    I rode my Zuma 125 to work the first day I got my motorcycle license. The problem was I did not think it would get down to 34 degrees. My fingers froze during my 3 mile ride at about 35 MPH. The next day I went to Extreme Power Sport in Columbus GA and picked up a pair of Joe Rocket gloves that look very much like the ones you have in the video. All I can say is… AWESOME product!!! Mine were a touch over $50 USD.

    Fortnine, I own a sport bike and use it to commute just under 20 miles a day for my job. I'm trying to be a year-round rider, but lately its been windy and cold. It'll be high 30s when I leave the house, but wind chill makes it worse, and it'll get colder before the Spring, so I would appreciate a more current video. Some days when I get to work, my fingertips are way cold, and if I ever had to go more than about 10 miles, I'd worry. I'm considering heated grips myself, but wish for a flexible, protective - and mostly - warm glove.

    • @TsvetanVR
      @TsvetanVR Před 5 lety +2

      Heated grips while great for your palms, they can't really warm your fingers up. I'm still using mine. An updated winter gear video would be really appreciated.

    3:48 It's not a weird feature. If you ride like I do, which is with index and middle finger on the brakes, those reflective bits make perfect sense.
    I also don't understand the argument that if you're a tourer who rids 8 hours a day, you don't need the armor... Nobody needs any armor ever, as long as they're on the bike. In that second or two that last an hour between being launched off the bike and impacting on the pavement (or worse...), you will be happy thinking of all the armor you're wearing.

    Maybe riding in cold is not a good thing for some people, but I ride 12 months of 12. Sometimes you get a 'surprise' weather condition and that means you need to break out some heated gear. Say it's raining and 50ish degrees. You might need to plug in depending on how it feels to you. Some are well suited to that but I have lived in the south too long to have that adaptation any more.

    The 5WFX1 glove has reflective fingers for riders who always cover their brake and clutch levers with the 2 fingers with reflective material. This is not a fluke thing, it's a careful, conscientious, conspicuous decision to help riders be more visible to the idiot cagers out there. No need to "give em the bird" if 4 fingers light up when hit with headlights. I think it's genius. Bravo.

  • @pittbulldawgz
    @pittbulldawgz Před 6 lety +1

    The reflective fingertips... I throw up old school hand signals during lane changes. When you stick them off in their headlights they are definitely seen and it makes you feel like a badass for some reason.

    My personal experience just this past November I did a 16 hour ride in rain from 47 degrees to 34 degrees and 2 hours of 2 inch snow in 30 degrees. heated grips,waterproof gloves that keep your hands totally dry. If you can't get good heated grips then most definitely heated gloves.

    @zyonsdream Před 4 lety +5

    None of these gloves work in actual winter... Get a GORE-TEX winter glove with a leather shell. Add a battery heated glove liner for warmth. My coldest ride is -10 F. These gloves might be okay in the 40 F range. Oh. And a glove is only waterproof if the glove goes under the jacket sleeve. Otherwise you’re just funneling water into the glove. A longer gauntlet on a winter glove that you want to use in the rain is not a good idea.

Second those gel pads hurt the palms of my hands. My ride to work can be 30 min to 1hr and my hands are so sore after wearing these gloves it ridiculous. They do keep my hands dry though so......

    • @just-dl

      maybe the gloves are just bit (half-size?) too small? I had some gloves that I loved, but, it had a seam that just killed me, because it was just a little small. I'm between sizes, so finding gloves that fit is a pain in the....knuckle. Hopefully, you've got a solution by now....I see this an older comment.

    • @connorsmith713
      @connorsmith713 Před 5 lety

      no not really. its either gonna be too hot in the summer or too cold in the winter. maybe try a mid weight glove and just accept that your hands are gonna be hot in the summer then toss some heated grips on to stay warm in the winter. But overall you're way better suited just buying two pairs of gloves.
