I’m with you on a lot of your de - clutters …. I wish I could get into Grady Hendrix books …. So many seem to love him and I’ve tried many times both book and audio and I can never finish …. I’m a reader that dnf’s after one or two chapters if it’s not working for me ….. I’ve been reading for over 59 years and I teach language arts in high school ….. I will never waste time with books I don’t enjoy❤ In my opinion, “The Silent Patient” was a one hit wonder!
I loved how 'minimal' the unhaul was if that makes any sense- I dont like seeing people hoard 200 books and then unhaul 120 next month it makes me upset for some reason so unsustainable 😭🖤
I'm having such a hard time unhauling books as well, but I kinda learned to do, using the same 'measurements' as you do. Some books, you simply have such a strong connection to, I could never give them away. Others tho... Funnily enough, I read Ghost Story when I was muuuch younger and just started to get into the horror genre; I remember forcing my way through this book, but ended up liking it okay-ish? I can't even remember one thing about it anymore tho.
With Fantasticland it only really works as an audiobook imo. I dnfed it physically because of the walls of text but then I listened to the audiobook and ended up giving it 4 stars.
I think you might be the only person I've seen so far that feels the same way I do about some very popular books/authors like None Of This Is True and Lovelight Farms...I absolutely did not enjoy either of those books and I had such high hopes for them because so many people were raving about them. I also do not enjoy Lucy Score's writing.
I had the same problem with by a thread by Lucy Score. Although I did push through and read the entire thing: BIG MISTAKE lmao. Her writing is way too quirky and her characters are extremely immature for their age

i've heard a few other people say the audio was good! i'm sure I would've liked it better that way!
