- In this video we will make a game in 10 minutes and then publish it. We will use the core engine. Core is powered by the Unreal Engine and it is both a tool and a platform to create and publish games (similar to roblox).

I spent 14 hours creating a base game like this in Unreal Engine, and I'm just blown away by how powerful Core is. Those 14 hours are reduced to 1 or 2 hours. Insane.
You might. But UE4 > Core In EveryThing. There are many Things You can do in UE4. And let s not talk about the OPTIMIZATION wich is the best Engine for Making a game.
@@Psiclonee I think for people just trying to get into game development, Unreal Engine is pretty overwhelming and it's hard to appreciate the difference in power. Unreal > Core in everything, but Cores usability and accessibility is better.
Honestly, I think Core and Unreal are probably not even comparable, for the most part. Although they can seem like it. I think it's a matter of choosing the best tool for the job. Core seems like a really good learning tool.

@@cws9637 In my humble opinion I would not recommend that. If you wanted to experiment and play around, sure, but if your goal is to produce an end product I would not recommend it. Mostly because for all things important whatever you learn in Core won't translate to something like Unity or Unreal. You can get some understanding of UI and flow by using Core, but if your at all experienced in 3d, development or interfaces in general then there is no point.

With Core being powered by UE4, Core can be used for prototyping and testing for more experienced developers. Use Core to test game modes and see how they will play, then implement what you've tested in UE.
can you expand on it with stuff from unreal or is it "you got what´s there?"
@@RSProduxx It's a "You got what's there" type deal. Basically everything that comes in the Core engine is what you get. When it comes to programming, you can make your own custom scripts. I just don't know if you're able to add your own custom assets though.

The power and features of this engine is head and shoulders above Game Guru and Copper Cube, and so much easier to use than Unity and Unreal Engine. Perfect GUI, visuals and gameplay!

@Mr CKD i checked it. you need internet to login to epic games and core. When you start making a game you dont need internet. some basic resources like trees are available without internet. But when you need to add more stuff or if you want to save the game then you need internet. So basically it mostly works with internet.

Can we edit how the player looks like ? Like replace their head only with an alien head ... or edit their arm ..etc ? keeping in mind, whatever we replace is something we import from outside (like 3d head drawing) rather than using an existing content in the platform.

Core runs well on a system with pretty descent specs. I feel that you can completely work with 8gb ram and GTX 1050 for the minimum

Core engine is built on top of UE4, and you cannot make stand alone games or Steam games, your games lives only within Core platform, and you cannot make profit out of it, so it is useless unless you want to test game concept, learn basics, or to do games just for fun.
yeah but unreal isn't that much harder so you might as well just make all the money by doing it yourself rather than giving core a cut

Yeah! If you want to learn game design, it’s really good. I personally use core for quick prototyping and trying out new ideas! Once you are comfortable with working in the 3D environment, then you can transition to learning Unreal Engine or Unity.
