Thank you for the heartfelt tribute to a star crossed actor.
Never stop making these travel videos they truly are amazing and just pulls the viewer in! I adored this video an I am not sure how many more stars will be remembered and honored in this manor which Dean and Presley have been! Thanks for this fantastic documentary travel video!
East Of Eden is one of my favorite movies. James Dean was amazing.
You have such a soft, sweet, old soul.
This was extremely well done thank you for the opportunity to learn about James. I was unaware he was a Quaker. I was raised a Quaker and still belong.
Well shoot fire that was awesome! Thanks so much for letting us travel along with you and visit. Throughly enjoyed and learned too. Felt like a took a mini vacation! You're the best!
A true Deaner. I sure appreciate the shout out❤
You inspire me! ❤️
You were just down the road from me!! My dad went to school with James Dean❤❤
This was a wonderful experience on the life of James Dean. Thank you for sharing this trip with us.😊
James di so much in his short but famous life
Beautiful tribute to James Dean. Garfield, too.
Thank you for the tour. I was starryeyed over Elizabeth Taylor and through her James Dean . Have no idea why Giant was okay for elementary students, but my cousin and I went because National Velvet starred in it. A couple of years ago my two nieces and I went to Marfa, Texas for a week. We saw the tribute to Giant - huge cutouts of the actors and the only parts left of the house. We ate at the Hotel Paisono where the cast stayed.
Thank you for taking us with you and sharing your scrapbooks! ❤
Thanks for watching!
I got emotional when you were at the farm. I could feel your emotion. Thank you for the great video
I just made the pilgrimage to Fairmount in May! It's been on my bucket list for years. I went to Marion to his birth site memorial and mother's grave as well. The museum guide said they plan to have his car on display when the new museum opens. You are so right about the local folks; they were all wonderful. If you are a James Dean fan, you need to get to Fairmount. Your scrapbooks are wonderful. Oh, I also made it to Mini Measures in Remington. It was right along the interstate we traveled 😊
Thanks for making this video. I've always been a fan of James Dean (so handsome!) but learned so much more from you. ❤ I love your scrapbooks that you made. And I love that you still have them. ❤️ Thanks again.
This was WONDERFUL Misty! Love Old Hollywood! ❤
Me too!!
Very cool Misty! Beautiful American small town!
Misty, do you still have your James Dean jacket??
I absolutely LOVE that vintage sheets shirt!!! Its amaziiing!!!!
I totally love that you saved your scrapbooks!!! This is why I keep EVERYTHING of my kids… I want to have these memories for them when they are older! Its SO important!!!!
THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL. !!!
Thanks for sharing your trip to James Dean’s home town. Loved the vintage sheet shirt on you! I hope you purchased it.😊
I did!
Love the shirt Misty! I didn’t know Garfield was from Indian or James Dean! My girlfriend was obsessed with him. Such a bad boy. Lol
Fairmount is just down state rd. 26 from where I live in Kokomo. I have been through there many, many times, and antique shopped there. I have only been to one of the festivals. My husband loves the older cars, so we spent a lot of time looking at the cars. But I have never been to the museum or any of the places that you showed us. I really need to do that. Thank you for taking us along with you. 😊
I love your travel vlogs! Learning through Misty’s eyes 😁♥️♥️♥️, so much fun . Thank you for bringing us along
Glad you like them!
That sheet t-shirt is adorable on you! 😍so glad you got it
Hi Misty. Really enjoyed this tribute to James Dean. It was very interesting seeing a glimpse into his short life. I love his movies Giant and Rebel without a cause. He was a great actor for sure . Thank you so much for sharing. I love the shirt you found that was made from vintage sheets. So cool. Also liked your James Dean earrings. Take care my sweet friend. God Bless You and Your Family.
Thank you so much!
I live about 20 miles from Chalome, CA, where he got in his accident. Still a scary intersection! 😬
I think it's all very fascinating! And what a handsome man James Dean was! 😍 Such a shame that he got to go way too early! Maybe you could also dedicade a wall in your store to James Dean 😄 🥰 💗
I totally agree!
This was heartfelt and very special thank you so much for sharing it. ❤️
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice work Misty! I learned so much about James Dean, Indiana, and you. It was very interesting to see the places that played a significant role in JD's life and death. Seriously I was so caught up when you were showing the farm, church, and motorcycle repair shop/club. Also I LOVED seeing your scrapbooks! Thank you for making this video.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏👏👏♥️🙂
Hey, thanks for watching and leaving such a thoughtful comment! I'm really happy you enjoyed the video!
