  • The nineteenth volume of buses in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. This has turned out to be a very popular series!
    This volume takes us to four different locations, two in the City of Vancouver - Georgia & Granville Downtown, and Marine Drive Station in Marpole - followed by two locations in the City of Richmond - Bridgeport Station and Richmond Centre - Brighouse.
    Of note - the new 2016 XN40 and XD40 buses were coming into service as this volume was filmed, between October 2016 and April 2017. The 1996 D40LF fleet is still going strong, despite impending retirement, and the closure of NVTC and the subsequent opening of HTC has created quite a shakeup of which buses can be seen where - before September 2016 no Novabus LFS were ever seen in Richmond. This - along with the new arrivals of the XN40 and XD40 coaches, means that both locations seen in this volume in Richmond now see quite a variety of different bus types!

    My 129 route was affected by this fleet change from Burnaby buses to Hamilton buses. Now there’s a lot more variety to the fleet

    Is there some type of automated computer onboard the trolleybuses that's connected to the poles, so it knows which wires to switch to? Or is it up to the driver to do all of that

      @Welwyn22  Před 7 lety

      Up to the driver - there's a switch inside the trolleys "Power/Coast" which determines which direction the poles go on the switches. Sometimes malfunctions with switches or driver error does occur...

    I like this series too Welwyn. Shows how Vancouver and the area (Why are you in Seattle by the way) shows off its public transit. BTW for BC bus fans I responded to another yahoo comment saying that I did not know if Translink had a bus route from central Victoria to Swartz Bay for foot BC Ferries riders from Vancouver. Does anyone know the real answer to that question?

      Martin Theiss That's BC Transit territory, not TransLink. BCT introduced a more-direct route between Swartz Bay and Downtown Victoria in September 2008.

      All West Vancouver Municipal Transit buses have the city coat of arms above their destination displays - cptdb.ca/wiki/index.php?title=West_Vancouver_Municipal_Transit

      Jack Katsikaris, it is common for them to do that. It helps "spread the word" upon drivers and riders of the system
