Same here, have a Rolex Sea dweller 16600 and Doxa 300T orange dial. Always have a hard time choosing which one to wear. Wear them boat in the water and on my boat. Both tremendous watches. Very fortunate to own both. History on the wrist.

Great problem to have - beautiful watches!

I have a sub 6000t professional. And have worn it while scuba diving. At a depth of 100 ft the orange dial looks chocolate brown. I met Jacques Cousteau’s oldest son (Jean-Michel) a couple years ago, and he wears a well worn Doxa to this day.
    Great video!👍

I envy you. I can’t find a 6000t anywhere. But the new 600t looks nice so light end up getting one. Won’t replace my passion for getting a 6000t but at least will suppress it for a while 🤔

Nice choice!👌In hind sight , I should have gone with a smaller case size. The 6000T is really too heavy to wear every day. After a few days I have to change it out. The Doxa quality is excellent however and I think a mid size, like the 600t would be perfect.
      Best of luck to you!👍

It was orange. I believe it was a Sub 600t, but I only got a very quick look.

OMW! When I named my future sailboat Doxa I never knew there where a watch called Doxa! Astonishing that it was Jacques Cousteau's favourite watch. From one Doxa to another "high five"! Absolutely love this piece of history!

The Doxa release valve on the Sub 300 was released 2 years before the Rolex.

In the commercial market, yes. But Rolex already was using it on their professional watches.

The gears weren’t under ‘stress’, it was the crystal that would blow off due to pressure building up on the inside of the watch upon ascension and having nowhere to go.

Got a Doxa 300 professional and it’s the most legible watch face any time of the day, and off the wrist it sits on a watch winder. Had all the premium watches but this one is the most comfortable on the wrist and I think they a very underrated as I think they are up there with the top 5 premium watch makers.

Have the orange 300T and Seadweller. Use both to dive as they were meant to be used. Both perform perfectly. Both are AWESOME! No regrets...

Yup! I got a 300T in February 2020! Gorgeous! I have a Submariner & Seamaster, however nothing touches the Doxa for its orange dial. Plus, despite its size (42.5), the beads of rice bracelet and lozenge case distribute the weight perfectly.

I have the special edition Sub 300. It is by far one of my favorite watches. I also have the Jenny 300 Caribbean. I don't dive, however, I sail. Both of these watches are not only tough, they are beautiful, and very comfortable on the wrist.

@Patrick O Thank you! We received a 1969 Doxa Sub 300 Professional, for repair, and on October 10th we featured it on our 'socials' which translated to the inspiration for this video. Thanks for watching! 👍

  • @hochspannunglebensgefahr5339

Helium escape valves don’t “increase the longevity of watches.” Sat divers breath a mixture of oxygen, nitrogen, and helium. Helium seeps into the case when they’re at increased pressures, and, as pressure decreases, air quickly expands and breaks the watch, typically by popping off the crystal. Helium escape valves offer an alternative route. If anything, a helium escape valve would be a downside to a surface diver like Jacques Cousteau was. It’s not a benefit to a watch, it’s something either you need or you don’t

I just bought a Sub 200 to see what this brand is about. Wholly shit as soon as I got it I went and ordered the sub 300T but they sold out of the orange dial! What I don’t understand is the difference between the 300T and the 1200T other than helium escape valve??? Also the clasp on my Doxa 300T is the one with the ratchet adjustment and I was expecting the regular stamped one. So there is a lot of unknowns for me still that maybe you know the answers to?
