- There are so many games that gel with us so well, that we cannot imagine them not catching on with the wider public. Every year there's bound to be numerous games just like that. Here's our list of 15 games we wish more people played. This list of games includes titles from a variety of time periods and genres.
Some recent games have underperformed despite receiving overwhelmingly positive critical reception: these include Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Pacific Drive, and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Other games on this list are relics of a bygone era that deserve revisiting, such as Morrowind, Jade Empire, and the more modern Evil West.
Mad Max, Prey 2017, and Sunset Overdrive all manage to offer wildly unique gameplay experiences within a satisfying structure. Yet others like Contradiction: Spot the Liar and Psychonauts 2 represent the very best in their niche genre.
The final games on this list experiment and break the mold with their creative vision, these are: SOMA, The Outer Wilds, and Dreams. - Hry

Mankind Divided is so good, and now we’re just sitting here with a massive cliffhanger ending that’ll probably never be resolved. I really hope some life can be breathed into that franchise.

Both A Plague Tale games are incredible and deserve more recognition than they currently have. They are severely underrated
I absolutely loved them but the second one emotionally crushed me.
The fact that there is only one “Days Gone”and multiple “Alone in the Dark” is just bull 💩

More people need to Play the Judgement games by RGG. Easily some of the best stories ever created by the Yakuza franchise

Dark siders is an amazing franchise that close to no one talks about The games are always on sale for incredibly cheap prices and I can’t recommend them enough

These "most underrated games" lists are starting to have the same games over and over lol like Mad Max, Prey etc yes they're all underrated but at this point i've come to expect them on this list. I'd like to see other underrated games that aren't always the same ones.

Mad Max is the only game I wanted to Platinum but couldn't because by the time I started playing it WB had already shut down it's servers 😞
Feel like when games with trophies/achievements that get nuked when servers get shut down should get an update unlocking anything tied to them when that happens.
I played the game relatively early and had one trophy left to get for the plat, but the enemies i needed to spawn to kill didn't as i had completed the story & beginning again at the time seemed tiresome so i decided i would come back to it after some time away but alas i waited too long.
Mad Max came out the same day as MGSV:TPP. I think that is the primary reason it was overlooked.

It's background noise. Not even second monitor content. They know that, and with that in mind, I don't blame them for not putting more effort into topics and research. Pretty sure I see you comment something similar on every other video from them. Why does it bother you so much?

Add Singularity on that list, this is a real underrated game that couldn't evolve due to poor sales, yet the gameplay and story, are just charming like a sci fi movie.
I wish more people played the Torchlight games. Great hack n slash ARPGs.
I enjoyed the first and third one but missed out in the second game. I plan on getting all three eventually.

Hunt Showdown is the best game I've ever played. Been playing since early access.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is a masterpiece, as well as SOMA. Also Singularity and TimeShift; all games that deserved much more

Mad Max was definitely slept on. That game captured that road warrior, post-apocalyptic vibe very well. POP: The Lost Crown is alright, but I'm not feeling the 2D platform aesthetic, plus the protagonist looks a little like music artist Jon Batiste. 😂

I wish SOMA and CONTRADICTION had physical releases! Nothing irks me more than great games dying a digital only death.
I actually got a Soma tattoo a couple years ago bc I love the game so much.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning and Sackboy: A Big Adventure are a couple of underrated games
100% definitely agree on Mad Max. That game is so good!! Just got to know it thru video on CZcams. And I think not many try it bcuz it seems like a tie in to movie video game, but it sure is more than that. Another good add to the list would be Astral Chain imo.
Im surprised not many people know about the classic Descent games back in mid to late 90's.
I have Mad Max on my Xbox and I have played some of it. I can honestly say that I am not too thrilled by the whole Chumbucket concept, but I will continue to play the game.

I remember being so excited for Mad Max game, Fury Road came out the same year, life was good. I 100% that game and was sad it never got a sequel.

@@dabro1569 ya I remember being bummed Abt that as well. They had so much opportunity wit that game there could have been so much more during a sequel. There was just so much to do like fighting in the arena and playing the mini game with the dragon fly. So much was possible
More people should play Aeterna Noctis. It’s a masterpiece metroidvania. Solid combat, fantastic traversal, big map, good music, huge enemy variety, movement isn’t floaty, good boss fights, and much of the writing is actually pretty funny in a good way.
Granblue Fantasy Relink: Great characters, super gameplay focused and fun, interesting story, no microtransactions, infinite replayablitity. Huge completion rates.
The world will wish they had played Detroit: Become Human in the future when AI becomes part of our lives.
Hunt Showdown is so underrated. What a good game!!!

The Lost Crown is extremely good. Way better than I expected. So much so that when I played Metroid Dread, I just wanted to go back to The Lost Crown
Yes. That Prey Reboot was such a great game. But it looks like that we never get a sequel to that
I found Marvel's Midnight Suns to be a fantastic game despite the poor reception it got.
And my personal hidden gem is Paradise Killer.
Still waiting on the physical relesse for paradise killers to buy it
Shrek games, spiderman games from the 2000s, Narnia, HP games, theres a lot to choose from. 2010s for gaming has been hit or miss, mostly miss, theres a plethora of old games ready to be replayed.
Definitely Mad Max and I'd add two older games: One is Enslaved: Odyssey To The West. I think the makers of Horizon may've taken a bit from that game. And also Ryse: Son of Rome. Neither were "great", but just really cool games.
Mad Max was so much fun! Great story, great atmosphere!

