I have found the best way to release the roots from dirt is to put it in a tub of water and carefully massage them. It is much easier on the plant and the dirt releases much easier.

The latin binomial should inform you as to why your water props failed. Euphorbia pulcherrima. They're a thin, flat-leaved succulent. Most of them die after Christmas from overwatering. They're more closely related to Tanzanian zipper plants than they are to pothos or other houseplants. So use the same kind of gritty soil that you would use for echeveria or cactus, let the cuts callus over for a day, and then plant them in dry gritty soil and wait 3 days to water them. They should have enough root stubs to take in a little bit of water. Don't water them again until they tell you (drooping).

I used to have these at my old house. My neighbor just trimmed theirs and now I have a bowl full of clippings in water. About to do this myself. The process is pretty much the same for most plants, but I still look for videos to be sure there is no "gotcha" in one variety.

I was watching videos where these seeds need to be put in a freezer , your way is different .

This will work just fine and most people will have no issues, but best practice is to sterilize the pruners with rubbing alcohol prior to use and always put the rooting hormone (not always necessary) in a separate small container before dipping so as not to contaminate the original container with any disease that may or may not be visible in the mother plant at the time of taking the cutting.

I had a large one growing at the front of the house. Had it for about 7 years. One summer was really humid and I was away for a week and came home to find it had dropped dead. I was so distraught.

Have you tried air layering instead? From what I've seen wineberries seem to tip-layer exetremely slowly when compared to most other brambles and in nature reproduce mostly by seeds. I wonder if air leayering works better in their case.

I've heard people say not to push the cutting all the way down, because water might pool at the bottom of the soil and cause root rot. What has been your experience?

I have a shoot growing where i previously removed a sand cherry tree as it was very old. Will the shoot grow into a replacement? It has grown 3 inches and is about 16 now.

These route well in water too

I take off all leaves and it seems to root quicker as all the energy goes to roots I think

In your first video you did three ways of propagation, but in this you only addressed one of them and I saw in one of the other questions and answer the water. One didn't work for you this time, but what about the ones where you used longer pieces of stem?

I do the air layering method where I just take a lower branch, strip some leaves and bury it 5-6” and forget about it for a few months. Once rooted I cut from the mother plant and transplant. I have done your method with a variety of other plants. For me the latter method is easier because I don’t need that many plants or supplies and I don’t have to worry about them if I go on vacation.

How do you plant the sweet potato slips after they sprout? Do you cut the potato to separate? Do you plant the in the ground afterwards? Im in the Trooper, Montgomery county PA area. When would i plant the slips?

You may want to explain what growth medium you have in the tray in case one hasn't seen your previous video regarding the other cuttings in the tray.

I do fig pops in a cold room (45f) over bottom heat (76f) dark room to get roots before leaves. I cover them with frost cloth which gives ventilación and keeps the warmth in. As they start to send out leaves, they go in my greenhouse where they get light. I enjoyed your video.

I want to let you know, I like how you put ‘Update’ on your update videos, it really helps if looking for an actual up update. Which brings me to....I would love an update to the ‘Japanese Holly’. Now as for this experiment on your fig starts. My curiosity question is (would be), the two that started (two varieties cut in two) growing roots, were they both the top portion or the bottom, or even one of each? Thx for this video… I know I’m late but I’ve been trying to keep my poinsettias for years but just did not think they would thrive … my girlfriend told me that she have a huge one that she leaves on her front porch… she’s had it for two years now … it’s a beautiful dark green foliages during the summer months … I’m watching from Georgia in the US … it get pretty hot here in zone 8 or 9 I think
