Let's get the reporting correct. Please. The mom woke to the screams of the child. She thought it was from a nightmare. She didn't realize something happened until she saw the blood and before he lost consciousness he said "she stabbed me". The girl had run fm the house and the mom couldn't find her but she ended up coming back. The police did a great job keeping everyone calm.
Yea well not everyone gets the news like the police directly. They had to asked around. Good to know the police cam got released today.

This isn’t what I heard on Facebook. I saw the 25 min body cam footage, and the mom heard the son scream and she thought he was having a nightmare until she saw the blood. I hope the mother is okay. She was miserable.

I saw the body cam footage from the officer who arrested her. This 12 year old girl is no angel….she’s actually very frightening. I’m surprised the mother never noticed her anger issues. This could not have been out of the blue. If I was the mother, I don’t think I could ever look at my daughter ever again. This is tragic!!!
exactly! everyone saying her mental health is an excuse but i don’t think she’s THAT mentally ill. if she were though, she would’ve probably gotten help for it already but correct me if i’m wrong. this definitely could’ve been prevented and she deserves the consequences for taking her little brothers life away.

Is the mom suppose to stay up 24 hours a day thinking her young daughter is gonna stab her little brother. How does anyone know the girls medical history. @@charliegordon2266 Well the girl had anger issues and probably talking back issues which I’m sure the parent was aware of. I think some therapy maybe would have helped. To answer your question, no I do not think the mother should stay up 24 hours watching to see if her daughter is going to rage. I think there should have been some kind of mental help done about the daughter though considering she murdered her bro. I also don’t know if she was on medicine but it looks like maybe she should have been.

The mother said in the body cam in the police interview at the hospital that her daughter never showed aggression or any signs that she would do something like this. They had the typical brother sister arguments. The mother didn't do anything wrong. Even the mothers friend said that the girl never showed any issues that would have anyone believe that she would do this.

The sister didn’t wake the mother up. The son screaming woke the mother up. She thought he was having a nightmare until she saw the blood. The sister ran out of the house. They always get stuff wrong.

Me and my lil brother got into a lot of serious fights as kids. But I could never think of ever taking it this far, it was never that serious. This is a really sad situation and it all points back to bad parenting.

It has to do with a society which glorifies violence and sees violence as a way to solve their problems. Stroke your guns all you want. The 12 year old didn't wake her mom up. The screams of the 9 year old brother did. The mother thought he was having a nightmare, ran downstairs to wake him up and he was covered in blood crying "she stabbed me" mom did cpr on the boy until ambulance got there. So sad to see he passed away. I hope is mother is healing

Parents aren't the only ones failing. Society is failing. Government is failing. It's all an integrated system that's falling apart. Blaming the parents only addresses a fraction of the problem; if we want solutions instead of catharsis, we need to fix the system.
A society in which many people grow up without one or the other parent is common thanks to divorce.
It looks like this is another case of that, an overwhelmed mother with no clue just what their child actually is… many children end up in a tragic aftermath from having no discipline or correcting figure in their lives.

@D34THD3V a lot of kids only learn harm and abuse, and don’t actually understand love or empathy. It’s more complex than one action leading directly to a causal outcome. It is a long-standing pattern of behavior and treatment and how it is instilled. Many parents abuse or traumatize their kids but genuinely do it out of affection. Even if it negatively affects the kid in other capacities, what matters is if the parents are hateful and only teaching the kid to hate.

Back when there were two parents in most homes, the parents could keep a closer eye on the kids which also meant that they could keep animosity and sibling rivalry/abuse in check. I also was raised by a single mom and I got hit a lot and otherwise abused on a daily basis by my older sister who despised me. My mom thought she could parent one hour out of each day after work. It didn't work. When kids don't have supervision it's like lord of the flies.
My sister was the same. Then she abused her stepkids.

Its mostly their poverty, lack of education, lack of a substantial jobs market for the community and/or a history of drug problems, tied in part to the war on drugs in the 80s as well as the influx of fentanyl being transported by the cartels in the south. Also, these communities may lack even adequate healthcare, which causes a myriad of problems.

There had to be signs, whatever the conflict or altercation was that escalated it. Based on the news describing a single parent, one can possibly infer a level of negligence or deficient care. That’s so tragic if that’s the reason, because I’ve know all sorts of precarious domestic situations, they’re so complicated and there’s never a simple answer. I can understand a stressed exhausted parent ignoring red flags or signals, but that’s just so heart breaking. That girl is forever shackled mentally and physically to cutting her own brother’s life short. An investigation will bear the truth, but it’s likely messy.

The mom said in the police interview her daughter "is a good girl doesn't do anything wrong, no aggressive at all, she doesn't even cuss" yet in the body cam video she's (the daughter) is dropping f bombs all the time.
I think the mom wasn't paying much attention to her kids, not blaming her, idk her life, but I know no "good non-aggressive girl" just goes gets a knife and kills their baby brother.

My cousins were obsessed with partying and intimacy in their early teens. They all had their first kid before Age 18.
I'm 27 and I'm unmarried with no kids. And my brother is in the same situation.
We both got Straight A's in school. No history of discipline problems.

Judging by the emphasis on the word PARENT and not parents, I think it's safe to say the PARENT that was a asleep was the mother. Kids from single parent households tend to be more violent especially if they were raised only by their mother. Just look at the amount of people in jail for violent crimes. How many of them grew up in a broken home?

Your stats are iffy at best. You need to take into consideration that in families with a violent father who is abusive THAT behavior is learned from the male and often repeated, esp. by the son.

This is the same trend we see in which lack of education or care for families in communities leads to rising violence. This is nothing new, truly. Besides, theres no info on the parent lacking any supervision, theres enough to indicate- given the time of the murder- that the parent may have been asleep in bed.

All I had to do was hear the 12 year old "apologizing over and over and I could tell that not only was she faking but she had planned to murder her brother. It's so obvious this was premeditated. This girl needs to be in an adult mental institution for the rest of her sick life. Some people have no conscience and she's one of them. She knew exactly what she was doing.

They need to get their stories straight. The daughter ran & hid bc she was scared. Mom woke up by the screams of her son. She thought he was having a nightmare until she saw all the blood. Her son told mom that she (sister) stabbed him. This is such a heartbreaking tragedy. My heart goes out to his parents & loved one. Also the girl. She will have to live with this the rest of her life. Terrible.
The sister should get maximum punishment for this, once could be deemed accidental, but three times? She knew what she was doing.

If you listen carefully to her she is very manipulative. She was only worried about going to jail and asked if the hand cuffs were necessary.
Also, her brother was asleep in bed when she stabbed him. So it wasn't a spur of the moment thing done while they were arguing.
Stop speaking on something that you don’t know about , the girl has very bad mental issues around 5 causing her to cut herself and injure herself a lot , she was put on meds however those meds had a high dose causing her to have more severe mental issues , these meds were also meds that made the girls brain function but she had to many that her brain relied on them, since her issues got worse , her doctor removed her but since those meds helped her brain function but she was removed from them she had a manic episode which means that 75%of your thoughts seem correct and you lose control which essentially happened to this girl resulting in her stabbing her brother . If anything this is the doctors fault for overdosing her in the first place

What is going on is the parents are not raising their children properly, period. They have spoiled them rotten and wonder why this happens.
I have a sibling rivalry with my own sister because shes a tattle teller that tells on me but she does it to hold me accountable since I'm younger. There were times I have dark thoughts about wanting to do something considering how she pushed me too far and our relationship isn't good and we never talk to eachother since kids but I won't ever stab her to death like this.
