who's Herling Aland? đ
Iâve always just given the responsibility of training to my assistant but I really wanted to understand it and do more myself so this has helped massively thanks so much
This has made training more enjoyable along with player development throughout the game. Great work!
Training after many years of playing FM seem worthwhile at last. Thank you.
Great to hear!
same man!
I've been playing FM for the last 5 years now, and I'm glad I watched this tutorial. Thanks mate.
The single best training guide out for FM2020. I have less than 15 hours in the game and this has helped me understand training so much better
that turned my 16-17 years old players into world class in 3 years . With the right personality and work rate/determination they sats were up the sky. Amazing. WP
What are your coaches mininmum personality? Professional or determined?
Just downloaded! just gone through my whole team. Very insightful in such a short video. I normally leave it to assistant. But I do want more out of the game. So much appreciate your help.
Just picked up a new laptop and started an Aberdeen save. We don't have the best facilities or coaches but have a lot of promising young talent. Will absolutely give this a try whilst also picking up improved coaches.
Iâve been using this for half a season now with Sunderland and Iâm getting good results. Down side is some of my players are unhappy with the training but Iâm sticking with it. Great vid!
I've precisely the same.. a lot of unhappy players.. unfortunately limited to 6 coaches with RB Leipzig...
I have learned a lot. I appreciate the had work you put in order to make this video.
I will most def give this a try. Keep up the good work Jamie
Please do!
Thank you Jamie. Like yourself, I never do my own training, looks too dauntingđ. I will definitely start this though
You can do it!
This guy sounds EXACTLY the same as the guy who does some training videos at my work, proper eerie.
Thank you! I loved it! Now, make a quick video telling me how the "recruiting" team actually works. And involve the entire team, the analycts aswell.
Mate once again priceless info, always just left the training well alone but this is brilliant, nice job bro
Wow.. this really got me excited to do training myself.. awesome video! đđŒ
Amazing thanks very much for that! Really helpful and makes it a lot less complicated/frustrating not developing a good young player. Just annoyed Iâve found this 5 yrs into my save
Brilliant video! Look forward to seeing the benefits from this training, keep up the great content
Please, follow the guide.
Thanks for the vid! some of us play lower divisions and a lot of times come up againts strong sides when trying to get promoted. Do you sometimes edit the training regimes to suit your next opponents? or not at all?
My favourite video so far this year very very helpful thanks Jamie
Glad you enjoyed it
Thank you for this guide. I enjoyed watching it and I am going to try this on my team now.
I do my own training and it definitely works better than leaving it to assistant and i would say my style of training has worked well for me but have just finished a season so will give this approach a go for the next season.
I don't understand why I can't select to train the player in the position, roles, tasks, if I have an Advanced Forward and I want to make him a Trequartista, why can't I?
Great Job, congratulation for the work!
Well, you can. But if the abilities are there to play treq it's not really needed. We have seen games where people have trained a player in a role for 5 years, never getting it better( greener).
So we don't think we need to. you can still use it to get a spread on many abb's needed for the role, instead of just focus if he needs many and not just a few. But due to too much intensity and then injuries we don't recommend both at same time, so will suggest to chose one
@@fmscout Thanks for replying, great job.
Just to add to this I've come to learn the roles are aren't really that import they are just your assistants recommendation for how good they can play that role, if a player has good attributes for a different role you want him to play he can still do it fine, and as mentioned in this video if you keep playing the striker as a treq he will eventually get better familiarity with that role and the colour if the circle will improve.
Thank you so much for this guide. I am going to try this on a new Chelsea save since I have tons of wonder kids there with crazy potential
Good luck!
Interesting video. I never bother with setting my own training. I just can't make head nor tail of it. But I'm just in pre-season in my Sheff Utd save, so perfect time to give it a go. cheers.
The option to change intensity in individual training is greyed out though so I can't change it. They're not on any other courses either (Leadership etc).
Ahaaaah! That really helped, I have dabbled into the Rest screen, but I didn't understand it like this, so thank you, this was excellent.
No worries man! Thanks for the comment.
This is a very handy little video, with a lot of key details that would normally go completely unnoticed. Cheers for this, and good work!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Looks great, thanks!
Great video, quick question, if you rotate your full XI between the two matches in a game week, is it worth keeping the intensity to 1 game p/w?
ive seen instant improvements with this in fm21!
Great video! Canât stress that enough, great video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hey FMSCOUT! Awesome work ! Just wanted to ask something these are used as well on the season preparation at summer ? Or until friendlies end?
