- This is chapter 2-3 of my FE10 HM 0% growths playthrough, commentated by KirbymastaH and me. It is completed in 4 turns.
This is the first of a handful of maps in which I have a LOT of allied or NPC units who have a tangible impact in strategy, IF I can get them to do what I want. In this map it's not that hard since I only ever direct them to move to targeted locations, but even subtle changes in the targeted tile can affect where the units will move.
The bow paladin has 47 hit (44.7% true) on Marcia at bad biorhythm. The true hit curve has the greatest slope around 50 hit, which is why I wanted to reset for bad or worst biorhythm on the bow paladin. There are 2 other RNG-heavy elements to this strategy: Marcia's 26% Killer Lance crit and Makalov's 80.8% chance to survive the boss. Multiply these 3 events together, and the cumulative success rate is 9.4%.
A small correction: Mounted units can be shoved in this game and FE9; it's just that the subset of units who can shove them is very small, and none of them are available in this chapter.
Stat checks in 2-3:
Armor axe L20: Rolls 16 or less spd - pretty likely
Halberdier L5: Rolls 16 def instead of 17 def - extremely unlikely
Bow paladin L5: Has bad or worst biorhythm
Itemfinding in 2-3: Arms Scroll (43%)

Can’t believe Makkah couldn’t show up for his own join map.
He's too busy to commentate when he's fighting in the chapter with the strength of TEN MEN
Why did that Bishop contribute more to this run than Meg...
You didn't need to belittle the Daien bishops for their lack of wealth.
Danved was such a savior for fighting this boss in my last playthrough. Geoffrey is so inconsistent against him.
Of course you would pop in with the Danved propaganda
Putting the "Charge" back in "Geoffrey's Charge." Seeing this map cleared in less than 45 minutes is quite refreshing
Straight to the point as ever. No horseplay allowed in an LTC run
Wow, that's a really nice trick with Marcia and the bishop. Didn't see that one coming. Favorite part of the run so far for me.
6:00 Radiant Dawn enemy armored units being both fast and having good resistance is insane.
They're unhinged. I love them.
Too bad their speed caps out quickly. I was having so much fun with Gatrie zooming, but darn caps put a damper on that.
Thank you for the advice last week! I spent the past week doing nothing but play Fire Emblem and now I feel more ready than ever for finals! My first one is in like 2 hours.
It's ez, just crit lmao
@@DD151I’m sure my Professors will appreciate that
This is the moment Geoffrey became Sigurd having to wait for the massive army of npcs to move
at least he doesn't have to ride through spirit forest
This has been one of the funnest chapters to watch for the series, partly for seeing the yellow unit formation being put to use, and partly to see how tight the movement requirements are to get the boss kill.
I visibly tensed when Astrid/Marcia were that high up since I'm used to just blitzing with Geoffrey to end this map ASAP. Little shaky on some of the odds (the boss is scary) but well done on the clear!
2-E is going to be so fun.
2:31 that bishop was so randomly strong
Ah, the chapter where you start horsing around.
Kieran gaming! He's my favorite, I can't wait to see more of him in this LTC run!
*remembers he's just Titania but with less availability*
...H-he's gonna be a lot of help, right?
2-3 Bishop now entered in the Hall of Fame of NPC Units.
Bishop, as a friend you are irreplaceable. Farewell.
Can't wait for the in depth analysis of 2-E, that's gonna be a record long video...!
That boss having so much crit at the end of a map where turns take forever with so many enemy and yellow units moving around is a real dick move
MarciaXBishop is my favourite ship
To me, this map is the most notable for the absolutely insane BEXP you can get from it. In my first playthrough I used it to push Haar to Tier 3 promoted in 2-E. It was Bery Balanced™
This map is sick. And the clear too.
Yes, finally Geoffrey, hes my favourite in this game!
Good ol' Geoffrey's Slaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarge... That's the sound I make while this map drones on usually.
Slog of density: "finally, a worthy opponent..."
Astrid, Makalov, and Danved deleting the boss was unexpected and a pleasant surprise. 💖
Recently played this game for the first time, on console without the ability to skip animations. This chapter felt like the worst FE chapter I have ever played, and almost made me ragequit.
Yellow Crimea horseman, thank you for your sacrifice.
Beautiful. GORGEOUS. Especially when Mekk... I mean Danved killed the boss!
