all my life i've just wanted to do tasks and not get interrupted by an emergency meeting, dead body report or an impostor killing me :C the tasks are so fun

12:13 I believe the task is about letting water flow through these pipes. And in 12:26, the task is filling the water dispenser. You will a water bottle from the boiler room then fill the empty water bottle in the water dispenser.

So, on ships we regulate water usage since membrane filtering is incredibly expensive and hard to maintain. More than likely they are regulating water flow from the boiler and "hotel services" (Showers, toilets, and stuff. usually that flow is regulated to a central area called a hydropneumatic tank which distributes the water around the area). so the task is refilling those services and allowing water flow back into the serviceable tanks from a reservoir.

People beat Among Us to death then strapped it to a horse and dragged it across the entire ocean. For anyone left who isn't tired of it, this doesn't exactly seem like the most enticing speedrun. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Among Us, but this speedrun is just walking and clicking. It takes out the most fun part of the game, y'know?
@@trivialjester43 It's actually a lot more than movement and clicking. Finding optimal movement lines takes some practice, and the game can punish you for trying to cut a corner too tight. And as far as the mouse goes, you have to be very accurate, which is hard when going fast. Try a run before you knock it for being easy.

Quick tips to note
1. There are hotkeys you can use, such as space or E for interactions, and Escape for closing menus
2. For quicker task completion, you can press escape right as you see the "Task complete"
3. Right as you click the button for diverted power, you can leave the task and it should give you the task complete
4. You can skip the animations for a few different tasks such as inspect samples and empty garbage, like you can pull the garbage lever before the leaves hit the bottom of the chute, it actually works

@@beb190 if you signed in and went into settings, there were options to change that. there still are, but they arent in settings anymore and instead out in the open bc apparently half the people who played among us didnt know what settings were
So if I get it right, this speedrun consist to be a good crewmate and told you to do your task. This speedrun have a good intuition since it teaches you to avoid imposter.

3:20 Potential timesave: If you click between two of the hexagons, it toggles both at the same time; I think you could have clicked in the middle of those three and been done in one click.
Tbh thats the least needed timesave from this entire run
I think you would lose more time by accurately aiming for the center of two instead of just clicking faster
It has been fixed recently i tested it
also during the trash ejector parts you can pull the lever faster than the garbage falling so it doesnt bounce and saves time

Tip with the task in navigation in which you align the thing in the center, you don’t have to drag the crosshairs, instead just click the center and you shave off a few milliseconds. Playing among us for 2 years really teaches you how to complete your chores as fast as possible with no room for error because you could die any second.

Speed Run Strat: If you pull the trash ejector lever as soon as it appears, the task goes a lot faster, since the leaves have some downward momentum that you usually loose when they hit the bottom of the compactor. (see 2:55)

I honestly really enjoyed doing the tasks more then the real part of the game. it was to the point where I would sometimes yell an expletive when I was interrupted.
Here in under 5 minutes! Also there’s a interesting underrated game called “mirrors edge” interesting to speed run considering its gameplay

Nice run!! The tasks were always my favorite part of Among Us tbh, though I only ever played on Skald. I always really liked routing based on what randomized tasks I got at the start

There's one potential strategy that I think you missed (unless it's been updated out of the game) - if you keep spinning the water valves even after they stop moving, it keeps increasing the fill rate, which speeds up the task.
never would i have thought there would be speedruns of among us. makes you wonder what other multiplayer games can be speedrun
1:57 you can actually double click the arrow to do two engines at the same time.
Since some of your speedruns involve old games, could I suggest speedrunning Feeding Frenzy?
For real though, I really miss this game. I had a group of like 5-15 people who would play fairly consistently for months when it was big. We used an auto muter and stuff and everything and it was great
I feel like I'm the only person who uses keyboard shortcuts (Like space to open a task/panel or R to report a body) I'm sure it would save a ton of time by already having your mouse where it needs to be, or at least fairly close, before you've even walked up to said task. A couple other tasks it was weird how they did it like Stabilize Steering where you can just click instead of trying to drag. Maybe that's just because I've played too much Among Us though 🤣
I think you should do a Monument Valley Speedrun. it is very fun as I have done it before and when you get the hang of it you can go very quick.

At 3:12 you can just click in the center of the target and the crosshair will automatically go there, saving maybe one or two seconds.
Moving engines into the lines can finish the task so long as it’s close enough

For temperature tasks on Polus, you can hold the button; you don’t even need to spam it.
Spamming is faster and doesn't let you overshoot.
@@misirtere9836 Believe it or not, you can’t overshoot. The game doesn’t let you. Also, I think it takes the same amount time to finish the task either way.
@@andrewtwilliams Nope. There's a specific rate at which holding the button scrolls through the numbers, and if you mash faster than that rate, it scrolls faster.
