This is a very tragic and sad story. Carrie just wanted to live a normal life as a teenager growing up to become a young woman. She had no refuge at all at home or at school because she was bullied by her mother and her classmates.
Prom or no prom Mrs. White was going to try to kill Carrie because her mother thought of her as a "sinful" mistake because she allowed herself to enjoy herself while being raped.
The only people who didn't deserve to die were Tommy, Ms. Collins and everyone else who didn't laugh at Carrie.
The way Mrs. White was standing after she was killed by Carrie in self defense was very similar to the St. Sebastian statue in the prayer closet.
The reason why Carrie used her telekinesis to make her house collapse was because she couldn't call the police to tell them that she used her telekinesis to defend herself against her mother who tried to kill her even though I don't think that the people in her town would notice or miss her and because if Carrie moved to another town she would be treated as a pariah because the news of what happened and her reputation would precede her.

In context, the bucket does not knock Tommy out but according to the book kills him. Carrie has some telepathy in the book so when she looks into their minds including the gym teacher they are really laughing, At the time in the 1970s, teachers were replacement parents so it was no big deal for a slap, hit, ect.
Carrie was done as someone as a character Stephen King knew very unpopular and vulnerable. People like Chris like Townies as opposed to high school kids since they were more dangerous and she came from a rich family.

Omg this was an awesome review! I was so happy to see it pop up in my notifications. You had great and hilarious thoughts on this movie. I’ve always been torn on Sue’s character. She’s the one that started the “plug it up” chant and we don’t see a specific scene that shows her remorse outside of her asking Tommy to take Carrie out. I can’t tell if she’s a reformed mean girl or just trying to do a good deed to get rid of that pesky guilt.

    • @KisstheReviews
      @KisstheReviews  Před 2 lety +2

Yes!! I had the same thoughts!! For a while I thought her and Tommy were in on it and Tommy was reluctant. I also found it weird he kissed Carrie. Like bro, you got a girlfriend still. Not cool. 😂

Carrie (1976) is one of the most greatest and scariest horror movies of all time. The story, performance's, direction, music, images, astomphere, tension, and cinematography was so suspenseful, frightening, haunting, mysterious, thrilling, intense, eerie, creepy, and spooky. 😰😱 It was such a nail-biting and intense thrill ride as it will keep you on the edge of your seat.😰😱 It really identifies and analyzes the boundaries of teenage cruelty.🥺😭😔 Sissy Spacek did a phenomenal and spectacular job portraying Carrie White as she put tons of emotion and depth into her role. It was decent and to this day the ending still gives me chills and goosebumps 😰😱 and I still watch it. Carrie (1976) is a true blue ultimate masterpiece in horror cinema. Brian De Palma directed a classic that will be in our hearts forever. It never gets old.😍😎💯👍

I was introduced to Carrie at a sleepover party for my best friend's 12th bday. Needless to say we couldn't get past the opening scene lol. But I mustered up the courage to watch it again and again. It's become one of my favorite horror films.
Unfortunately I could never quite get over Sissy Spacek as Carrie. Powerhouse of an actor she is, even in "The Long Walk Home," she was still Carrie to me.
Keep working on your telekinetic powers Corey! You never know when they might kick in lol.

I love how you noticed the dollar store Jesus looks like Dave Mustaine. Funny how Megadeth had a song "Looking Down the Cross" on their debut album 9 years after this movie came out. How awesome if Mustaine actually noticed this too (Even subconsciously) and it was the true inspiration for the song?! Lol

Hi. Great reaction. The statue inside of the closet is St. Sebastian, who was persecuted for being a Christian. He was tied to a tree and shot with arrows. He was healed by St. Irene of Rome but died after being beaten with clubs by the emperor Diocletian’s soldiers.

    1. Stephen King threw this book into the trash but his wife took it out and told him to publish it. It was his first book to be published outside pulp adult magazines and it was the first one adapted into a movie. The rest is history.
    2. As long as I have a face Norma/P.J. Soles has a place to sit.💕😍 She has to ace the ballcap though
    3. Back then teachers could strike the kid if necessary.
    4. Her mother is a real piece of work.
    5. Mr. Fromm/teacher ragging Carrie/Sydney Lassick played Chezwick in "One Flew over the Cuckoos Nest".
6 Tommy, Sue and Miss Collins were really trying to help her. I read the book.
    7. If Billy/John Travolta is a high school student, so am I.
    8. Margaret is impaled in the same position as Carrie's St, Sabastian statue.
    9. As usual with King remakes they all sucked. So far, they're 0/10
