Ahuh! Now I see. You didn't travel north. Pity. Because after Piper it does start to get a bit harder. And Letiahua & Deception the roads are hard ground and you have to deal more with pot-holing. I actually camped at Piper with the guys that service all the boreholes in the CKGR. Interesting bunch of guys.
Yeah, that MAN 6x6 water truck came past us - didn't stop though... Quite a job out there!
So you exited he park for fuel. In my opinion you missed the best part. The roads are much better around the pans and in the Lethiahau river. Game viewing is best at Piper Pan and Deception Valley. Better enter from Rakops next time. 😊

CKGR is magic. You made the right call and very brave to do the route from Khutse to Xade.
