Hey Joe, had my oil changed on my 2005 International DT466e before I left Colorado. Dipstick is showing very low oil level. . Question is is it normal to have this engine @167K miles burn oil?
@@JoesBusBarn thank you ! Even if I don’t see signs of oil leaking, this could be the reason why it’s using up so much oil? Could it be possible that the engine just burned it up or unlikely?
It all depends on how the engine has been cared for. PM’s and checks. It is possible that the engine uses up oil. How much blow by does your engine emit.
I just bought a 2012 International 26' box truck with maxxforce engine I got it for a really good deal I didn't hear not one person talking good stuff about that engine
These engines are not bad if the PM’s are kept up. I work on them on a daily basis and most of the problems are due to driver abuse and neglect. On ur particular engine. As long as u take it out on the road and keep it above 55 for a couple of hrs. U should be fine. Biggest issue would be resolved. Dpf filters. If u want more info. Don’t hesitate to ask. If u prefer. 32 quarts that's 8 gallon I didn't know it takes that much oil

When you change the transmission filter you don't have to fill it with the transmission fluid ?

Check hose coming out from crankcase breather. Might be loose or cracked. It could also be a bad crankcase breather addy.

Valve cover. Drivers side towards rear. 3 inch plastic circle bolted to side of valve cover.

Hey there Juan. I would first scan the unit. It sounds like you might have a faulty speed sensor or connection.
