I was born in a house that was visible from the southbound platform at Dewsbury one week after the line officially closed.. I vaguely remember the abandoned station before we moved away in 1970
"What a great video' ive done a lot of research on this line and area. Cant belive what used to be here in this Area. 1st time ive seen it from the rails. Thanks for posting. Cheers Grant ; )
I Shared this with my friend. He said this was his Dad filming as a kid going to school. Small world. He sold the footage to telerail/ or Cinirail. There is a DVD out with this on. If i can find out the dvd i will tell you. Or if i can. Up load it. Cheers Grant.
@@nigelkthomas9501 My Friend said. His Dad aged 10/11 had to speed the film up to get more on the tape. Cini camera. Very expencive film reel. I moved up to the Dewsbury Area 15years ago. I couldnt belive how much Railway "WAS" there! So much gone! What a shame. Like the Pudsey loop where im from. And Bradford area.
@@nigelkthomas9501 you would have to look that up. I think once cause Quality would go. Seeing it from a drivers point of view realy pins it all together.
I live in wrenthorpe grew up in ossett and lived their over 40 years,my dad's house is built on the estate were the train station was bridge behind my dad's house on southdale was filled in but when I was a kid you could walk under it,the second tunnel nearest to Dewsbury train station is open again now to the public you can walk along the railway track all the way from ossett to Dewsbury about 10to12 years ago it was made into a path cycle way.

Grants Cellar I have the video with it on. Shame it wasn’t filmed at normal speed and right through to Bradford. Would’ve been ace!

Grants Cellar And would I be right in saying you could only use the film reel once? Or could you record again and again...

I wish this had been filmed right through to Bradford and at normal speed. It’s too fast to see any detail.