Jade Empire was fantastic. I'd love a remake, remaster, or just another Jade Empire game.
Game that came to mind was Immortals Fenyx Rising. I genuinely thought the game was great and sequel could have been do good.

You forgot Sleeping Dogs. Excellent game. I was excited about Pacific Drive until I found out it was considered “souls-like”. I don’t want to invest in frustration.
Imo:
Dark Souls 2 SotFS - an Amazing experience when a person stops blaming the game and truly gets good
Sleeping Dogs - Like GTA but with much better Melee combat
Arkham Knight - once the car controls 'click', again an Amazing experience
Devil May Cry 1 - even though over 20 years old with original PS2 controls, one of the best combat and atmospheric games ever made (started off as the next Resident Evil game)
Sunset Overdrive looked so dumb, but I got it free….. LOVED IT!
Prince of Persia starts off slow but once you’re juggling all your awesome abilities to do some pretty insane parkour and play forming you will be hooked.
Apparently I wish more people had played the new Dead Space remake, lol. Seriously though I’m still burned about Deus Ex, both Mankind Divided and Human Revolution are such great games. However I will admit, Cyberpunk did kinda scratch my deus ex itch but I still want that IP to come back.
Both Deus Ex games were way better representatives of the cyberpunk genre compared to CP2077.
Jade Empire definitely is a great game. Also, Onimusha 1, 2 and 3. More people should play and demand remasters of 2&3.
Dreams was such a great idea. I hope we get something like it in the Future maybe

I can't wait for Rebirth on PC. I almost pulled the trigger on a PS5 finally just to play it, but then there was talk of the PS5 Pro coming soon. I ended up just building a new PC.
The fact that some of the Goty nomination level games go unnoticed is the lack of promotions and some are ruthlessly and unjustly pannee by critics... GOTG was one such game that deserved much more (I know the game is a success, but it never reached the level it deserves) another being Quantum Break (Calling it a Goty level game is kinda bit too much but, though its an Xbox exclusive.. it was an amazing experience.. i mean a game that has Time travel.. ain't that something)
Mad Max (I only came to know about this game few months back when I was getting heavy discount on Xbox Store. I purchased the game just when I was buying games rampantly - I had a lot of money to spend, I dont remember how I had that much 😜- along with games like Elden Ring, Sifu, Mafia definitive triolgy and so on. Mad Max was one of the awesomest Game i ever played. Being a fan of the movie series, i truly enjoyed the game and the Fury Road + Road Warrior feel it had. I saw the reviews and was shocked to see that according to Critics, it's a mid game.) and evil west (Just like Mad max.. even evil west was unjustly panned by the critics.. i know its not the best western Game like RDR 2, nor the best hack and slash like the Gow series and neither was it the best monster/demon/supernatural entity hunting game like Doom Eternal, yet it is an amazing game which gets more badass with the progression)
Mad Max 2015 was so good. I think I did everything in it, and I don't usually like open world/sandbox games

Spec Ops The Line - the story/acting rivals Last of us
Evil Within 2 - the gameplay is almost as good as Resident Evil 4
Valkyria 1 and 4 - on of the best turns based strategy games ever made, and wonderful characters
Guardians of the Galaxy - Best Story in the comic book game, and they just got the universe right
Mafia 3 would be my choice, as it is my second favorite game.l

Mad Max is fking amazing
The Deception Series (Tecmo). Game had you killing enemies/intruders in your castle with only traps. Quite fun when you got the hang of it but and even more fun as you figured out different ways to off them. Unfortunately the game was always doomed as most players wanted a direct way to kill people which was missing the point
Sunset overdrive is such a fun game

Hunt: Showdown costs between 300€ and 500€ as a Steam exclusive. Maybe that's the problem.

Mad Max I believe is underrated and I know very few people that played it.
I actually tried to play it three times.
I just couldn't get into it.
Yeah, the bike was cool and all, but everything else felt undercooked, shallow, and depressing.

@@cole6383 Eh, I didn't care about that one either. The relationship between Joel and Ellie was cool, but they managed to sh!t in that in the (in my opinion non-canon) sequel.
I'd play Prey but both games end on cliffhangers that we'll probably wont get closure for ever.
Yeah 2 amazing, but cursed IP's. Since Arkane was gutted after Redfall (and honestly most the devs from Dishonored 1&2 and Prey left even for that) we will never see any resolution, such a shame.

Mad Max was fine but saying there's no grind? There is a heaps of grind to get all the scrap and stuff needed to upgrade your car.
Not a bad grind as far as they go but definitely a grindy game.
Putting a FF game here is rather ridiculos imho.

Was excited to play Psychonauts 2 with my kids until I learned there is a gay wedding within. Just FYI if that bothers you. Wish it could have been a simple, whimsical fantasy without the modern day "statements".
