    Love the abridged versions. They really support the full versions. Thank you for doing both versions, Billy

    Dude, I learned more in the past 10 min than some of the 1 hour live classes on TTMIK. Lol The teachers often chat too much with the viewers messaging them live and don't focus on the lesson. I loved how straight to the point and quick YET thorough you were with your explanation. AWESOME. More of this. haha

      Exactly! Their banter is way more than the lesson. It can be really annoying.
      Billy has helped me so much and I really appreciate him!

    너무 훌륭한 강사를 알았네요.
    교과서나 흔한유튜브에 나오지 않지만 생활에 자주 쓰이는 한국말을 영어로 알려주시니 너무 감사해요.
    영어를 공부 하는 입장에서 너무 도움이 됩니다

    안녕하세요 선생님! I've been learning korean with you since I watched your 'learn hangul in 90 minutes' video. Thanks to you, I learnt hangul without having to spend a dime. I will forever be grateful to you because without that video, I would still be struggling with a lot of korean pronunciation. 너무 감사합니다 선생님! 진짜요. 앞으로도 화이팅!

    You don’t have to use these words or phrase.
    Peopele usually use 차라리 to emphasize.
    E.g. :(Here is too cold. I want to go warm place.)
    And you can say,
    여기 있는 것 보다 차라리 화산 속에 뛰어드는 게 더 나을 것 같아요. [I’d rather dive into volcano than stay here.]

    Billy, thanks for the lesson!!!
    Can you explain the meaning of " 하지를 마 " used in the sentence 이런 식으로 할 거면 차라리 하지를 마. Shouldn't it be 하지 마 instead? Why is 를 used in the sentence? Isn't it a subject particle? Does it have a different meaning in this context?

    • @GoBillyKorean
      @GoBillyKorean  Před 4 lety +3

      Because the verb used in the ~지 말다 is 말다 and it's an action verb. It can take an object, and the object is the verb with the ~지 ending - specifically, 말다 marks what it is that you "don't" do, and if you use 하다 as 하지 마세요 it's saying "don't do (object) the verb 하다." Most of the time you won't see the object marker used there, but it can be.

    Really great video as usual but 5:33 why did you put 를 particle for 하지?? Is it not a command??

    • @tamtamxtam
      @tamtamxtam Před 4 lety

      Ohhh is this only used for future tense?? Never mind

    • @GoBillyKorean
      @GoBillyKorean  Před 4 lety +3

      Someone else also asked that, but it's because 말다 is an action verb, and the object is the "not doing" of the verb before it. In this case, if you have 하다, then it's 하지(를) 말다 - 하지(를) 마세요 or 하지(를) 마. Most of the time the object marker isn't used, but technically it can go there since 말다 is directed toward the action 하다.

    as much as these lessons are useful I think im way ahead of myself its no use learning how to say "rather" if I can't make a simple sentence as "I don't want to"
    I don't know where to find your simpler lessons, like advanced beginner level.

      There are PDF worksheets and outlines for the live streams. You can find a link to all of them in my channel's Community tab. They're accessible to any Patreon member. You can also find similar lessons in my books, but I think this grammar form is somewhere in book 3.

    Billy I want ask you questions.
    1. how to understand which syllable block should be used when writing.
    2.Which vowel should we use I am confused ae or another ae and yae or another yae.Please tell me the Solution.

    • @GoBillyKorean
      @GoBillyKorean  Před 4 lety +1

      1. You have to learn the spelling of a word. Just like we write "cat" with a C and not "kat," you simply have to learn how a word is spelled in Korean too.
      2. Also the same as above.
