Is the WINGSURFER really the new trend?! KEVVLOG³ #11

  • Lately a lot of brands are coming out with a WINGSURFER. It's the new trend! I read a lot of mixed comments. Some people love it and some hate it, so I thought I would make a KEVVLOG about it to share my thoughts on the Wingsurfer. My suggestion is to first give it a go before you really know how it is. But I can tell you one thing it's FUN!

    Lots of negative comments, yet most brands are sold out or back ordered. Pretty psyched to add this dimension to my quiver, not replace my quiver with this dimension. A nice safe, rigging-free alternative for a quick solo foil session when kiting isn't ideal...like on a lake with no beach.

    Genius! I can't wait to see where this goes. As far as all the backtalk, people were laughing at windsurfing in the 70s, and laughed at SUPs in the 90s.

    A pro like Kevin makes everything look easy. I wonder how easy it would be for an average guy who just tried it for the first time on a SUP board? Would you need a need a dagger board of some kind to go upwind?

    • @user-vw7vw2yq1u
      @user-vw7vw2yq1u Před 5 lety +2

      Mike Skor 4 sq meters of this wing is nothing for daggerboard. To accelerate daggerboard of let say 3.50 meters length you need a sail not less than 6 square meters and harness and lines to hold it. Take a sail of 4 sq meters and try to sail on daggerboard- you’ll get nothing

    • @whatsupbudbud
      @whatsupbudbud Před 3 lety

      A lot of wingsurfers recommend starting winging on a SUP. My local surfshop recommended trying the foil board in a wake park first (as it's a smaller volume, so harder but more fun after initial learning curve). With the SUP you're going downwind fast and won't get back as there is no counter tension in the water. I'm going to try the wing on a beach, maybe on a skateboard and go the wake park route with the lower volume foil probably. Hard to order these as they're sold out everywhere I live. Oh yeah, I saw a video of winging with a small surfboard but the fellow said it was rather tough as compared to foil.
