I think Apartment Life is the best and saddest one because it’s the last ever song they made for the game... the song for the last expansion pack they’d ever make for The Sims 2... And we will always remember that Maxis and EA abandoned it. It’s really beautiful and sad.

The Apartment Life theme is so nostalgic. Simple and peaceful, with a hint of sorrow, as if unconsciously acknowledging the end of the series. TS2 was legendary, and replaying it again recently made me see how it's still beloved and legendary, even to this day. An eternal masterpiece.

Since I only had Mansion and Garden with Sims 2 I only know that one the most. I just never knew there were other DLCs for that game. But with Sims 3 I finally got them all.

i really wish you could pick the song you get on the loading screen, cuz if you play the with every expansion, you just get the song of the last expansion
Hi, there's a loading screen randomizer tool available and it can even put custom images on the loading screen, which is really nice. You just start the randomizer and it gets the job done by putting a different loading theme.

I harbour strong nostalgia for the Open For Business theme, because unlike some of the others, it was never used in Buy/Build Mode, so after Pets finally came out, we never heard the OFB theme again.

I found out my old collection of Sims 2 CD-roms in the attic of my parents' house, where I spent lockdown in the first half of 2020, when coronavirus was still extremely mysterious and I just saw it as a few weeks off work. so I installed the Sims 2 again and started playing like when I was 13 ! and apartment life was the most soothing music ever, because I knew I would spend some time away from the craziness of the world
I hate how I wasn’t able to grow up with this series. I mean, I first played TS3 in 2012 or 2013, but I was too young to even understand the Sims 2 when it came out and all my parents ever got was MySims.
I remember getting Double Deluxe years ago (2009 maybe) and having to wait 15-20 minutes just to get into the game on my crappy Dell dimension computer with only 256 MB of RAM. Because of that reason, I hated the the celebration stuff music for the longest time. 😀
I have all the expansions but before I start playing I always copy from the base game bin so that the splash screen goes back to the original, it’s so iconic
Nightlife and university were my favs like if you have these two packs you already have a good gameplay you can add the pets pack too but other than that if you have the two first packs of the game you don’t even need other packs to have a bomb gameplay
For me, Seasons and Pets are the go-to expansion packs, or the first ones to get/install anyway. Although if I had to choose a 3rd place it would be University, and Apartment for 4th. Everything else I either never get or just get them all. Mostly it depends on wich Sims game I'm playing but yeah, these are the must haves for me.
My favorite is Seasons, followed by Nightlife, FreeTime, Apartment Life, Open for Business, University, Bon Voyage and Pets, in that order. All of the expansions are great and should be installed together if available, but I could do with even just one or two.

Wowwww I've never heard some of these! I guess some of them only played as loading screen themes, and since I only ever had the base game and University before getting the Ultimate Collection, they just totally passed me by. Weird to think of any TS2 tracks being new to me...
First and last the best! Remembered that my daddys computer couldnt run Sims 2 when it first come out, so I had to go down to our neighboor to play and I just remembered the first loading screen and then going in to play the Broke family as the first one ever in this game. Still stuck in my memory when I hear the music from original.
Nightlife all the way. No video game expansion has ever raised the hairs on my back like that game. I just loved everything about that. I remember asking my dad to buy it for me in Target when it came out and he finally got it for me for Christmas
