Thanks for all the years that you've been dedicated to sharing this information, Dave. It's truly appreciated!
I met Dave and Iris Canterbury today in Servierville Tenn. , let me tell you they are two of the most friendly people you will ever meet. Thanks for the sharing of wisdom and keep up the good work.
Excellent and simple instruction. So simple, a city boy like myself can do it. Thanks for your dedication to this craft. I`ve been watching your teachings since late Feb or early March, and I must say that it has been life changing. God bless you my brother.
i still enjoy coming back and rewatching to see if i can pick up a tip i may have missed. i can honestly say that i have learned so much from Dave and utilized that new found knowledge in the field.
Thank you Dave! Very encouraging. God bless yiu snd your family.
Brilliant use of toggle and double-loop slip. Put it muscle memory, already. Can't wait to use it afield. Thanks.
Good set of videos.... Good information for the beginners.... For camp entertainment - either on the trail or car camping - we used setup our stuff in a few minuets then set back and watch the fun as others tried to set up.... It can be real entertaining watching others try to figure out a new tent or tarp they have never even opened before.... Of course we helped them if they asked....
Because of the size of our family we used to car camp a lot. It was a fun way to see the national parks. You would be surprised at how many people would pull in and unload a station wagon full of band new stuff still in the boxes. lol They usually had no idea of where to start.
These are great instructional videos.... My grandkids love to watch them... They have learned a lot from you.
I love that your candle lantern chimney has wax on the glass. Mine too! Those are the details you notice when you use your gear :)
Thanks man. All this stuff and advice could come in handy in the future
Seems to be the fastest shelter, plus cozy, great shelter Dave, Thanks
dave & school thanks for all you have done I'm a rookie when it comes to being in the bush but i love it & my sons love it as well quality time that helps us bond thanks were from Texas but when we save enough you will see us at the pathfinder school
great video..much respect...safe journeys
Great video dave thanks for sharing, I saw this in one of your older video's year's ago and I tend to use this method alot when I'm fishing as a shelter for the day or night as it's much lighter to carry along the river bank and is alot cheaper than the fishing bivi's I see my friends use.
it has given me a nick name as the "river bank tramp" by other fishermen passing ,I just smile and say the fish don't seem to care😊 .

Thanks again Dave, always a pleasure.

I really like your simple camping series! Please dont't forget to Cover Hygiene !?
What's it like for ticks there? I know in South East Saskatchewan I'd be steady pickin ticks with a grass bed haha, but man that looked great! Thanks Dave for your vids. They are a great 5 minute escape from everyday life, and I always learn a couple tips. Loved that knot for the toggle with the tree setup. Perfect!
Love your videos and all the information you give very good to understand and very effective.. Thanks and cheers from the Netherlands
Good video Dave, and thank you for all you do. Keep the videos coming.
Boy a bed like that would drive my hay fever nuts lol
Great job bro
What do you do about ticks?

Great Series Dave!
Thanks Much!
I love your videos. What kind of shelter do you prefer for winter?
Dave, will you do some canoe videos? I remember something called an "Ad Hoc Canoe" that didn't get put into production, but a video on how to make something like that would be a great idea.

Got a link to that light you're using. Is the Materia medica series over? Love what you do. Great tips. Thank you!
thank you Dave...fantastic!
Excellent.
👍👍👍 THANKS
Super! Thanks again. Can You loose the nodes easily even if the rope is wet and the fibers are swollen?
Dave, Do you think the Rock Sling or Shepherd Sling could be used as a survival tool? Have you ever used a rock sling? Thanks
How well would the Plow Points configuration hold up in a storm, or is it better to just find another tree and go with the classic A-frame? Thanks from Texas for all the fun videos!
I've noticed using a few more wooden stakes pinning down the other tie out points holds it very well in bad weather. and to add a few guy line's if necessary.
Can you show this with a rectangular tarp? You mentioned using one to make an awning in part 1.
I didn't catch if you said it....what size was the tarp in this video? 10x10, maybe?
8x8
Lived on Sailboats for over 20 years, you have a knot that I've never seen, what is it called, or is there a name for it?
Love to see if you have OTHER knots, as I agree with what you said "I don't like knots that I can't get out of things"!
;Peace)
where that straw come from? lol good lookin shelter set up.
From the field adjacent my woods, we call it bed straw, most call it weeds
Dave do you buy the gum blankets you use from somewhere, or do you make them from rubber roof sheeting?????????
Hello! Keep it up.
Is that an 8x8 tarp?
I am looking for a decent oil cloth tarp but don't have a lot of money is there any suggestions that you have that would hold up and also be fairly inexpensive also
Could u drop a link to where u got that awesome tarp I want to purchase one for myself. Thanks
When is the pathfinder gum blanket available?
hello the best of the youtube videos out there, saw one on full brass shotgun shells from midway u.s.a. did not find it do you have a item no. to look up need help ty keep up the godd shows
ty found on magtech site thanks any way lol
whats the name of the brand of coffee that you drink called
Where would you recommend to buy a gum blanket from?
that man can sleep anywhere!:)
how much does this set-up weigh?
what's self-reliance outfitters largest distributer in the UK? Anyone from UK got a link?
I'm assuming from this that the wind blows fairly consistently there, here you couls go to sleep and get woke up 2 hours later with the wind blowing into the shelter.