The fact that the character named Geoffrey is canonically pronounced "joff-ree" always fucks me up because everyone I've ever met in my life named Geoffrey is pronounced "Jeff-ree"
Totally agree, I even "correctly" pronounced it on a couple of recording takes that I had to fix!
Very slick clear, I never came close to figuring out how to kill the boss on turn 4 (i.e. without baiting him off his tile). And of course if you bait him out, you don't have to kill him at all lol.
A Bishop sacrifice? What is this, chess???
Anime chess, I've been told
what if today i watched DURING my lecture
Love this series! I'm so nervous about how endgame is gonna go but mostly only ike vs bk
Who is going to support the 3-13 archer?
1:08 Horses layeR?
30 resets just for the speedway guy on top of all the other inconsistent stats and stuff like the 26 percent crit that Marcia had to get.
How many resets? I think I would pull my hair out first. @.@
The stats resets and the strategy resets are separate. And fortunately the stats resets are pretty fast since I just have to read the Info conversations before going to the map. The chapter itself took maybe around 10 tries which isn't bad, just irritating since everything that's iffy happens on the final turn.
I love this absolute mess of a map. Will the yellow units be useful or get in the way? Is Makalov going to actually land important hits? Nobody knows! Never thought to rescue the Bishop forward to use as bait, that's smart.
Confirm the remake Dondon, we know it's between your LTC notes 😤🤬1!
At least twice and probably more when playing through this map I have forgotten about the bowgun guys and had Marcia get turbomurdered :(
Radiant dawn armors are insane
Every time I hear dondon's voice and see that high resolution RD logo, I do a double take
This chapter is all sorts of weird, just like Radiant Dawn. If there's any videos dissecting the AI of this game, the procedure probably looks like a back alley surgery job. Nice 4 turn clear tho!
So I wonder:
if you were allowed to finish this map in 5 turns, how much more reliable would this map be?
I'm a fan of this map, rushing the entire team with yellow units in 1 big ball towards the boss, but I usually use Geoffrey to beat the boss even if it cost me 1 more turn, just because it's more reliable and gives me more leeway to secure the speedwing.
I have a lot of yellow units as meatshields to lower the risk of my blue units dying for taking longer on maps.
Also I hope it didn't take too many attempts to finish this map in 4 turns, I'm kinda curious how many it took.
I remember you mentioning in one of the previous parts that there is a limit that you are willing to reset for good RNG.
5-turning is pretty trivial, honestly the first 3 turns are very consistent. If you had a full extra turn to do whatever you wanted at the top of the map, you wouldn't need the halberdier crit, you wouldn't need Marcia to fight the bow paladin, and Geoffrey can just maul the boss.
A ~10% chance for a strategy to work is about the limit for what I'm willing to attempt for a map that has a reset point as late as 2-3.
@@DD151 I actually should've expected that answer if a casual like me can finish this map in 5 turns.
Am I forgetting some detail about the part 2 convoy, or could you have sent the brave lance to the convoy at the end when Danved gets the Wo Dao by filling up his inventory? I feel like it'd be useful for early part 3
EDIT: I forgot about 3-9's existence it'll probably be more useful there nevermind
Yes I could've, but I used the Brave Lance in 3-9 and I found no need for the Brave Lance before 3-11.
Horseslayer is important? I didn't get that impression from it in a recent run.
it's pretty nice in a few chapters
It's way more important in 0% growths where units don't automatically double or 2HKO paladins later on.
Geofrey's enemy phase
Makalov good
MONDAY MONDAY MONDAY!#!@#!@#@!#
How do you role stats in Radiant Dawn?
You just reset until you get the specific random ones you want. Enemy stats have a narrow range that they can be in due to how the stats are generated.
Thanks
As the maps get larger your strategies only get more impressive.
Horse joke
Salutations
Halberdier L5: Rolls 16 def instead of 17 spd - extremely unlikely
Huh?
B-But Halderdier-chan has 19 Spd.
Whoops, thanks for pointing out the typo lol
Man part 2 is so bad to play through LOL
But what if: You disarm Makalov and sacrifice him to the horde so the rest of your army can sneak past and Astrid can move on with her life? 🤔
6-3 for free :)
" this is RD so mounted units can't be shoved "
Why a speedrunner is giving out misinformation lol