Thank you so much for sharing, Misty and Mark X
I fell in love with James Dean in the 1970s.. he was so handsome. I completely understand why you love him Misty ❤
Enjoyed this video a lot. I remember James Dean and what a shock it was when he died. I haven’t known very much about him. I’m originally from Lubbock, Tx so Buddy Holly is the big icon of my youth. I’m 72 now so it’s been a while !
Great video misty thanks for taking us
My pleasure 😊
Omg… that shirt💜 I had the Peter Pan sheets!
This was a fun video ❤ Thank you Misty!
What a great video...thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Omgoodness thank you for this. I’m such a big fan of James Dean. I even bought the same model of camera he was photographed with cause I thought it was so cool. Glad to know he still is inspiring people.
I love that Garfield is from there as well. Very cool😊. What a beautiful town and that farm is idyllic. What a lovely childhood he must have had. May God rest his soul. His end was so soon and tragically sad.
Thanks, Misty for a lovely trip down Memory Lane. James Dean made quite a splash in Hollywood for such a short amount of time he spent acting. I wonder if his modest headstone was due in part to his humble background as a Quaker. The Quaker religion is very humble and modest. You certainly gleened a lot of information to pass along. Again, thanks. I'ms so glad you had such a great trip.
James Dean may have left us too soon, but his legacy lives on. Thanks for joining me on this journey through his Hollywood story.
My Daughter used to live in Fairmount. She took us for a visit to the Cemetery. One of the Groundsmen was a member of her Church. A group of people came to visit James' Grave 🪦🌷 while we were there. We All got to talking
You know how it is with Us Hoosiers.😂
Nice tour, Misty!
I loved this so much! I LOVED James Dean so much as a teen to my twenties, he is one of my all time favourites. My artistic creative daughter was born on his death day.
I love these videos so very much!! I could see how much he means to you and I understand that. ❤ There was a time when I was obsessed with Elvis. I’ve told you before that I love him, but after he died I was SO sad. Extremely sad! I played records constantly and read whatever I could find. How did we get along before the internet? 😂
Anyway, I can relate to your celebrity “obsessions”. I appreciate learning more about Jimmy from you, because of your love for him. ❤
Nice to see photos of when the Winslow's 1949 Ford was still in it's original Gray paint. Too bad it got painted fire engine red.
Fascinating! Thx!
Thanks for sharing ❤
Thanks for watching!
Awe. Fairmount! My ex is from there and I used to go to James Dean Days every year! (I think they called it something else-museum days?).
I have a Lenny sheet shirt!
I think we were both there at same time at least once-80’s I was there most years😄. I’m in People magazine posing with Ms. Nahl -just happened to be there meeting her when they wanted a photo so a group of us just posed with her like we were her family! My Mom loved that I was in People mag …in a James Dean related article 😂
The shirt was a keeper
I enjoyed the trip and hearing about James Dean! You are a true long-time fan! Thank you.
Yes I am!
That was a great video Misty.
Thank you!
Awesome ❤
Can’t tell you enough how much I loved this video. I learned so much. Years ago, I visited The Jimmy Stewart museum in Indiana, PA. Love old Hollywood.
Great minds think alike! It's always fascinating to learn about the golden era of Hollywood.
@@themistyshow. I so agree, like the picture of Eartha Kitt.
Wow great video/story! I was wondering how or what got you interested in him. I mean it wasn’t like a teenage crush on a movie star, you were very young like in elementary school when you were writing about him, etc. Was it a parental influence or was it just because he was locally close to you? Love love the scrapbooks! Thanks for sharing a story that was very special to you! Very interesting!
Beautiful video!
Thank you very much!
I enjoyed this video immensley!! Good Job!!
Yay! Thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing your story about James Dean and his town where he lived in I loved it!
Glad you enjoyed it!
❤💕❤
Whoa I want to go on the Garfield trail!!! Had no idea that existed thank you!!!!
Me too!!
You've inspired me to take a trip out to Fairmont, Indiana for the 70th anniversary. I'll be retired by then and free to travel anytime. I had been to the crash site 7 or 8 years ago. My friend and I are also "weirdos" when it comes to visiting the gravesites of the famous whenever we travel. On one trip, we found the sight where Bonnie and Clyde had been ambushed then went to visit the gravesites where they're buried. Gotta put Lorretta Lynn on my visit list too after watching your video. (Don't get me started on all of the Elvis adventures I've been on.) Thx for including your travels along with all of your other content. For those who may not travel much, you just add something more for their enjoyment. 🎉
Wow, sounds like you've got some epic travel plans in the works! Fairmont, Lorretta Lynn, and even the Bonnie and Clyde site - you're going all out! Keep me posted on your adventures, and thanks for being a part of the journey!
Cute video!
Thank you! 😊
I loved James Dean. Did the museum have any of his eye glasses?
I didn't see any, but I'm certain they do! The new museum will have even MORE items on display!
