Introducing your puppy to a topknot pillow & their first topknot

While training your puppy to rest their head on a topknot pillow is a very useful thing to teach them… the training method is not an exact science! In today’s tutorial, Allison and her Toy Poodle puppy ‘LB’ demonstrate their first lesson with the topknot pillow and LB’s first topknot. As you can see, it doesn’t always go as planned but in the end, a positive experience that “ends with a win” goes a long way as the first step in this training process.

Edit: Something we also did, was when she's very sleepy at night, we'd slip the pillow under her chin when she's already half asleep and didn't want to move away 😂

Its good that people realize that they're not actually being bad but that they just dont know what you expect of them(yet).
Do you have any training tips to help owners help their dog who is in a fear the stranger phase?

I hope they have a video about that, it's a good question.
I know some things that have helped a dog we have, but I can't shorten it enough to put into a YT comment, it needs a video or book.
However, there's a good resource (to which I don't have any personal connection, I just like it, ever since someone loaned me her copy at our local Land O' Lakes Kennel Club Dog Show) is _"How To Raise A Puppy You Can Live With"_
There's lots of detailed advice there which helped our dogs (both our AKC dogs and our mixed breed rescued dogs) and it's cheap to buy or even just read at the library. ❤️🐕
