Nilgiri Hills of Western Ghats, Mettupalayam to Coonoor And Sim's Park

The Nilgiris district (Tamil: நீலகிரி மாவட்டம்) is one of the 38 districts in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Nilgiri (English: Blue Mountains) is the name given to a range of mountains spread across the borders among the states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala. The Nilgiri Hills are part of a larger mountain chain known as the Western Ghats. Their highest point is the mountain of Doddabetta, height 2,637 m. The district is contained mainly within the Nilgiri Mountains range. The administrative headquarters is located at Ooty (Ootacamud or Udhagamandalam). The district is bounded by Malappuram district of Kerala to the west, Coimbatore and Palakkad to the south, Erode to the east, and Chamarajnagar district of Karnataka and Wayanad district of Kerala to the north. As it is located at the junction of three states, namely, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka, significant Malayali and Kannadiga populations reside in the district. Nilgiris district is known for natural mines of Gold, which is also seen in the other parts of Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve extended in the neighbouring states of Karnataka and Kerala too.

Sim's Park is in Coonoor, The Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu. It is an important tourist place to visit in Coonoor, at a height of 1780 meters above mean sea level. Here the maximum temperature goes up to 28 degree Celsius and the minimum falls to 5 °C. The average rain fall of this garden is 150 cm. It extends over an area of 12 hectares of undulating land and possesses a number of natural advantages.

ഞാൻ ആദ്യമായി ഊട്ടിയിൽ പോകുന്നത് 1994 ൽ ആണ് . നിലമ്പൂരിൽ നിന്നും ബസ്സിൽ കയറി ഗൂഢല്ലൂരിൽ ഇറങ്ങി അവിടെ നിന്നും അടുത്ത ബസ്സിലാണ് ഊട്ടിയിലേക്ക്‌ പോയത്. ഊട്ടിയിൽ നിന്നും ഒരു ടാക്സി പിടിച്ച് കുന്നൂരിലേക്ക് പോയി . കുന്നൂരിലെ ഈ ഗാർഡൻ സന്ദർശിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവിടെ ഏതോ സിനിമയുടെ ഷൂട്ടിങ് നടക്കുന്നുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവിടെ ആരോ അന്ന് പറഞ്ഞത് ഈ ഗാർഡൻ ഏതോ സ്വകാര്യ വ്യക്തിയുടേതാണ് എന്നാണ്. കുന്നൂരിൽ പേപ്പട്ടി വിഷത്തിനുള്ള മരുന്ന് നിർമിക്കുന്നുണ്ട് എന്നും കേട്ടിരുന്നു , ശരിയാണോ എന്നറിയില്ല . കുന്നൂരിൽ നിന്നും ഊട്ടിയിലേക്ക്‌ മടങ്ങിയത് ടോയ് ട്രെയിനിൽ ആയിരുന്നു .

ഗുഡലൂർ വഴി ഇനി ബസ്സില്ലന്നറിഞ്ഞു മേട്ടപ്പാളയംകോയമ്പത്തൂർ ബസ്സ് സ്റ്റാർട്ടിംങ്ങിൽ ഒന്നും നോക്കിയില്ല ചാടിക്കാറി ആ യാത്രയിൽ കണ്ട കാഴ്ചകൾ അതിമനോഹരം. ഭൂമി ശരിക്കും കാണുകയാണെന്ന് തോന്നിപ്പിക്കുമാറുള്ള വളവുകളും തിരുവുകളും.
ഒരു പക്ഷേ ഗൂഡല്ലൂർ വഴിയുള്ള ബസ് കിട്ടിയിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ ആ കാഴ്ച നഷ്ടപ്പെടുമായിരുന്നു.
കോയമ്പത്തൂരിൽ ഇറങ്ങി ട്രൈനിൽ കുറ്റിപ്പുറത്തേക്ക് ബസ്സിന് കോട്ടക്കൽ പിടിച്ചു.

പ്രീയ ജിതിൻ ഞാൻ ആദ്യമായി കൂനൂരും, ഊട്ടിയും കാണുന്നത് 1980 ൽ ആണ്. എന്റെ ആന്റി അവിടെ(കൂനൂർ)ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ഏതാണ്ട് ഒരു മാസം ഞാൻ അവിടെയുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ആന്റിക്ക് ഒരു വോൾക്‌സ് വാഗൻ(ടെമ്പോ)ഉണ്ട്ടായിയിരുന്നു, ആന്റി നല്ലപോലെ ഡ്രൈവ് ചെയ്യുന്ന ആളായിരുന്നത് കൊണ്ട് ഊട്ടിയുടെ മിക്ക സ്ഥലങ്ങളും നല്ലപോലെ ആസ്വദിക്കാൻ സാധിച്ചു. പലപ്പോഴായി ആറേഴു തവണ ഊട്ടിയിൽ പോയിട്ടുണ്ട്. എങ്കിലും താങ്കളെ പോലെയുള്ളവരുടെ വീഡിയോയിൽ നിന്നാണ് ഞാൻ പോയ വഴിയിലെ കാഴ്ചകൾ കൃത്യമായി മനസ്സിലാക്കുന്നത്. മേട്ടുപ്പാലയത്തുനിന്നും മുന്നോട്ട് പോയി വലത് തിരിഞ്ഞാൽ കൊത്തഗിരി റൂട്ട് കിട്ടും, അത് ഇതിനേക്കാൾ അടിപൊളിയാണ്, കൊത്തഗിരി, കോടനാട് കണ്ട ശേഷം, ഊട്ടിക്ക് പോവുക, അവിടെ ഊട്ടി സെന്റർ ഒഴിച്ച് കാണാൻ പറ്റുന്ന ഒത്തിരി സ്ഥലങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ട്. നെഗറ്റീവ് ആയ അഭിപ്രായങ്ങൾ വിട്ടു കളയുക, പോസിറ്റീവ് ആയി മാത്രം ചിന്തിക്കുക. ഒരു പരാതിയുണ്ട്, നോട്ടിഫിക്കേഷൻ കിട്ടുന്നില്ല.ALL THE BEST JITHIN.എല്ലാം തികഞ്ഞ ആരും ഇല്ല ഈ ലോകത്തിൽ.👍👍
