  • This is the sixteenth volume of Buses in the metro Vancouver area of British Columbia, Canada.
    Filmed in March and April 2015, this volume introduces us to the brand new Xcelsior natural-gas buses operating in Coquitlam; as well as the new Fraser Valley Express Bus from Carvolth Exchange, operated by BC Transit from Chilliwack.
    This volume also includes Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal (with former Community Transit 7617 running a shuttle to Downtown Vancouver for Bowen Island residents), Bridgeport Station and YVR Airport.
    (Volume Seventeen is now online at: • Buses in Vancouver, BC... )

    Watched it from start to finish. Great job. Who owns and operates that ex community transit bus?

      Dennis Hampton I'm not 100% sure, but he owns three D30LFs on Bowen Island and has seemingly contracted his buses out to TransLink, as the former Bowen Island shuttles (S302-S304) are now running in Langley.

      Are you able yo get some interior rides? There's not very many people who still run them and not very many who record the remaining. I love that C.8 engine

      It's actually a Detroit Diesel Series 40... or that's what's been determined by the folks at CPTDB. I might be able to get an interior ride if I get over to Bowen Island sometime this summer.

      Ok great. I thought it was a C.8 because it sounds just like MCT's former 98 D30LFs. I have plenty on my page if you haven't seen them yet.

      Dennis Hampton Two D30LFs are ex. Community Transit, the other ex. Capital Metro (Texas). These buses running from Horseshoe Bay to Downtown Vancouver was meant to be a temporary measure, but the operating contract with TransLink has just been renewed for another year as it's become rather popular with commuters from Bowen Island.

      I'm not sure, all I know is the BC Transit Novas from 2009 onwards make that sound too. It's known as a 'Nova Cough' unofficially as a result.
      Likely something to do with the ISL engine.

      @deadarmdr2402 Před 6 lety

      All of our buses have some form of engine retardation or transmission retardation or a combination of both.
