It's the age old question.. which is the better Pokemon investment in 2024? It really comes down to personal preference. As you probably are aware, Pokemon cards and sealed product have been on an utter tear over the last few months, with SWSH officially reaching new highs on what seems like a daily basis! So if you bought sealed or singles 3 months ago, you shouldn't be complaining!

For me it's 70% sealed 30% singles. Like you said, keep your portfolio as diverse as possible but go with what you love. 👍
I like sealed and graded.
I love being able to open a binder and see my singles, but nothing beats sealed long term! Look at mid era singles vs sealed for example, a lot of the time an individual booster will be more than the chase card from the set.
Yea, it is pretty awesome to be able to pull out a binder or a slab and see the chase card in person!
I’ve been having a fun time getting singles together for grading ! So far I have about 200 nice cards ready for PSA. First shipment will probably be 60 cards headlined by the Giratina Alt from Lost Origin 🤞
Very nice!
I bought the Machamp V Alt Art at $79 💪🏼
I bought a $5 Paldea Evolved blister pack from a grocery store, only Paldea pack I ever opened, and pulled the Magikarp. I've have a pretty good year
That’s really epic
Investing in either one is good for the long run when you think about it. Sealed products on shelves or singles in a binder either way works
I just want to say I've put most my eggs into crown zenith singles and it's been promising
you should talk about why, other sets other cards affecting them....
I’m a collector. I’m buying sealed products - a mixture of booster boxes, etbs, upcs and collector boxes. I’ve also bought some graded cards. I’m now starting to buy singles, just a mixture of cards which I can get and they will all go in folder and I’ll look to sell on in 10 to 15 years time. Thanks for the advice. 👏🏿
I agree sealed is best if it’s an investment. It will be hard to invest in SV if we don’t get the boxes at 100 and end up getting them at MSRP.
Excellent video bro, very good information as always. Without a doubt, it will always be a debate whether to keep a sealed product or try to get the best and most expensive hits. But you have to look closely at the evolution of prices to conclude which form would be the most profitable. Keep it up bro, I'll be watching your next videos. PS: the codes looked very good, although I didn't catch any this time, the effort in recording is still appreciated. Greetings bro.
Buying what you like may be the way to go. The timing of sword and shield alt arts shooting up in the past couple of months was perfect for me getting back into the hobby. I started buying the cards that I liked before I learned anything about whether a card was up or down. I bought solely based on if I liked the card and the price seemed worth it to me. Those singles that I bought before listening to what anyone was saying about them saw the most gains. Like I said, the timing was perfect but I have learned to trust my own taste.
I got the gengar right before it jumped to 300. I got it for 180 days before the price jump. Also I got moonbreon 2 years ago for $400 and a sealed box of evolving skies for around 400 as well.
all great pick ups!
I do enjoying gettinf sealed to hold down the road to grow my collection but i also wanna grab simgles i love or wanna invest...im a torn individual 😅😅
It’s so tough because I want them all!!!!! But it is super expensive lol and obviously you have to set a budget because well we gatta live and take care of the family first!! Whatever I have left over I try to save and but mainly booster boxes, little bit of singles, slabs, collections boxes. I’m working overtime just have extra cash to buy Pokemon investments, not only for me but my boy as well for his future 😊
I invest in sealed items. Bought Paradox Rift at 84 dollars a box and Paldea at 98 dollars a box, those are just going up. Even at MSRP I would double my money on them. Me and my son collect chase cards we like. He has pulled the Lugia V, Charizard V, & Glaceon Vmax alt arts. At one point I was buying big collections from Ebay and selling for profit, but my son ended up taking a lot of big chase cards from those collections, I would still break even , but he would get those cards for free.
Grading and flipping modern ia decent if you arent spending a ton on the raw . I just bought a raw Pfates of Zard for 150 ahipping and tax. Which is. Near market gor super minty
.
Psa 10 is 300 atm which isnt really to get me excited after fees and all that but i think its ichonic SV card. Bot a traditional SIR or alt art more like special full art if u will.
Otherwise i buy booster boxes. Just got 3 TForces. Big fan of rhe set. To me its on par with chilling reign
Sorry texting on phone not very good
I’ve been getting more into sealed, but I’m taking a hard look at the Charizard UPC promos
I was heavy into sealed but it got boring. sold off my sealed and picked up the ponchos psa 10! gonna start reinvesting tnto sealed SV stuff
I bought a Blaziken Vmax for $6 and then the packs we bought I pulled one long time ago last year
Nothing beats sealed long term, investing in a goated set also helps. Singles are for advanced speculators for short term profit.
Really good info, keep up the great work!
i try to collect both sealed and singles.
i only dare to invest in cheap singles like trainer gallery cards for example, and sealed boosterboxes.
the risk is way lower then throwing 500$ into one single card.
depends on what ur collecting/ investing goals are tbh.
just have fun with the hobby !
im buying psa 10 swwrd and shield singles rn at what is the high, it should still increase and be more valuable in the future right?
I’m shocked more people aren’t talking about Shining Fates ETBs still on the pokemon center. Sure it’s not the most popular, but it IS one of the last sets to use fairy type and the last set to give fairy type energy. And the Charizard. And the 10 packs instead of 9. Etc.
Great vid ma dood!!! Looking forward to the next one.
uh, maybe because shining fates is a terrible set
Yea, it's interesting that its still available on PC but there's not a lot of love for Shining Fates
@@ThePokeOffice that will absolutely change when it disappears from the pokemon center.
Is paradox rift worth investing into ?
Another good thing about sealed is that if the singles in the set start going up in value it tends to bring up the sealed price, but booster boxes going up in value doesn't necessarily bring the singles along for the ride.
Truth
Hi. Greetings from Singapore! What is your advice on investing in PSA10 promo cards? For example, PSA 10 Pikachu with grey felt hat, Pikachu WCS 2023, Detective Pikachu promo card . :)
I'd rather invest in sealed
Honestly the only single I have is gold star Mew and Dark Dragonite 1st edition Holo 😂
I bought 80% of the alt arts in Sword and Shield around 3-4 months ago😂 I love it, but I won’t sell for decades. I’m actually more upset that they have more value now and that it’s too expensive to collect now lol. Thanks for the vid bud!
Booster box is like buying a mutual fund/ index, singles is like trying to pick a winning stock
agreed
Noice dragonair
Where do you sell your sealed product you invest in?
usually facebook groups
If u like opening packs like me then you should just buy singles and you can save $. If you don't really care about holding bangers in your hand then buy sealed. So many crazy deals for S&S and S&V that someone can definitely make $ in 1 year. The investment game can be really easy right now
If they like opening packs then buy singles ? You mean if you like SAVING money lol
dratini stuffy new to ya collection huh office
What's this?! Dratini is evolving ...
It's a dragonair!!!
@@ThePokeOffice lol i was being a smart ass lol
When the opposums don't wanna admit they're all eventually investors. Who wants a broke ass collection 😂
no one!