Fantastic `how to min/max` training video. This is likely good for 2020/2021 etc
How did you do in this save league position wise? Compared to when the AM took training
Do you use this for your youth/u18 squad as well or just promote good candidates to your full squad?
Excellent guide, makes it all seem simple.
Yes, can set the same in reserves and youth page on rest automatic
But I dont use schedules there, to much hassle for me. Automatic however can just go on for a season
@@fmscout excellent, thanks, now to find model citizen coachs :p
There aren't many, do we care at all about there stats? Danny mcgrain is an excellent defence coach and model citizen, need scottish database loaded for him to appear though.
If just for the rest page and intensity automation, THANK YOU! I have doubts about the "playing position" though, I always set it up manually (to cover for player learning a "new" position). Are you saying that's useless ? Does playing position mean last played position?
Mind blown on the playing position training, great job as always Jamie
Thanks!
Love this. I'm notorious for ignoring training but I will give this a try
Go for it, keep us updated!
Wow definitely going to try this, thank you!
Read carefully the guide and what require. Check first if your players has reached PA or it's close. Their hidden attributes. Have good mentoring plan. Have the right staff.
I have always thought that focusing only on the development of a given attribute, the rest will be completely neglected and here I ask what a pleasant surprise. General training is probably doing a great job. Good job boys!
Thank you for the nice comment!
Top video Jamie, thanks.
My pleasure!
Interesting. Ill try this. Of all things to follow the only hard one is getting everyone training load to be light since i have a lot of players atm.
definately do more of this
Really enjoyed this mate. As one, like you, who let the assistant get on with it as it was too in depth and complicated. This has set it out pretty simply, giving it a go with a Fulham save im currently on. Time will tell :)
How did it go?
@@cfcvik2066 1st Season promotion with Fulham, constantly developing players. 2nd season 5th in Prem. 3rd Season 4th in Prem with a Euro Cup victory. 4th Season 3rd in Prem, knocked out of Champions League, but another euro Cup Win :) its very effective
I had no idea how to do training prior to this video and left it to the staff to handle. Never really got any results worth much. Iâve been using this for a few months to start a new save and Iâve already seen huge improvements! And Iâm using Clermont Foot, a ligue 2 team, so I donât believe I have any âwonder kidsâ on the team
Very useful. Iâve had great success recently with moving all my under 18/23 with 3 star and above into the first team and using mentoring groups. Never had great success loaning out players under 22/23 before even to clubs with good resources. Now they are flying up. Even just using auto assign for training schedule and groups but I tend to manually use complete wing back/ball playing defender/box to box with defensive positioning extra training and winger/wider target man/complete forward with either final 3rd/shooting/attacking movement and seems to work for me. Sometimes some players canât handle the extra training so just remove that. Then just say use in under 23/18 games each game and give them cup games. Loans just seem waste unless to a decent foreign club where they get game time.
Hey would you be able to make an update for fm 21 on whether this still works?
Training is something Iâve always taken time with but struggle to see the results of the things that I myself have actually put in place so Iâm looking forward to seeing the results of this. Only problem I have with this is retraining? I have like to retrain some Centre/Defensive mids to play as BPDâs. Currently trying to retrain my wing backs to play inverted wing backs and one of my wing backs to play as a winger. Does leaving it on training playing position have as big an impact on the players development of the specific role you want him to play or will I leave it on the role Iâm trying to retrain.
The player will train to his position according to X position of the tactic. If you have CD in your tactic, will train as CD. If you have BPD will train as BPD etc. If you go to re-train him; you need to change training schedules. What's the best training schedules for BPD, but not destroy tactical familiarity, players being happy, developing attributes (rest of your players) etc? This is something very special.
when i set it for 2 games a week (tuesday and saturday matches) should I be training Tactical, outfield and match preview on Monday as it is according to the setup?
never thought about coach personality!
You had me smacking my screen for a second there.
This was one of the most useful guides I have ever watched for FM... great job and thanks for sharing!
Works quite well for player development I've noticed a lot of players determination goes up probably down to the coaches. Only downfall is a few complain about a lack of technical coaching
It's not only because coaches; but your mentoring also.
Good job, amazing!
you made me want to restart my save game, nice video by the way.
Great video but I figured that out last year. Doing your own training gets you better players. In my first team I have 9 five star players because I trained them myself. I realized it works even for under 18s and more but its so hard to train them all.
thanks for the guide bro
RDF training is amazing for finding this, it is great that you covered this Jamie
Glad you think so!
