It’s way too long and the safety message gets lost in the advertisement and the subliminal messaging Qantas loves. Passengers will not be able to maintain attention for almost 10 minutes. The JAL airlines accident is a lesson; well trained cabin crew and well briefed passengers on what’s required in an evacuation.

  • @danielbigtiger

They must focus more on safety features and guides, not just with places and dance music performances. That's why it's too long.

  • @ProuvaireJean

I always prefer safety videos that feature staff rather than celebrities, and including customers is an interesting idea, but 10 minutes is way, way, way too long.

  • @Jamese_145

Video is way too long and too focused on advertising destinations. Completely misses the point of safety.

  • @resetzero2820

    I don’t like it-it is too long.

  • @haydensingleton

Why did they make it seem like they actually fly to most of those places E.g. morocco and Lapland. Great viewing but, I've been bamboozled by the lack of safety messages and the misguided idea they fly to alot of these places.

The safety video sucks bring back the old one.

  • @oceania_aviaiton6580

Don’t you think 10 mins is a bit long for a safety video? You should be on the runway by then.

Do they really expect anyone to pay attention for the whole 9 minutes?! Jesus

Seat belt safety video in broken English.

  • @ronaldsimmons7316

After watching that for over 9 minutes, I was looking for the escape slide!

Nothing will beat the old video that took us through the evolution of Qantas. We could connect to that and it was engaging - isn’t that the purpose of such a video? This is convoluted, confusing and features other countries and mainly people who have Left Australia. Luckily I fly a lot, otherwise I would have no idea of the safely features as 9.5 minutes is tedious and is more like a short film about expats than safety information. I can’t imagine how much money was spent on the production of this epic, but you’ve missed the mark in my opinion. Take a look at Singapore Airlines safety video for the gold standard.

  • @brianvogt8125

This is primarily a tourism promotion. The safety training is unchanged since my flights during 1989-1991 with Olympic Airlines, British Airways & Singapore Airlines. It takes less than 1 minute to present.

  • @seengame7681

Given the recent incident involving JAL at Haneda, I had a look at their safety video. It’s HALF the length of this one, bilingual, and clearly showed what you needed to do (and what might happen if you don’t).

  • @1daftpunk

Good grief, a 9 minute safety video?!?… Here I thought Air New Zealand's SV were getting tedious… Congratulations Qantas

GIMME BACK THE 100 YEAR ONE IT WAS SO EPIC

  • @FTTravelstyle

Due to the length of our safety video, we now have lost our takeoff slot. We will be taxiing back to the gate and wait for a new one. We may miss it again as we have to replay our safety video before we re-taxi out. Thank you for flying with us…..we will eventually, we promise 😂.

  • @katewilson4149

Agree with the comments about it being too long. It’s an ad. So, there’s a red tag on the safety vest. How cool! What’s it for? (I know, others may know, but not everyone knows.)

The spirit of Australia is as good as the people who work for Qantas. Thankyou Qantas Team for keeping us flying safely & comfortably, and occasionally on time - your hard work doesn't go un-noticed! I hope that one day management appreciate you as much as we customers do :)

The video is visually magnificent and must have cost a fortune to create, which I personally censure for the following reason.
