    Hi @Akshay Very thanks for the video. As a front end engineer are we expected to know about load balancers , what to do if node goes down etc ? . Was it asked because you worked on it or simply is it because the expectation is that we must know it regardless of front-end or back-end ?
    The chess puzzle completely makes sense since we need to write some logic in UI

    Hi Akshay, #NeedAdvice. This question has really been bugging me.
    I've been coding in python and currently comfortable with it.
    My friend who's an SDE at Amazon
    Said i should learn java, since it has better memory management.
    Is language a barrier in product based companies.
    Will a candidate having exp in java be preferred over someone who codes in python
    Should I switch to Java?

    Hey,
    Just wanted to ask, as a frontend developer how can one learn things like creating load balancer/creating chess code. Or in general how to prepare for such generic questions for an interview?
    to even crack these interviews having experience in frontend does even matter? Because as you mentioned 3 out of 4 rounds were more generic and you have to come up with generic solutions related to backed/networks/nodes...etc.

    • @akshaymarch7
      @akshaymarch7  Před 5 lety +19

      If you're applying for senior roles, then System design is asked at least in good companies. They expect us to be Engineers, in this case I think, the interviewers were even unaware of whether I am a frontend or a backend or a QA or whatever. For them, I was an Engineer, and I should come up to solutions and that's how it should be, right?
      You might be an expert in some specific area but you should definitely be aware of the whole system.
      And don't worry it might sound more complex but these questions don't have specific answers. It largely depends on how you are breaking down the problem and approaching those sub problems. Hope this answers your question :)

    • @AnuragKumar619
      @AnuragKumar619 Před 5 lety +1

      @@akshaymarch7 sure. In that case can you tell from where to learn about such concepts and others? Because this seems to be very generic. A blog post or something to give more idea on this?

    1) please share the order of concepts in JAVASCRIPT to learn step by step.
    2)Please let me know which Code Editors(vscode, sublime...) we can use for companies like Google, Microsoft, Uber and Flipkart in machine coding round.
    3) Can we use code editor extensions like Emmett, ES6 es7 code snippets etc.
    4) Can we use Google search for machine coding round. If so can I use few code snippets ready made like any CSS(flexbox) or JS syntax. In GitHub or any other resource

      @shivaprasad6891 Před 4 lety

      They don't have any restrictions on code editor in MS, Flipkart, and Uber (donno about Google). So you are free to use VS CODE (recommended) or Sublime or Atom.
      Avoid using extension/plugins for autocomplete, coz while writing on the whiteboard you might run into problems of not remembering things.
      Most of them won't restrict the usage of the internet on machine coding round, but shouldn't take advantage of that.