Can you make how to use analyst&scout report for match prep? That would be huge help... btw really love ur content
Massively helpful tips, I was always giving this job to Assistant... Now, I'm gonna try this. Thanks for the effort pal.
Glad to help! I was the exact same.
never trust your staff in anything, your own experience can be much more useful than their information
Great Video my FM friend. Whst about the club logos, where did you download them from as these are real logos abd most of them were removed from sites due to license rights. Thanks
I always do all training myself since getting fm20, but I do always train specific players in the role I want then to play. But by doing this I do very rarely see them improve to 'accomplished' status in that position. In fact, fm20 seems to be amazing at players getting less familiar in that position. I buy bbm's and they turn over a season or three into dlp's or mezzalas. I then took to training and playing people as cm's, but again, while there stats improve they never rriseem to get nearer to being accomplished in that role.. I will try switching it to generic playing position and see what that does this season! Cheers.
The familiarity in the role doesn't do anything. It's just a game recommendation based on how the player's stats are arrayed and the reason why a player becomes "worse" in it is because as his stats change the game recommendations change as well. The only thing that matters is the familiarity in the position. you want your player to be natural in the position he is playing because if he isn't it will impact his positioning and decision making.
So if you are confident that a player is good at a particular role but the game only shows half "familiarity" in it, just ignore it and play him like that he wont be worse for it.
PS: when you ask the game to train a player in a specific role, the only thing that changes is the priority that is put into training the stats that are necessary for this role, which is why i don't agree with this video that is saying you should train the player on the position and not the role.
awesome video man! this was the missing piece for me
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! :)
I do have the same effect..without this schedule..i optimize my coaches on skill n personality.. and have a light workload..all my staff even the loan manager has at least determine personatlity..on training schedule..i let the most highest man management and tactical staff to handle it..
The one i can use from this is the rest technique shown in the vids..anyway im not on a big club..im using fc united..and the reason i know its working well..because i had rca turn on..and had a jump of at least 10 with my young player 120->130 and if they play well in a season..sometimes jump to 20 in a season..
Workload and coach skills n personality is super important i might say..
Tq for the vids...this is will massively improve my player even further..đđđ
Thanks for the write up, make sure you try what we do when you take FC united to the prem!
Simply impressive đ
Very interesting, thanks for sharing, will test it for sure. I always did general and individual training, as I consider it a major part of FM. What I just want to say is : it is great using training tips, looking for personality types, hidden abilities (I dont even know exactly how after so many years) BUT always remember it is a game, which we all love to play our way. I prefer to have players I like in real life, have good past memories in FM etc and look them develop slighty or not even, playing decent but not great than just focusing on numbers, attributes, personalities, arrows and staff. Every thing is nice when you do it at a certain level. My opinion of course. Keep up the great work! Cheers.
Keep us updated.
Curious... do you use this training during pre season or once the season has started?
QUESTION: If I do those schedules to my young teams, should I have them "Arrange friendly if no fixtures during the week", because then they will basically have a game on a no game week and double training.
You could also after a game 2x recovery and 1 Post Match analyst --> so players lose less Match Fitness and lose more injury risk
Anyone know how to get a low coach workload across the board ? Majority of mine seems to be average. excellent tutorial cheers guys!
I have some doubts about not training their specific role. I always though that had an impact on what atributes they improve more, and not focusing on their role probabely hurts in the long run? Idk
Impressive. Makes me wish I could try it on FM Touch.
Thanks, sadly limited for touch.
I did this for a season with my Wolfsburg save and didn't see the same kind of benefits. My players kept complaining about not liking the individual training they were assigned. Any advice?
Can you please make the same for FM21? Because I cannot load in these schedules in FM21.
Man, I read this article a few days ago on FM SCOUT and saw that it really works! Nicolas Pepe in my salve is really better now with this "right" type of training. Hello from Brasil!
Myself thought it was quite tricky to understand. So i spoke with Rober to break it down into a video, hopefully helps! -Jamie
@@fmscout Yeah, it really helped! Thank you Jamie.
More and more I am learning to enjoy this game better!
An observation. "I recently had an experience in the game, very good by the way. I downloaded some training schedules, among them one about Gegenpress. To sum up: With that, my team started to play much better now! It was incredible, the difference is remarkable!" That's why I don't let my assistant take over the training anymore.

@@OuvinteAmigao Hellooooooo :) Pelo jeito é brasileiro, né? rsrs... ou não?
