As much as this great song puts a huge smile on my face as well as some tears on my eyes, I think what makes us so emotional is the old days themselves. If I were playing this game right now I wouldn't feel those 'magic moments' I had back in the day. Growing up sucks.
+thesimstecoo I recently made a family of crazy member, one of them dressed as a gorilla, and trust me, the magic is there...when you play it the way you want.
True, I tried doing the nostalgia stuff I did back in the days. But it doesn't work and I do it forced. Back then when my fantasy was huge I could play this game all day long doing crazy stuff. I want to relive those days...
Oh god. So much nostalgia and good feelings when I listen to this. It was the perfect theme song for the sims. Perfect and beautiful. Nothing can top this. I like to stare at nature and listen to this pretending that I'm a sim and that anything is possible in life
@Armand Labroue In The Sims you can be a witch, a mermaid, an alien, you can travel to the future... I don't think that's possible in real life. In fact, you can earn money in The Sims by typing motherlode, but real life is not that easy.
Sims 2 will always hold a very special place in my heart. Raising my family then tearing it apart by having my character cheat on my wife, getting the other girl pregnant, having child protective services take away the bastard, then slowly rebuilding me and my wife's relationship after hours and hours of phone calls. Good times.
The experience this game brought me is inexplicable. Not just for the game itself, but a reality that involved friendship, discoveries and a completely new world that I embarked on in 2008! The Sims 2 for me is the best version of this series of games, not only because it really is, but because of everything that this game put me through in its time!
I first started Sims 2 with a married couple, and then they had an only daughter. I raised that daughter well. She graduated college with honor and achieved success in career and had a great life. The only thing that I regretted is that I could not find a worthy suitor for her before I stopped playing the game. Boy, a game can make a person become a proud father.
Makes me want to cry. Tears of happiness, for sure, but I don't know if I like this nostalgia running all through my body... Brings back lots of memories and I wish I was a 12 year old girl again.
Back then, my sister and I shared a single computer (and a bunk bed :P) and we often played this game together. Or, at least, I watched. I remember distinctly that she used to have a gridded notepad, which she's literally draw up floor plans for houses that she wanted to build in, and all her sims seemed to constantly be at maximum wellbeing with the white plumbob. Things weren't quite the same when I played, and I'm okay with that. My sister and I aren't living together anymore. I miss her a lot - not that I don't get to see her, of course. Just wish it'd be more often.
You know, I've played The Sims 3 and The Sims 4 but I always end up coming back to The Sims 2, there's something about this game that the other two don't. The Sims 2 was a big step forward compared to The Sims 1, but meh, The Sims 3 was buggy as hell (it has been the only game I've played in my computer that has actually crashed it, it even survived the non-patched video card-boiling version of Starcraft II), had some insane requirements and the general looks of the game weren't as appealing as the ones from The Sims 2, of course getting rid of all the loading screens was awesome and enhanced the gaming experience, but in general The Sims 2 was (and is) more entertaining for me for some reason. And The Sims 4... Well, I was honestly unimpressed by it, the build mode is pure gold, but it's just that...
Tbf it just might be your computer since my sister played the death out of the sims 3 on her ps3 and it ran perfectly fine (and It was an actual port of the game, not like sims 1 and 2)
What I don't understand is why the Sims hasn't been technologically evolving for the past half decade. Sims 1: revolutionary idea. Sims 2: 3D graphics and expansive gameplay mechanics. Sims 3: Huge open worlds, beautiful graphics, easy to use and very fun gameplay Sims 4: Backwards graphics, not open world, confusing user interface...
TheSims4 is waaayyyy better than any other sims game on my opinion. If you haven't played it you won't understand how much better it is than TheSims3 Base Game without any patches. (I have all the stuff, game and expansion packs)
Jackomac43 EA rushed the sims 4 so they could make more money. Think about it, all of the features that they really should of added in the first place were removed then re-added as patches, and that's why theres literally a new pack coming out each month. It makes up for the lack of an online store that the sims 3 had, (but I'd much rather spend 10 dollars on a stuff pack than spending 10 dollars for an item collection on the sims 3.) EA basically sucked all of the life out of Maxis and turned The Sims into a cashcow. I can understand why though, it's one of the most profitable franchises in gaming history lmao
My whole freaking childhood. I used to watch my older sisters play the game because I was too young and would probably suck at it. And the theme song is just pure nostalgia.
It's amazing how fast my brain recalls the memories of all the first lots I played on in The Sims but in the an educational exam set by the education department my brains goes away the same way the sims feeling did in Sims 4.
I have fond memories of watching my mother play the Sims 2 on Christmas 2004, and eventually playing it myself for awhile in 2008. Brings back a lot of memories.
I love this franchise. Sims 2 is definitely when the series realized its potential and executed it! In my opinion sims 3 and sims 4 are great games as well, but sims 2 is definitely a highlight of the franchise.
I remember in TS3 (don't come at me) I once had a guy start flirting with a sim (Harold Assange (anyone remember him?)) and since I had Supernatural, some townies were occults (that ever happen to ya'?) and so when I saw the "Ask to turn" interaction I pressed it not knowing what it meant...the game over dialogue popped up soon after...
Ohh, what a great tune! I mean I liked the University theme too, but I'm definitely sad to see this one being swept under the rug, even though that this was the first ever main Sims theme.
when you're in the club and this comes on and you remember you're not in a club you 11 years old waiting 15 minutes for the sims 2 to load on your nans shitty computer \m/
Holy mother of god the nostalgia just hit me like a bullet. Haven't played the Sims 2 in ages since I was like 10 years old. Lost my copy and now I only play Sims 3 but I'm tempted to go out and buy the Sims 2 again. Sims 3 is amazing and I probably prefer it, but there are certain things that Sims 2 has that Sims 3 just doesn't have.
OMG I started to cry when I heard this music .... I think I loved the sims 2 as much as I love the sims 1, not for the same reasons, but so much memories .
Man, brings back memories. I got this game and had it for about 2 days when I broke my wrist and was unable to play it for months! I remember the torture i went through having to watch my sister play it while I had a broken wrist lol.
The good old days, when I had nothing to worry about, when I just wanted to have fun. Just hearing this music makes me cry, I miss my childhood ! Thanks for the upload.
Ah yes, hearing this reminds me what a chaos Pleasantview is. Don Lothario and his... god knows how many lover he has, Cassandra Goth completely oblivious about him, Dina and Nina Caliente who just happened to appear after Bella’s disappearance, Darren Dreamer and his stack of bills, Brandi Broke and her mysterious child, and finally we have Daniel, Mary-Sue, and Kaylynn. What a disaster...
A lot has happened in 25 years, but some new faces in town are stirring up rivalries and creating tension for the once happy families. Can anything be done to get the neighborhood feeling good again?
Next time when I have a kid, I'll scare them that a happy song in a game during their childhood will be a sad song when they grow up and they'll know what nostalgia really means. I'm gonna be a bad father.
there are two songs in the sims 2 which I personally loved. I don know the names of the songs, but I just know that it starts from a small melody and then escalates into a very beautiful and nice melody

Lots of youngsters here talking about TS2 theme being their favorite. This theme brings a lot of nostalgia, but TS1 theme will always be my favorite :)
