Keryyyy...pls keep it 😭😭😭 Parkers are wonderful writers. I think you should try some dryer inks to see if the medium is like medium. Parkers nib is sooo bouncy. Just my flight 71 (not 18k or steel) writes so well. I really think you should keep it. The nib is so beautiful 😭😭 Edit: now I forgot what the teaser is. We all are mesmerized by the pen.
Keep it! I love Parker pens and I have accumulated many since my youth. My first purchased one was a Parker 45, which I still use. Parker 75's have the springiest nibs I've ever used. Have you ever considered making videos on some of the less expensive new "vintage" pens like the Rotring Core, Cross Solo, and Waterman Phileas? They are only available used, but so worth getting.
I think you really love this pen Kerry and should keep it and get a super personalized special grind on it. I love love love an ivory pen and if I could afford it I would be trying to talk you into selling it right now😂
Yeah, keep it! It's beautiful, and you like how it writes. And it has the name of your cat ;) You can always sell it at a later time when you're really sure and/or the funds are much needed (although i don't know if that's the case now, of course)
Nooooo! Don't sell it! If it writes too broad, just have it tweaked! I have a newer Duofold Centennial that I was comparing to yours as you spoke, and while I love mine, I would not part with the one you have if I had it! I'd keep both!!! Mine wrote too broad when I got it as well, so I had it reground to a .04mm cursive italic. Keep it!
Dragons! Beautiful pen, by the way. The Parker Duofold Centennial is one of my grail pens. They have a beautiful blue chevron version on Amazon that I've been eyeing for months.
A while back I came across a Pilot Varsity that I had used in grad school that had been in forgotten in a box for 10+ years. Much to my surprise it wrote at the first touch!
Hi Kerry, I'm with a bunch of people, keep this pen, it is so nice, and hard to replace if you find you regret selling. Maybe a nib meister, like Salman at Toronto Pen Co., might be able to help with the flow issue and get it writing more like a medium without any drastic work.
I had a Lamy dark lilac I couldn’t decide whether to sell. I eventually did. I paid $7 for it and I sold it for $100. I have other Lamy pens that are functionally identical, so I don’t miss it. But you would miss the duofold. I think in your case, I would keep it. Unless you really needed money, there’s no need to let it go. It’s okay to have a pen just to have it. Be a pen dragon and keep it in your hoard.
I've never sold a pen! I'm only two years into this hobby... mostly. By an interesting co-incidence, I recently found the fountain pens I used as an exchange student in France in 1982-83. There are two Stypens, which look very cheap, and a Waterman, which seems about equivalent to a Pilot Metropolitan. I inked up the Waterman, and it is not too bad! I'd guess I might have last inked it in the first few years since I came home, probably no later than 87! All three use cartridges, standard International for the Stypens and Waterman proprietary, I think, for the Waterman. No, I think you'd do best to hang onto the Parker a while longer. At least try it in your rotation a bit more and see if it stales.
So this lovely, pristine, out of production pen checks so many boxes for you - except the (otherwise wonderful) nib is slightly too broad? Come on, now. You bought it for a reason. Embrace a little variety.
Keep the Duofold Kerry. If you sell it and regret it - will you be able to justify the money to replace it? Thanks, as ever, for bringing us Pens & Tea.
White pens are not "my cup of tea" - If you sell it, you may never find another one later on to take it's place. Would you consider changing the nib if you could find another Parker nib in a different size??
You have to keep that pen. If you sell it, then you’re negating one of the most important reasons why many of us are in the hobby in the first place, and that may have negative repercussions.
🐉🐲🐉🐲🐉Keep the pen! I have one that I did not use for years as well but I never even considered selling. Just because I know that I'll pull it out of its case at some point and use it for a while and put it back again. İt happens to some of our pens. Don't sell a pen that you know is not being made anymore unless you truly hate it or you or have absolutely no doubt about it. But it is obvious you love it. The nib problem is such an easy fix. Just send it to a nib meister and have it ground down to the size you want. Then you'll have a whole new pen 😊
I think you should sell the pen so someone else can love it and use it since you are in doubt and it don’t use it very much. . 😅If you should regret it, you know that the pen is in a new loving home. It’s a fine thing to sell the pen to a person who will appreciate it.😊
Keep that pen. You love it.
I vote to keep it and get it ground finer so youll use it more!

I would not sell that gorgeous pen Kerry. And it writes like a dream too. Maybe ask for a finer grind or such thing?

When it's gone it's gone.
Dragons... Also, you clearly love that gorgeous pen. 😊 Think it's a keeper.

Dragons- I love this fountain pen. Every time you post it for sale I am so tempted 😂❤
A while back I came across a Pilot Varsity that I had used in grad school that had been in forgotten in a box for 10+ years. Much to my surprise it wrote at the first touch!
In your shoes, I'd keep it and have it reground to something that better suits your writing.

Beautiful pen. It's no longer in production and you may regret selling and can't buy another easily.

I have the original re+release from the 1990s, the blue marble version. I have never seen this version. You should definitely keep it.
I would love that pen, a medium nib that writes like a broad. Very nice. And it is not a large pen somewhere in the middle.
It appears clear to me that you want to keep this pen. I sure would!
Yes! That’s a great looking pen.

You love that pen. Maybe your friend army can adjust the nib for you the way you like.
Dragons! Also, keep it. Maybe get it ground if the B nib really isn't your thing, but as many here have said, you will regret it if you sell it.

Dragons 😸(and keep)
I get a hard start from most Parkers after leaving them overnight! 😂

Dragons, that is also my sign.
Also, dragons.
Is that why your cat is named Parker? 😇🩷🙏🙌
Dragons…….keep the pen.
Anyone read any good books with dragons in them?
