SINGLE ONE on this journey!!!

I remember when I was 13years old, I watched the commando in my village in Ghana. At 18years I saw the Terminator 2 pasted on a cinema board in Kumasi city, couldn't watch until I was 25yrs, and since then it became my favourite. Now at 46 I still picture where I first saw you in action, at compound in my village. Thank you Arnold.

It touched my heart and I remember other important people in my life saying at one point or another; "You have time, you make the time!" and that is just such an important concept. I definitely made the time to see my mother who was dying of cancer with my newborn son & she made the time for us as well. She attended his 1st birthday party & died shortly after on Thanksgiving nite after spending it with all of us. She kept calling us over & giving us words of wisdom & telling us how much she loves us. Love You, Mom

Amazing Arnold makes it sound so simple because it is actually simple... You have a vision and commit to seeing it through no matter what... that's Arnold's biggest jewel of wisdom. "Do whatever it takes CONSISTENTLY no matter what..." This is so freaking true. The problem is, like he also said, most people do not even define their vision (what they want to be and where they want to get..) clearly so they get lost without real direction. You must have the vision and the plan. Then do whatever it takes consistently, every day, every month, the whole year and then the next.
Everything I ever saw through from beginning to end was either at some level successful, completely successful and if that was not the case I ended up becoming fully aware of why what I'm was doing wasn't working. Again, Arnold makes it sound even naive... as in " duh... I've hear it a million times and I know that .." But the power of what he's saying is far reaching indeed.

very nice story. Very inspiring! sad is that i am now after 30th with no chance to achieve so kind of success. you have to start at early 20th. do you have some movies about peole after 30 who become famous , happy etc ?

thank you very much for your answer. but still i think that age is a problem in some kind of ways. For example i always was watching on Arnold as on an ikon. I was training a lot. But life roads makes me to leave training and go to work to earn money for my familly. I always wanted to be like Arnold, be like him, make movie etc. the clock is ticking , i am getting old , now i am 33. I don't see any chance to be what i always wanted to be. All the more so since it lives in eastern Europe not in America. Life is ruthless sometimes. i am just lost in my life. For last few years i have got this feeling, that i dont life with life i wanted to. From outside it looks like i everything is okej. but inside i feel terrible, feel pain and burrning. I feel that i lie to everybody, my wife, my kids etc that everything is okej. but it is not. i I can not forgive to me, that i got out from road which I choice in my young age. then was time to make good choice. maybe i am in depression a little bit. Sorry i am annoying for you. Will be gratefull fore some more advice.
