    The flameouts always happen when you would least want it to do so.
    Tight quarters where you have to slow down to slower than 1st gear chugging is where it does it most, and there's plenty of that terrain here in New England.
    Also, it occasionally flames out and stalls while pulling up to a stop sign.
    Happily, all of that noise goes away with the Vortex ECU.
    Beside the Vortex ECU, another mod I did to improve throttle response and control was to install genuine Honda throttle cables from a 2021 CRF450R.
    These are much shorter in length and do not route forward in front of the handlebar, beside the headlamp, and then back in a big, looping arc to the throttle body.
    Instead, they exit the throttle grip, go down behind the handlebar, route just above the radiator, and then back to the throttle body.
    The routing is very short and sweet, and the results are sweet, too.
    With the stock cables and routing, mucho throttle grip free play is needed in order to avoid no free play and a sticky throttle grip when turning the handlebar full left to full right.
    So much free play, it makes for sloppy throttle control.
    With the shorter throttle cables and more direct routing, I can set free play at the bare minimum and it will not change any way I turn the handlebar.
    The result of the minimum throttle grip free play is a direct, precise throttle action and feel.
    I learned of this from another CRF450RL rider on CZcams and I am so glad I tried it.
    It's one of those mods that's cheap, easy to do, and brings big rewards while riding the bike.

    I have this bike and it's still stock, and if I'm honest with myself you're a more capable rider than I am. I don't have issues on my klx300r but this bike is twice the power. I think the price range attracts a lot of people who won't admit that they aren't capable enough to ride this bike well. When I see you ride though I can honestly say that my skill level could definitely improve, and i'd bet most my issues with this bike would be resolved.

      Sounds like you got the right bike The reason I say that is because once you build your skills in the stock trim and you feel your ready for more power change the ECU and put a complete after market exhaust on it It will be a whole new bike for ya that rips!! Also you got to remember this is this guys home track so he should and does good on it Good video best part was at the end when he gets sloppy

    Yep, I see the sugar sands.... lovely stuff but as you corner w/ the bike, have you done anything to the front suspension yet
    and I only ask b/c it looks like she's "bunching up" in the hard part of the turn? My words aren't the best descriptive for this
    but it looked like the suspension bounced 2-3 quick in/outs. IDKnow what to call it but if the suspension is stock then I'll
    kinda know that it might need to be upgraded. Anyhoo, nice day to ride.

    if i get this bike
    i think the G2 Throttle tamer and maybe the 7 oz flywheel could smooth things out?

      I have this bike and changed the ECU a must in my opinion I did the exhaust full after market yoshi My bike now rips! It doesn’t flame out at all and I didn’t need to change the flywheel. It really sucks having to put a lot of money into a new bike but this bike requires it
