I discovered this panther a guy at work and I have jumped straight into the cultural medal if you will. There’s a lot of Norwegian folk metal around but lately I’ve been listening to Brazilian Peruvian, Chilean, Maori, and Chinese folk metal it is amazing to see these vans used instruments from their culture in their songs.

Grettings since México city.... Cemican uses old aztec instruments (like flautes and drums) whit the new instruments.... it's an honor for me live in mexico and have this awesome prehispanic history
I don't like the"pre-hispanic" tag at all, think about it, it's kind of sad to use your invaders and nemeses as the reference for this kind of metal, is like calling Viking metal "pre-christian" metal. This is MEXICA METAL!
MIXTECO= Is a southern tribe of Mexico, which as of today is one of the greatest cultures which got divided in 3 states after the bloody invasion into their culture...currently MIXTECOS are in the states of OAXACA,PUEBLA and GUERRERO in which they currently fight not to disappear against bloody cartels. But here we are....
The Aztec/Maya/pre-Hispanic Mexican culture how to have an instrument that’s just like the didgeridoo I think it’s called a Hom tah? I might be mistaken on the spelling though
Quetzalcoatl the god of beauty, light and art is defenetly an aztec god described by the people like a shining god minsuderstood by some Other people like a White god

i'm agree this song isn't diferent from others, so i suggest you this band Xipe Totec XD they are more heavy and sometimes sing in náhuatl (aztec dialect) the song is Eztlacuani
This is a wonderfull cultural influenced band. Please react to MYRATH - MERCILESS TIMES. This is metal from a Tunesian band. The vocals are in English. You will really like it!
About the corn, you have to understand that to aztec, chichimecas, mayans etc corn was the source of life, according to their story their God tried to make man out of different things and as they fell everytime the gods turn their faliur into different animals, till they tried to make man out if 🌽 so my guess is when girl peals the corn represents the man loosing his life.
I subbed! I just found out about this band. I hope they mix the native instruments with the metal sound in a way that works. It would be pretty cool I bet. I think the video has to do with the native background that most Mexican folks have. I'm assuming based on all the dna result videos i've seen on youtube. I'm done ranting. 😆 \m/ Stay Metal!
I agreee, If you asked before maybe I would recommend something more folklorik and underground even in Mexico, like Xipe VItan Jai; a band that used to play different instruments and somethimes you can swear that wouldn't be Metal music
I can reccomend a culturally infused band for you if you haven't already looked them up look up "Wagakkiband" they are a folk metal band from Japan, I reccomend the song "Senbonzkura"
If you want a band that mixes different genres, then defienetely check out Flogging Molly. It's an American-Irish band that mixes punk with celtic and irish folk music. Definetely check out the song Drunken Lullabies.

The only Spanish I have learned I learned on Sesame Street. And I love this band I know a couple of other Spanish words, but I don’t think you need to know words to enjoy music.
Except Sepultura's music is more influenced with Indigenous/Traditional Brazilian folk music. This band seems to be influenced with Aztec, Mayan & other Mexican precolombian music. The only comparison i see is they both influence Indigenous folk music but not the music style.

Totalmente de acuerdo, ya hay que ir dejando de decir "prehispánico", somos mexicanos o aztecas o americanos o mesoamericanos.
También hubieron vikingos cristianos

Some of their other songs like "Guerreros de Cemican" have the traditional instruments more audible throughout the song.
