Growing up in Southern California in the 1970s, they had PSA's that said "lock your car, take your keys anytime you are out of your vehicle". If the owners of some of these vehicles followed this advice, there would be fewer police chases. My wife when we met would leave her car running when she went into stores. Not only is this a waste of gas, it is an invitation of thieves to take her car.I don't live there anymore and she doesn't do that anymore. The More You Know.
How about if they reversed decriminalizing many crimes and punished criminals instead of a slap on the wrist or just book and release like they're doing and not always convicting the victim at fault?

She was either hit or almost hit by the car the guy pushed out of the way. Probably trying to get him to stop or get his info, not realizing it’s a stolen vehicle being tracked by police.
Plot twist. The driver of this concrete pump rig was not stopping to fuel up before a nice long breakfast. That pump rig is supposed to be at a job site to pump concrete to a driveway or structure far from the road. The cement mixer trucks are on sight waiting to dump their load into a pump rig, the foreman of the job is freaking out now because the concrete in the waiting cement mix trucks have limited time, the foreman is paying his crew to stand around instead of pour and form the concrete and the thing holding up the entire job is this idiot driving around LA in the pump rig he stole an hour ago. In most cases, the concrete pump companies are independent, meaning the contractor of a particular job site hires a concrete company to deliver concrete and the contractor hires a company to pump the concrete. Both the concrete trucks and the concrete pump company must arrive on scene in a small window of time. Perfect example of how one idiot thief disrupts or destroys the livelihood of several people.

There's not much they can do in this situation, the chase is happening in the middle of a densely popular area, the police do not have a lot of options due to the amount of civilian traffic, they can't risk any shootouts incase civilians get hit, anything intense they can't do because of the risk to civilians. basically all they can do is just try to flatten the car's tires using spike strips or wait for it to run out of gas, thats why they're just closely following and documenting the chase, theres not much they can do besides that
Defund the police movement, everyone thats stupid getting together to hate police, families of criminals do not want police to chase criminals and kill them or make the criminals drive more recklessly so they maintain a steady pace until they run out of gas.

Well with the response of the LAPD you might as well chase it yourself. When there is no resemblance of law and order you have to be a vigilante.
So after 3 hours the cops finally get some spike strips under the rig and flatten the tires and homie continues to drive until there was no way to keep going. Then after a short standoff homie gives up and goes to jail. This happen Wednesday and no name or anything given.
Dang! No arrest of the bad dude? I just wasted an hour of my life.
