How do I water this succulent stem cutting? Specially once they start poking out roots how do I treat the soil ? Am I to put cuttings in a green house & keep soil moist?? Or do I Let soil dry out in between waterings and keep it out of a green house ? I just can’t seem to keep the roots growing. Roots will either rot on like the 2nd or 3rd day after poking through, or they just dry out . I’m feeling hopeless because no one really is helping me. Including google so if you read this please I can really use your advice.
    Thank you so much ❤

So sorry for the delay. You do not want to treat the soil. You may not even want “soil” at all. Meaning you want something that is low or no nutrient that drains well.
Try coco coir, or sand, or perlite, or mix those together, instead of soil.
You are aiming for damp but not soggy, and not too dry.
Keep me posted, I’m sending you good vibes ~~

Hopefully someone seeing this can help you, @gertrudefernandes2184. I purchased mine in the summer at Lowes, just walking through. They are annuals where I live. It was an unplanned purchase for me!

Where did you buy your purslane? I'm in Chicago and can only find portulaca. I went as fast as ordering some cuttings in from Puerto Rico that are quite lovely. However, I would like to trade with someone to get variety.
I'm in zone 5. Do I need to bring them inside over winter?

I was fortunate to find it in an annuals section at LOWES

You can also find purslane outside…it’s a common “weed.”

I'm in Chicago too and I got mine at a local farmer's market. They're very accommodating plants. Tasty too. lol

I had a handful of cuttings that I forgot about for a few days. I went ahead and put them in water and they had roots in one day! Once the roots are about an inch long I’ll pot them up and see what happens.

Yes! I just did and planted in a pot with soil. I'll find out how well it works.
