I stopped smoking in 2001, right about now. No substitutes, no snacking, no weight gain, no nothing; I found it really easy. I think the key is you have to want to do it and you have to want to do it for yourself, not anyone else. At the end of the day, you're the one that's got to do it, not the other person. I just decided I didn't want to smoke anymore. I hadn't been enjoying it for quite a while and all it was was a nasty, dirty habit. I'd planned to stop at Christmas that year but I couldn't wait until then so I just stopped. If I'm honest, I don't even think I really missed it. I was just so happy to have done it.
Very best of luck to all those who are trying to give up, not just this October but at any time. You really will reap huge benefits from it.
    🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞!

I was talking to my dad saying when this pack is finished I’m stopping. My dad said you will never do it in a million years and 9 years later still not smoking and did it the hard way too xx

I gave up smoking about 15 years ago without the aid of patches or gum.
It was very tough for a few weeks but put all that wanting feeling into running instead and have never looked back . Good luck

Hi guys. I smoked for 24 years and gave up 2 years ago on 19th October. I tried so many times and failed, I had to wait until I really wanted it. And I have never looked back. It gives you freedom. It saves you money. I don't vape, I chew gum. Everyone can do it, when they're ready X

Giving up smoking is so hard. I lost my husband to lung cancer and yet I still smoke!

Have you tried meditation? My sister said the deep breathing and calming effect replaces the craving :)

Gave up 8 years ago, 1 of the best things I ever did, never imagined I could and that always scared me so much. It takes everything you’ve got for a while and a lot of being self consumed but it is all about you initially, then imagine how great it’ll make your family feel. Good chat Nadia, you’re lovely 😘 x

@@sarahpenna262 I understand...I'm going out today to buy nicotine gum I think that will help me to quit. Sorry for my comment it did sound selfish

  • @Vikki-Waiting-victoriagrace

Public health England have published that Vaping is 95% safer than smoking. They say therefore that it is safer for smokers BUT NOT non smokers bc of the nicotine. They say that 1/6 deaths in this country are related to smoking so as only a handful of deaths in our country have been related to vaping they say it shouldn’t be getting its bad press. However in other counties such as the US they are having issues bc non smokers are vaping and they dont have the restrictions like we do over here, they cant be sure what they’re inhaling . Incidentally it saved my mothers life 6 months after i lost my father to lung cancer, she was told to same as Nadia’s nan, but luckily she listened and bought a vape. So i only have her left and if it wasn’t for them personally i wouldnt have my family.

Started early in my teens. I gave up regularly and then lapsed. But twenty years later now without one, I can still remember how much I enjoyed it. Glad I stopped, could never start again. I improved my health immensely. I sympathise with those trying, because I was so addicted, it’s so tough to stop but so worth persisting. So do keeping in there. You will be richer in so many other ways.

My mom smoked and that was the major cause of death listed on her death certificate. She started at age 16 and smoked til she died at 81. She tried many times to stop, but was never successful for more than a couple of weeks. I used to beg her to stop if not for her, then for ME because God knows how much 2nd hand smoke I inhaled. Still didn't stop her. That's how much of a hold it had on her. She was Italian, so she had a super-hot temper... every time she'd get upset (which was quite often), she'd reach for a cigarette. She was also in such denial about exactly how much she did smoke. So there were LOTS of fights about it because both me and my Dad hated it! x

My in laws both smoked constantly. My father in law died from COPD. My mother in law had sinus cancer. She was told after her surgery to stop smoking or she could loose her eyesight. She continued smoking even though she had lost the roof of her mouth due to chemo. She eventually lost her eye sight. So sad. My grand pa was 72 when he stopped smoking. Anyone can do it if they really try. I totally get that its hard and an addiction. BUT your eyesight and life should be more valuable than a cigarette.

Hi I lost my Dad to lung cancer, unfortunately he didn't realise he had cancer until it had spread to his brain. It was a real eye opener and a cruel way to go. I stopped soon after. I have piled on the weight though. 😢