@@mrenq5425 - sim, mas eu ainda jogo o FM2019
Hi great video, will be trying this without doubt. What do you do for pre season?
So far, the preset ones.
why not select a role? from what I know by selecting it the player will train to raise those attributes, so why put in playing position? also in the schedule is it really ok to use that many general/blue trainings? hope you see this and can answer it, thx.
help, with two teams it worked perfectly and suddelny with another team the all got red arrows and losing on every ability. is there are known bug?
Great video. What about pre season? Or should we start this when the season starts and have pre season separate?
We used the schedules for pre season, just plan the schedules around your games you have.
This looks incredible! How do you train the non-directly trainable stats such as tackling?
Tackling is being trained via "Defending" training on schedules.
So, what about goalkeepers? Will they make progress too?
One question. If i try to train a left winger to play on the right wing, the game automatically make me choose what role im assigning the player to. So i cant choose the "playing position" as suggested in the video.
I see on the schedules you do not utilise "match review" on the day after a game?
From FM19 to FM20 I haven't see the impact of this.
For Individual training it is better to design by role of your tactic or leave with like MC - playing position. Or this is automatically using the role based on your tactic ?
Anyone know for players outside of your first 11 if training in playing position or a new role you may want them to learn is more affective?
Iâve done this but my players keep complaining about training, any thoughts on how to stop this?
Wish I had seen this before I hired a load of new coaches!
Majority of my coaches have a Balanced personality so guessing without the Professional/model professional trait they won't develop as well?
The coaches personality is extremely important for this to succeed to you're correct.
@@fmscout does it work with personality "resolute"?
The funny thing is I actually make my own schedule just last week, no game, 1 game, 2 games. Just different training.
Great video, thanks
Glad you liked it!
Will something bad happen if team leaders are unhappy with the schedule (particularly high volume of quickness training)?
This is great thanks
i seem not to find any Model Citizens. But overall thank you for this tutorial i was very depressed that my players are not developing very well. Will write back in a couple of days to tell if the got any better.
- Model Citizen
- Model Professional
- Professional
- Fairly Professional
For Fairly Professional, make sure it has a good Determination.
Please where can I download the training schedule so as to use it for my team.
what i want to know is how and when you might tweak this setup, i will be trying it but I feel certain times maybe more detail would be useful, for instance if you are expected or advised to work on set pieces or feel the team needs to focus on something in particular, what you might be able to swap out, great starting point i believe though
hey could you please help me with getting these schedules I cant get them. even though I'm already a FM scout user
Iâm trying to train a right winger to play left wing, so currently have him training for that position and I play him on the left or right, if I was to change his training to the playing position would it slow his progress as Iâm sometimes playing him not on the left?
We recommend leaving "training playing position", and then playing him 100% on the left for the fastest change. He should then automatically start training on the left because he plays more there than the other.
@@fmscout But as Jake said sometimes he doesn't play him in that position, I know you said play him 100% on the left, but what if this isn't an option?
What if theres an injury or the African nations cup? (or so many other reasons that you may need to play them out of the usual position)
Lets say in this scenario the player you are training on the left needs to fill-in in the centre for 2 or 3 weeks, surely thats 2 or 3 weeks they are training in a position you wouldn't normally play them, wouldn't it be better to just have them training in the preferred position?
Would love for you guys to elaborate a bit on this as there was no explanation as to why its better :)
@@fmscout does it matter which preffered formation your fitness coaches have?
@Frank no
@@Kylian273 Thanks, what about GK coaches? do you know whether they do?
Can someone explain that whole fitness coaching thing? I did not understand it
Yeah i didnt get that because fitness coaches can only coach the two fitness columns in the coach training section
yes we need answers
Fitness coaches exist in the game because they help improve physical attributes for players (ex: pace/stamina/agility, you get it). The guide explains that by hiring a lot of fitness coaches, about six or more, with good personalities (professional/fairly professional, model/model citizen) also help improve mental attributes a lot faster.
@@vicenteperezcatalan1555 So the idea of using fitness coaches is simply that they train all squads in your club?
@@vicenteperezcatalan1555 Yes but why would regular coaches with professional personalities not have the same affect? What's so specific about fitness coaches that requires you to hire so many rather than just hiring regular coaches with good personalities? This wasn't explained at all

Should I do it for my under 23âs and my under 18âs?
hello jamie can this also use it for fm 21?
i hired more fitness coaches now but i can't let them take workload of other aspect of the training other than the strength and quickness (Fitness regime)...is this part of the exploit fixed by SI?
