God this theme is incredible to hear every time. I love the idea of having a canonically jacked nerd blasting his archnemesis with a giant lazer to a sick battle march theme.
Just tell you played the battle on Japanese voice option, because "OOOOOOOOOOOSVAAAAAAAAAALD!!!" From Harvey gaves helluva goosebumps and you GET READY TO FINISH HARVEY
@@ooommm4024you can even go further by going 99k damage once you unlock the warrior class and complete the skill tree. Find the right gear and Alephan's wisdom and boom you do 300k damage every turn.
Harvey's One True Magic is JUST very powerful dark magic, whereas Osvald's One True Magic transcends elemental magic and breaks weaknesses of any foe. Osvald is superior.
Love the irony of that considering the flashback cutscene when he first meets Osvald they tell that guy that he is just channeling a slightly more powerful lightning spell, only for Harvey to basically do the same thing with The Shadow.
I honestly have a bit of a theory that Dark magic is actually just a weaker form of The Shadow, whereas Light Magic is a weaker version of the Holy Flame.
I laughed so hard when Harvey used his One True Magic I almost dropped the controller. - used Agnea's lion dance on someone, forgetting I had an NPC with Bewildering Ballad. I facepalm. - NPC with Bewildering Ballad gives everyone Reflect - Harvey uses his One True Magic - something about a lot of zeroes popping up and I couldn't stop laughing
Yeah, Harvey was such an asshole who reveled in being evil. I am certain he grew that mustache just so he could twirl it at Osvald. Also, side note, when beginning this fight, I love hearing Osvald say, "Harvey... Let's talk..."
@@offdutyenglishmajor9924 Of them all, he was the most petty villain. What he did to Osvald wasn't really because of some grand plan. It was done out of pure jealousy for how good Osvald is at his job. Which just makes it extremely satisfying to beat his damn face in. Even that he apparently survived doesn't take it away, because Osvald doesn't need to kill him to show the trash his place. Osvald's greatest revenge against Harvey is just to look after his daughter, and advance his understanding of magic.

When I fought him, Castti was the conjurer and I made everyone's weapons do fire damage. Felt good to have Osvald beat him with his staff and leave devastating burns.
Wow, I missed out. Did so much damage I completely skipped this phase. Also happened to be running Price of Power on Ozvald, so burning an entire bar of MP for a single blast of One True Magic was amusing.
Harvey is this type of villain who grew a mustache just so he could twirl it at Osvald.
"Let us see once and for all which of us has attained the One True Magic!"
*_Osvald can use One True Magic!_*
I think I figured it out guys
That made me laugh 😭
Welp, that's a bit anti-climax...but I can take it.
And then Harvey uses the One True Magic too

Just did this boss fight last night and nearly cried hearing this version of Osvald's theme, this was so cathartic and I'm so happy for him

One True Magic, hands down, most powerful skill in game. My Osvald obliterated bosses with it

Harvey : Dies.
Osvald: But some things do change...(0:20 starts to play) _I_ have changed.
so fucking raw
Silence! Not another word!
The way Osvald's theme turns from one of Anger and Vengeance, to a song of a father's love and will to protect is amazing.
Harvey's One True Magic is JUST very powerful dark magic, whereas Osvald's One True Magic transcends elemental magic and breaks weaknesses of any foe.
Osvald is superior.
But its le shadow™️!!!

Yeah, Harvey! Your new skill is called "Ultimate Magic", not "One True Magic". Idiot.
I honestly have a bit of a theory that Dark magic is actually just a weaker form of The Shadow, whereas Light Magic is a weaker version of the Holy Flame.
If you pay attention you'll notice Harvey's version of it damages everyone on the screen, himself and his summons included.
Let's 'talk' Harvey!
*Osvald proceeds to speak in the language of One True Magic nuking*
I always imagine when he says that it's accompanied by him cracking his knuckles or neck
I laughed so hard when Harvey used his One True Magic I almost dropped the controller.

I love how Osvald’s theme gets turned from a dreadful cello melody to a rockin guitar solo, one filled with newfound hope/resolve.
Of all the villains in this game, this is the one who is not only the most entertaining, but the most satisfying to beat down

After chapter 4, I was ready to *exterminate* Harvey.

He forgoes the One True Magic in favor of just beating up Harvey with a staff…
The best revenge: have the most powerful spell, and beat your opponent with a stick, because they aren't worthy of the effort of casting said spell.
